    I'd like to program against interfaces when working with NHibernate due to type dependency issues within the solution I am working with. SO questions such as this indicate it is possible. I have an ILocation interface and a concrete Location type. Will the following work?     Hello everyone, I am working on mobile/server security related project. I am now stuck in generating a Diffie-Hellman key agreement part. It works fine in server side program but it is not working in mobile side. Thus, I assume that it is not compactible with Android. I used the following class to get the parameters. It returns a comma-separated string of 3 values. The first number is the prime modulus P. The second number is the base generator G. The third number is bit size of the random exponent L. My question is is there anything wrong with the code or it is not compactible for android?What kind of changes should I do? Your suggestion and guidance would be very much help for me.     Hi, i m starting a new project that would basically take input from user and save them to database among about 30 screens, and i would like to find a framework that will allow the maximum number of these features out of the box : .net c#. windows form. unit testing continuous integration screens with lists, combo boxes, text boxes, add, delete, save, cancel that are easy to update when you add a property to your classes or a field to your database. auto completion on controls to help user find its way use of an orm like nhibernate easy multithreading and display of wait screens for user easy undo redo tabbed child windows search forms ability to grant access to some functionnalities according to user profiles mvp/mvvm or whatever design patterns either some code generation from database to c# classe or generation of database schema from c# classes some kind of database versioning / upgrade to easily update database when i release patches to application once in production automatic control resizing code metrics analysis some code generator i can use against my entities that would generate some rough form i can rearrange after code documentation generator ... Any ideas ? I know its lot but i really would like to use existing code to build upon so i can focus on business rules. Could splitting the requirements on 3 or 4 existing open source framework be possible ? Do u have any suggestion to add to the list before starting ? What open source tools would u use to achieve these ?

    Hi. I have 2 classes Tema(Homework) and Disciplina (course), where a Course has a Set of homeworks. Im using the merge() method.

  • MSSQL in ASP.NET application getting unstable after a certain period

    Hello, I have an ASP.NET 2.0 application that I made to keep track of disruption reports about our public transport system. The architecture is pretty straight-forward; an MSSQL Express 2008 database, ADO.NET and a DataSet/DAL with a few methods to access the database. There is a set of .aspx pages for the UI in use by our dispatchers and on our public website, as well as a set of SOAP and REST webservices and an RSS feed. Everything worked just fine for more than a year, until two weeks ago. Now and then, it seems as the database enters an unstable mode, and the application starts responding something right, something wrong. The typical error is that apparently, an empty DataTable is returned to the public disruption overview or to the RSS generator. Thus, the user gets e.g. an empty GridView, but no exception is thrown AFAIK, and nothing is written to the Windows Application log. After a restart of the MSSQL Express service, the situation is back to normal. It has to be said that the situation first time appeared a few days after I made a new minor upgrade of the application. The RSS generator was slightly rewritten, and I added a WCF REST service. But the DAL and the database schema were untouched... Any hints of how we could keep the database stable? It is a bit annoying not to have a clue ;-)

    I have a security number generator device, small enough to go on a key-ring, which has a six digit LCD display and a button. After I have entered my account name and password on an online form, I press the button on the security device and enter the security code number which is displayed. I get a different number every time I press the button and the number generator has a serial number on the back which I had to input during the account set-up procedure. I would like to incorporate similar functionality in my website. As far as I understand, these are the main components: Generate a unique N digit aplha-numeric sequence during registration and assign to user (permanently) Allow user to generate an N (or M?) digit aplha-numeric sequence remotely For now, I dont care about the hardware side, I am only interested in knowing how I may choose a suitable algorithm that will allow the user to generate an N (or M?) long aplha-numeric sequence - presumably, using his unique ID as a seed Identify the user from the number generated in step 2 (which decryption method is the most robust to do this?) I have the following questions: Have I identified all the steps required in such an authentication system?, if not please point out what I have missed and why it is important What are the most robust encryption/decryption algorithms I can use for steps 1 through 3 (preferably using 64bits)?

