  Hi, Im new to Prolog and was looking for some assistance. What i am trying to do is basically get the some of the list of list, if that makes sense? lol What i am trying to achieve is.... sum([ [1,2],[3,4],[5,6] ]). should return: Number Of Lists: 3 List 1 3 List 2 7 List 3 11....etc I can get the Number of Lists which is fairly simple but im not quite sure how to loop through the List and then for each List add the number up. Am i making this more complicated than it actually is? lol! If anyone can help me or point me in the general direction that would be great. Thanks in advance

• Jquery/CSS help needed to make fallback for IE and older browsers

  Wondering if any of you can help me: I've made a signup modal that uses a CSS transform to switch between two methods of signing up. I've decided to try a 'card flip' type effect. Have a look at this JSfiddle in any browser that supports CSS 3D transforms - click the 'old fashioned way' text to 'flip' the modal (simplified for demo purposes): http://jsfiddle.net/voodoo6/cnTMz/8/ Then take a look in IE8/9 - as the 'back' is taller than the front and IE does;t support 'backface-visibility: hidden;' the reverse can be seen below the front. I've been trying to use JQuery and conditional CSS to 'display:none' the 'back' on load in IE (and older browsers), then add a 'display:block;' class to show it on click, problem is, I'm a JQuery beginner and have been struggling to get it to work! Not even sure if this is the best approach? Can anybody suggest an approach that would get this working in less-capable browsers? Thanks for any advice..

  Hello everyone , I'd started for about a mouth and I have some problems now :( 1. I create a TabActivity and it has three Activity(tab1,tab2,tab3).I wanna realize that if I press a button in tab1,then TextView in tab2 can be changed. I've tried Intent and Bundle , but that didn't work and force close . Maybe because of the TabActivity I think . 2. If I have a layout and there are many TextView on it. But some are out of the screen. How can I scroll the screen? 3. Is it possible that TextView in Tablelayout can be clicked ? I've sreached there problems on Google for there days but still bother me . Really need help, Thanks :)

  Hello, I need some help with a MySQL query. I have two tables, one with offers and one with statuses. An offer can has one or more statuses. What I would like to do is get all the offers and their latest status. For each status there's a table field named 'added' which can be used for sorting. I know this can be easily done with two queries, but I need to make it with only one because I also have to apply some filters later in the project.   Hi guys, I'm currently doing a highlighting function on a webpage and im using the jquery plugin for that. My code looks like this: var input = function() { var matchword = $('#searchbox').val(); if(matchword != "") { $('body').removeHighlight(); $('body').highlight($('#searchbox').val()); } } $(document).ready(function() { $('#searchbox').keyup(function() { setTimeout("input()", 2000); }); }); It works fine if there is not so large amount of data on the page. But in case of large amount of data on the page the whole process is slowing down which causes that inputbox is freezing untill the letter is hightlighted. So the typing is not smooth. I tryed to use a setTimeout but it seems doesnt help. Any ideas?

  How do you sort out the good buzz from the bad buzz? - I really need your help here :) I see a lot of buzz-words nowadays, both here on SO and in school. For example, we had a teacher who everyone respected, who said "be careful about gold-plating and death-by-interfacing". Now, everyone and their mama cries whenever I'm creating an interface.. Another example would be here on SO where lately "premature optimization is the root of all evil", so everytime someone asks a perfomance question, he'll get that sentence thrown in his face. A few months ago I remember it was all about NHibernate in here, etc., etc... These things comes and goes, but only the good buzz stays. Now, how do you seperate the good from the bad? By reading blogs from respected persons? By trying to come to a conclusion on your own, and then try to convince others that you're right? By simply ignoring it?

  Hi, I have started learning Ruby for the past 2,3 weeks and I have come up with some findings on the language. Can someone please validate these points. Implemented in many other high level languages such as C, Java, .Net etc., Is slow for the obvious reason that it cannot beat any of the already known high level languages. Should never be compared with any other high level language. Not suitable for large applications. Completely open source and is in a budding state. Has a framework called Rails which claims that it would be good for Agile development Community out there is getting better day by day and finding help immediately should not be a problem as time goes by. Has significant changes between releases which many developers wont welcome right away. Running time cannot be comprehensively estimated since the language has several underlying implementation in several languages. Books are always outdated by the time when you finish them. Thanks.

• Thread help with Android game

  I need some help dealing with three Threads in Android One thread is the main thread, the other is the GLThread, and the other is a WorkerThread I created to update the game state. The problem I have is they all need to access the same LinkedList of game objects. Both the GLThread and my WorkerThread only read from the LinkedList, so no problem there, but occasionally I have the main thread adding in another game object to the list. How can I manage this? I tried using synchronized in front of the functions involved but it really slows down the application. For some reason, just catching the errors and not rendering or updating the game state that frame, causes it to start lagging permanently. Anyone have any great ideas?

  I have an accounts table and a records table where accounts have multiple records. I would like to break down the account totals by "count of records" range. i.e. show the breakdown of Count of Records | Count 0-25 | 100 25 - 50 | 122 50 - 100 | 300 etc. I am using the following query, but I can't get it to group by "grp" which is what I want, any help on the best way to modify query? • Help getting PHP sessions to persist after being taken off-site

  Hi, we're working on a payment gateway system with PHP. We use sessions to store the shopping cart data. The system takes you off-site to the payment processor's site, and then return you to your site. On most hosts, we have no issues when we arrive back at our site and having the session data still be there. On those with an issue, turning off the PHP session referer_check has worked in the past. We don't really want to have to include the PHPSESSID as a GET variable, and hope to avoid that. What I'm looking for is what other server configurations would cause the session to be killed, and any other workarounds there might be. Thanks for your help.
