    I have Article table: id | type | date ----------------------- 1 | A | 2010-01-01 2 | A | 2010-01-01 3 | B | 2010-01-01 Field type can be A, B or C. I need to run a report that would return how many articles of each type there is per every day, like this: date | count(type="A") | count(type="B") | count(type="C") ----------------------------------------------------- 2010-01-01 | 2 | 1 | 0 2010-01-02 | 5 | 6 | 7 Currently I am running 3 queries for every type and then manually merging the results select date, count(id) from article where type="A" group by date Is it possible to do this in one query? (in pure sql, no stored procedures or anything like that). Thanks

    Hi, I'm not sure when this happened but when I was trying to edit a menustrip in my program (in the VS designer), I noticed that the menu items had be grouped or merged. Like: File Edit Format Insert ... Instead of being able to click each menu item and add sub-items to them in the designer, they all were grouped together so I couldn't edit the menu items separately, it's quite painful. I couldn't find any properties related to this, so how could I ungroup the menu items in the designer?

  • Can ZFS ACL's be used over NFSv3 on host without /etc/group?

    Question at the bottom. Background My server setup is shown below, where I have an LDAP host which have a group called group1 that contains user1, user2. The NAS is FreeBSD 8.3 with ZFS with one zpool and a volume. serv1 gets /etc/passwd and /etc/group from the LDAP host. serv2 gets /etc/passwd from the LDAP host and /etc/group is local and read only. Hence it doesn't not know anything about which groups the LDAP have. Both servers connect to the NAS with NFS 3. What I would like to achieve I would like to be able to create/modify groups in LDAP to allow/deny users read/write access to NFS 3 shared directories on the NAS. Example: group1 should have read/write to /zfs/vol1/project1 and nothing more. Question The problem is that serv2 doesn't have a LDAP controlled /etc/group file. So the only way I can think of to solve this is to use ZFS permissions with inheritance, but I can't figure out how and what the permissions I shall set.   • Calculating average (AVG) and grouping by week on large data set takes too long

    I'm getting average prices by week on 7 million rows, it's taking around 30 seconds to get the job done. This is the simple query: SELECT AVG(price) as price, yearWEEK(FROM_UNIXTIME(timelog)) as week from pricehistory where timelog > $range and product_id = $id GROUP BY week The only week that actually gets data changed and is worth averaging every time is always the last one, so this calculation for the whole period is a waste of resources. I just wanted to know if mysql has a tool to help out on this.

    I've really been struggling through this. New to Java/Android. I'm writing my first app and this is the first thing that has taken me longer than a couple days of searching to figure out. Here's the setup: It's a BAC calculator / drink counter: A formula is used to calculate the BAC. Here's the forumla: Bac = ((StandardDrinks / 2) * (GenderConstant / Weight)) - (0.017 * Hours); So as you can see, being able to modify the gender and weight will produce more accurate and personalized results. So I have them as doubles: double GenderConstant = 7.5; //9 for female double Weight = 180; To change these variables I would like the person to be able to go into the settings and choose different values. I have these things set up, but not linked to the variables shown above because I cannot for the life of me figure out how. Here they are: I press the menu button and this pops up. Great. I'll click Settings. Now the preferences pops up.     I have a UITabBarController with a "More" tab whose color scheme I would like to modify. Navigation Controller Nav Bar Colors I've been able to change the background color of the "More" tab's UINavigationController by subclassing the UITabBarController and adding the following code to the ViewDidLoad method: UINavigationController *moreController = self.moreNavigationController; moreController.navigationBar.tintColor = [UIColor redColor]; I would also like to change the Nav controller's text color but have not been able to determine how to accomplish this. Table View Highlight Colors I'd like to disable or change the highlight color for the "More" tab's UITableView. I don't want to disable the ability to select, I just want to change or remove the blue highlight color. I see where I can change the SelectedTextColor property for a UITableViewCell's texLabel, but I'm unsure how or when this needs to be set given I'm not the table view's datasource. Edit View Nav Bar Color When the Edit button is selected, the nav bar at the top reverts to the basic blue color. Is there any way to access this nav bar to change its tint color?

    Hi there! I currently have a JSF application that uses two listboxes. The first, say ListBox1, contains a list of manufacturers; each option comes from the database (via a method getManufacturers in a class called QueryUtil), is populated dynamically, and its value is an integer ID. This part works so far. My goal is to populate a second listbox, say ListBox2, with a list of products sold by the manufacturer. This list of products will come from the database as well (products are linked to a manufacturer via a foreign key relationship, via a method getProducts in my QueryUtil class). How do I go about doing this? Please bear in mind that I've been working with JSF for under 24 hours; I'm willing to accept the fact that I'm missing something very rudimentary.   • How do I add additional data to a DataGridRowGroupHeader?

    I have a DataGrid that is showing some data via a PagedCollectionView with one group definition. I have created a Style for the corresponding DataGridRowGroupHeader under which I have added a ControlTemplate containing an additional TextBlock and a spacing Rectangle. I would like to bind the widths of these controls to the widths of particular columns, but I am struggling to get this working. I would also like to bind the Text property of the TextBlock to a value. I tried binding the widths via the Width property of a Rectangle in resources but this didn't work (possibly because the Rectangle was never drawn and therefore didn't calculate it's layout). However, I believe both sets of bindings can be performed with some use of one or more ValueConverter implementations, but I was wondering if there was a better way. Can any of this be achieved through the definition of a ControlTemplate?

    I'm parsing a string of XML into an XDocument that looks like this (using XDocument.Parse) <Root> <Item>Here is &quot;Some text&quot;</Item> </Root> Then I manipulate the XML a bit, and I want to send it back out as a string, just like it came in <Root> <Item>Here is &quot;Some text&quot;</Item> <NewItem>Another item</NewItem> </Root> However, what I am getting is <Root> <Item>Here is \"Some text\"</Item> <NewItem>Another item</NewItem> </Root> Notice how the double quotes are now escaped instead of encoded? This happens whether I use ToString(SaveOptions.DisableFormatting); or var stringWriter = new System.IO.StringWriter(); xDoc.Save(stringWriter, SaveOptions.DisableFormatting); var newXml = stringWriter.GetStringBuilder().ToString(); How can I have the double quotes come out as &quot; and not \"?     I am trying to use NetBeans to bind a JTextField to the selected element of a JTable. The JTable gets its data from an AbstractTableModel subclass which returns Cow objects. At present, each Cow object is displayed as a string through its toString method. The binding seems obvious but does not work; the bound value of the text field is always null.     Hi all: I was wondering how can I programmatically copy all the discussion items from one Sharepoint team discussion to another? I have tried retrieving the team discussion items from an existing site as SPListItem. Although I could find the Team Discussion list, but I could not red the retrieved items by assigning them as SPListItems. Moreover, team discussion looked like it has a lot of fields that requires a lot of other information to be available e.g. users, threads, topics, etc. It certainly looks different than other ordinary lists. Would a simple copying of all the fields be sufficient, or there is more to it? Thanks.