  • Mapping an instance of IList in NHibernate

    I'm trying to map a parent-child relationship using NHibernate (2.1.2), MySql.Data (6.2.2) and MySQL Server (5.1). I figured out that this must be done using a <bag> in the mapping file. I build a test app which is running without yielding any errors and is doing an insert for each entry but somehow the foreign key inside the children table (ParentId) is always empty (null). Here are the important parts of my code...     I have two entities which I would like to join through multiple columns. These columns are shared by an @Embeddable object that is shared by both entities. In the example below, Foo can have only one Bar but Bar can have multiple Foos (where AnEmbeddableObject is a unique key for Bar). There is soem new fields to describe relations (mappedBy and inversedBy) and also some new ways of mapping.   • Entity Framework 4 + POCO with custom classes and WCF contracts (serialization problem)

    Yesterday I worked on a project where I upgraded to Entity Framework 4 with the Repository pattern. In one post, I have read that it is necessary to turn off the custom tool generator classes and then write classes (same like entites) by hand. That I can do it, I used the POCO Entity Generator and then deleted the new generated files .tt and all subordinate .cs classes. Then I wrote the "entity classes" by myself. I added the repository pattern and implemented it in the business layer and then implemented a WCF layer, which should call the methods from the business layer. By calling an Insert (Add) method from the presentation layer and everything is OK. But if I call any method that should return some class, then I get an error like (the connection was interrupted by the server). I suppose there is a problem with the serialization or am I wrong? How can by this problem solved? I'm using Visual Studio S2010, Entity Framework 4, C#. UPDATE: I have uploaded the project and hope somebody can help me! link text UPDATE 2: My questions: Why is POCO good (pros/cons)? When should POCO be used? Is POCO + the repository pattern a good choice? Should POCO classes by written by myself or could I use auto generated POCO classes?

  • Incorrect component when querying immediately after insert using NHibernate

    I have the following mapping for my table in MySql: <class name="Tag, namespace" table="tags" > <id name="id" type="Int32" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="native"></generator> </id> <property name="name" type="String" not-null="true"></property> <component name="record_dates" class="DateMetaData, namespace" > <property name="created_at" type="DateTime" not-null="true"></property> <property name="updated_at" type="DateTime" not-null="true"></property> </component> </class> As you see the record_dates property is defined as a component field of type DateMetaDate. Both created_at and updated_at fields in 'tags' table are updated via triggers. Thus I can insert a new record like such: var newTag = new Tag() { name = "some string here" } Int32 id = (Int32)Session.Save(tag); Session.Flush(); ITag t = Session.Get<Tag>(id); ViewData["xxx"] = t.name; // -----> not null ViewData["xxx"] = t.record_dates.created_at; // -----> is null However when querying the same record back immediately after it was inserted the record_dates field ends up null even though in the table those fields have got values. Can any one please point out why the Session.Get ignores getting everything back from the table? is it because it caches the newly created record for which the records_dates is null? If so how can it be told to ignore the cached version?

  • Batch insert mode with hibernate and oracle: seems to be dropping back to slow mode silently

    I'm trying to get a batch insert working with Hibernate into Oracle, according to what i've read here: http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.3/reference/en/html/batch.html , but with my benchmarking it doesn't seem any faster than before. Can anyone suggest a way to prove whether hibernate is using batch mode or not? I hear that there are numerous reasons why it may silently drop into normal mode (eg associations and generated ids) so is there some way to find out why it has gone non-batch? My hibernate.cfg.xml contains this line which i believe is all i need to enable batch mode: <property name="jdbc.batch_size">50</property> My insert code looks like this: List<LogEntry> entries = ..a list of 100 LogEntry data classes... Session sess = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); for(LogEntry e : entries) { sess.save(e); } sess.flush(); sess.clear(); My 'logentry' class has no associations, the only interesting field is the id: @Entity @Table(name="log_entries") public class LogEntry { @Id @GeneratedValue public Long id; ..other fields - strings and ints... However, since it is oracle, i believe the @GeneratedValue will use the sequence generator. And i believe that only the 'identity' generator will stop bulk inserts. So if anyone can explain why it isn't running in batch mode, or how i can find out for sure if it is or isn't in batch mode, or find out why hibernate is silently dropping back to slow mode, i'd be most grateful.     I've got a MS-SQL database with a table created with this code CREATE TABLE [dbo].[portfoliomanager]( [idPortfolioManager] [int] NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY IDENTITY, [name] [varchar](45) NULL ) so that idPortfolioManager is my primary key and also auto-incrementing. Now on my Windows WPF application I'm using NHibernate to help with adding/updating/removing/etc. data from the database. Here is the class that should be connecting to the portfoliomanager table namespace PortfolioManager { [Class(Table="portfoliomanager",NameType=typeof(PortfolioManagerClass))] public class PortfolioManagerClass { [Id(Name = "idPortfolioManager")] [Generator(1, Class = "identity")] public virtual int idPortfolioManager { get; set; } [NHibernate.Mapping.Attributes.Property(Name = "name")] public virtual string name { get; set; } public PortfolioManagerClass() { } } } and some short code to try and insert something PortfolioManagerClass portfolio = new PortfolioManagerClass(); Portfolio.name = "Brad's Portfolios"; The problem is, when I try running this, I get this error: {System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'idPortfolioManager', table 'PortfolioManagementSystem.dbo.portfoliomanager'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated... with an outer exception of {"could not insert: [PortfolioManager.PortfolioManagerClass][SQL: INSERT INTO portfoliomanager (name) VALUES (?); select SCOPE_IDENTITY()]"} I'm hoping this is the last error I'll have to solve with NHibernate just to get it to do something, it's been a long process. Just as a note, I've also tried setting Class="native" and unsaved-value="0" with the same error. Thanks! Edit: Ok removing the 1, from Generator actually allows the program to run (not sure why that was even in the samples I was looking at) but it actually doesn't get added to the database. I logged in to the server and ran the sql server profiler tool and I never see the connection coming through or the SQL its trying to run, but NHibernate isn't throwing an error anymore. Starting to think it would be easier to just write SQL statements myself :(

