  • How to get the PrintDocumentImageableArea for a given PrintQueue without going through PrintDialog?

    From MSDN (link): The type PrintDocumentImageableArea has no public constructor. Hence, the variable documentImageableArea must be declared and assigned to Nothing and only then passed to the method. This method displays a PrintDialog requiring input from the user. After the user has selected a printer, paper size, and orientation and closed the dialog, documentImageableArea points to an actual object and its properties are initialized. I have my custom print dialog and need to get the PrintDocumentImageableArea of a given PrintQueue and PrintTicket! (I need the margin's I need to apply) From what I can gather it is quite common for anything but the most basic applications to use their own custom print dialog. There must be a way to get to this information!? Any input appreciated!

    I have several javascript functions to validate the input data in textbox, so it will limit the user to type into the textbox a range of numbers (eg. from 0 to 500) an x amount of decimals (eg. 1 or 2 or 3 ....). I am having some issues with the javascript functions because they are three separate functions and the alerts get a bit mixed up. I was wondering if there is a jquery function that will make it neat, effective and simple. Thanks.

Why does crystal reports show a print dialog even when I pass false for promptUser? And how, then, can I suppress crystal reports' internal printer selection dialog and force it to use my values? Edit: Whoops, CR11, not CR9. Some further information: The reports that work properly (ie, do not show the print dialog) are generated internally using the RDC API; we create a new report object, import subreports into it, then print the result. No problem there. The reports that do not work properly (ie, force the print dialog to open) have been created with a previous version of crystal reports; however, opening and saving the report does not seem to help. Sample reports in the Crystal Reports installation directory show the same problem.     I am trying to parse a Rss2.0 feed on Android using a Pull parser. XmlPullParser parser = Xml.newPullParser(); parser.setInput(url.open(), null); The prolog of the feed XML says the encoding is "utf-8". When I open the remote stream and pass this to my Pull Parser, I get invalid token, document not well formed exceptions. When I save the XML file and open it in the browser(FireFox) the browser reports presence of Unicode 0x12 character(grave accent?) in the file and fails to render the XML. What is the best way to handle such cases assuming that I do not have any control over the XML being returned? Thanks.

    We've created a flow chart using Visio that has multiple layers. (The background is that each layer represents variations on a basic process.) Now we want to be able to print each layer individually. Currently this involves lots of clicking to select the correct layer and and then press print - then repeating this for each of the 10 layers. Is there a simpler way? E.g. define each layer once and use a "print each layer" tool / macro?

    Hi there, We seem to be having a problem with the spell checker on our content management system where it marks the ve part of We’ve as a misspelling. The spellchecker uses aspell which is called from a script on the server which executes the cmd.exe and uses it to pipe a file into aspell (it's a long winded way I know, but our server side programming langauge (ColdFusion) doesn't support writing to stdin for executables). Aspell is called by executing: c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /c type d:\path_to_file\file.txt | "C:\Program Files\Aspell\bin\aspell" --lang=en -a Where file.txt contains the text to be spelled e.g. ^Oh have We’ve (the carat is added to prevent piping problems I believe).     I'd like to print PDF file(s) on windows' network printer via GhostScript. (I dont want to use Adobe Reader) I've read gswin32c.exe which can do the job. I experimented with many commands and coudn't find the way how to force gs to print PDF on my (windows default) network drive. I don't need point exact network printer- default can be used. But if there is no such option I'm happy to pass printer name as well. (I've tried with param -SDevice="\server_IP\printer_name" but this didnt work as well...)     Hello all, I am not a regex specialist, so I need some help with this. I have a text file, and I need to remove some trailing delimiters. The text file looks like this: MSH|^~\&|OAZIS||||20101029135359||ADT^A31|00000015|P|2.3.1||||||ASCII EVN|A31|20101029135359^^^^||||19900101 So I think the best way is to do a Regex replace? Can anyone help me with this regex? I want to remove all ^ that come before a | So test^A^^| has to become test^A| Thanks

    I have a function with a python doctest that fails because one of the test input strings has a backslash that's treated like an escape character even though I've encoded the string as a raw string.     I have a custom TrueType font (TTF) that consists of a bunch of icons, which I'd like to render as individual bitmaps (GIF, PNG, whatever) for use on the Web. You'd think this is a simple task, but apparently not? There is a huge slew of TTF-related software here: http://cg.scs.carleton.ca/~luc/ttsoftware.html But it's all varying levels of "not quite what I want", broken links and/or hard to impossible to compile on a modern Ubuntu box -- eg. dumpglyphs (C++) and ttfgif (C) both fail to compile due to obscure missing dependencies. Any ideas?

    What does the @ symbol mean in LaTeX? I'm looking at the source of apa.cls, and there's a declaration: \newsavebox\gr@box and later on \sbox\gr@box{\includegraphics[width=\linewidth]{#2}}. It seems like @ isn't acting as a normal character, but I can't figure out exactly what it's doing, and couldn't find anything after bit of googling (how I would love a Google regex feature!) Thanks. EDIT: Thanks for the help; of the links I looked through I found http://www.tug.org/pipermail/tugindia/2002-January/000178.html to be very helpful and concise. To summarize, the @ character is not normally allowed in the names of macros, so as a hack for scoping, LaTeX packages declare it internally to be a valid name character and use it for their macros. You can use \makeatletter in a document to access these macros, but you obviously must be very careful since you have can now overwrite essential LaTeX kernel macros; use \makeatother to revert.

Can't python's glob doesn't handle the bracket letters or others? Is there any way to solve this problem?