  • Symfony 2 - Updating a table based on newly inserted record in another table

    I'm trying to create a small forum application using Symfony 2 and Doctrine 2. My ForumTopic entity has a last_post field (oneToOne mapping). Now when I persist my new post with $em->persist($post); I want to update my ForumTopic entity so its last_post field would reference this new post. I have just realised that it cannot be done with a Doctrine postPersist Listener, so I decided to use a small hack, and tried: $em->persist($post); $em->flush(); $topic->setLastPost($post); $em->persist($post); $em->flush(); but it doesn't seem to update my topics table. I also took a look at http://docs.doctrine-project.org/projects/doctrine-orm/en/2.1/reference/working-with-associations.html#transitive-persistence-cascade-operations hoping it will solve the problem by adding cascade: [ 'persist' ] to my Topic.orm.yml file, but it didn't help, either. Could anyone point me to a solution or an example class? Only one instance of a specific book is stored to the system (When a book is added, application checks if that book is already found before adding a new row to the database).   • Custom DataAnnotation attribute with datastore access in ASP.NET MVC 2

    I have my application designed with Repository pattern implemented and my code prepared for optional dependency injection in future, if we need to support another datastore. I want to create a custom validation attribute for my content objects. This attribute should perform some kind of datastore lookup. For instance, I need my content to have unique slugs. To check if a Slug already exist, I want to use custom DataAnnotation attribute in my Base content object (instead of manually checking if a slug exists each time in my controller's Insert actions). Attribute logic would do the validation. So far I have come up with this: public class UniqueSlugAttribute : ValidationAttribute { private readonly IContentRepository _repository; public UniqueSlugAttribute(ContentType contentType) { _repository = new XmlContentRepository(contentType); } public override bool IsValid(object value) { if (string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(value.ToString())) { return false; } string slug = value.ToString(); if(_repository.IsUniqueSlug(slug)) return true; return false; } } part of my Base content class: ... There's an error in line [UniqueSlug(ContentType1)] saying: "An attribute argument must be a constant expression, typeof expression or array creation expression of an attribute parameter type." Let me explain that I need to provide the ContentType1 parameter to the Constructor of UniqueSlug class because I use it in my data provider. It is actually the same error that appears if you try do to this on the built-in Required attribute: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof (Localize), ErrorMessageResourceName = Resources.Localize.SlugRequired] It does not allow us to set it to dynamic content. In the first case ContentType1 gets known at runtime, in the second case the Resources.Localize.SlugRequired also gets known at runtime (because the Culture settings are assigned at runtime). This is really annoying and makes so many things and implementation scenarios impossible. So, my first question is, how to get rid of this error? The second question I have, is whether you think that I should redesign my validation code in any way?

  • JMeter to grab full querystring into a variable for future use

    Someone provided me the regex to parse out a query string: (?<=\?)[^?]+$ I am trying to use that in JMeter with no luck (although I am successful in pulling out individual query string parameter values based on various example postings on the web). I created a regular expression extractor called "Grab QueryString". I selected the URL response field to check. For the reference name, I typed "myQueryString". For the regular expression, I entered your text. For template, I entered $1$ Match no = 1 Default Value = ERROR Unfortunately, "myQueryString" is getting populated with ERROR and not the URL query string as hoped when I try and use it as a parameter in a future GET. Thus, I see this in the "View Results Tree": https:/www.website.com/folder/page.aspx?ERROR Instead of: https:/www.website.com/folder/page.aspx?jfhjHSDjgdjhsjhsdhjSJHWed Did I do something wrong? Anyone have any suggestions?
