  • IE8 Developer Tools won't open

    Just installed IE8 on WinXP. Trying to use the Dev Tools but, clicking on the menu item or hitting F12 doesn't do anything. I can see the option in the tools menu, just can't use it. I've checked to make sure it wasn't opening minimized or off screen and I've checked the registry settings used to disable them. Those registry keys don't even exists. Suggestions? I was going to reinstall, but, thought I'd check here first.

  • Embed SQL Password into Crystal Reports RPT file?

    We are experimenting with Crystal Reports viewers such as this one: http://www.thereportviewer.com/ ... which can actually re-connect to the data source and re-run a Crystal Reports RPT file with live data. However when running the report the viewer asks for a password to connect to the data source (in this case SQL Server). Does Crystal Reports have some way of embedding a connection password into a RPT file to avoid this? Or should I be using a System DSN from the Control Panel/ODBC thing to get around this? I figure someone else must have had this problem.

  • ASP.NET Membership - Retrieve Password and PasswordSalt from Membership Table - Hash UserID

    Hello, I am so close to get this project done. I need to retrieve the password and passwordSalt from my Membership table to compare it to my 'OldPasswords' table. The problem is the Membership provider does not let me use the GetPassword method because the password is hashed. And I can not retrieve it in a normal sqlConnection because the UserID is hashed also. Does anyone know how to hash the UserID so I can put it in my where clause? Or maybe there is a different way to get to that data? Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Steve

  • Starting Firefox using Process.Start: Firefox not starting when you set Usename and Password

    Hi there. When I try to start Firefox using Process.Start and ProcessStartInfo (.NET) everything seems to work fine. But when I specify a username and password of another account (a member of Users), nothing seems to happen. The same code works fine with Calc.exe or IE. This is weird. Any ideas?     this linq query var users = from u in context.Users where u.UserEMailAdresses.Any(e1 => e1.EMailAddress == userEMail) && u.UserPasswords.Any(e2 => e2.PasswordSaltedHash == passwordSaltedHash) select u; return users.Count(); returns: 1 even when there is nothing in password table. how come? what i am trying to do is get the values of email and passwordHash from two separate tables (UserEMailAddresses and UserPasswords) linked via foreign keys to the third table (Users). it should be simple - checking if email and password mach from form to database. but it is not working for me. i get 1 (for count) even when there are NO entries in the UserPasswords table. is the linq query above completely wrong, or...?

  • Better Flex memory profiling tools

    Does anyone know of any better tools that the Flex Builder Profiler? I've googled and googled to no avail. While the FB tools are OK for small apps / small leak situations, they're nowhere near adequate for wading through the thicket of object references that can arise in a large scale Flex app (that is leaking memory heavily). In particular, any reasonably complex view structure ends up with huge numbers of parent/child object references to the top level view - none of which are at all relevant to finding the one or two refs from outside the parent child subgraph that are causing the whole bolus to be non-GC'able. If no one has any better suggestions, I'm seriously considering writing a tool to parse the saved profile dumps that Flex Builder can generate so that I can do my own "graph pruning" to find the important refs. If I go this route, collaboration would be welcome!

    i have stumbled upon these GUI tools that could help you manage your linux server through a web interface. ebox, webmin, ispconfig, zivios, ispcp, plesk, cpanel etc. i wonder what the pros and cons are with these solutions. a lot of people is saying that they are not as good as using pure command line (ssh) to manage your server. but i think thats yet another "linux are for advanced users" talk. i agree that some things may only be done with the command line by editing directly in the configuration files. but i don't really want to do that every time and for everything. its like not having phpmyadmin for managing mysql. it would be a pain in the ass right? so if one wants to throw up a web server serving a php site oneself developed and wants all the usual stuff up and running (mysql, phpmyadmin, svn, webdav etc) is these tools the right way to go?

    Hello, I'm newbie in GPU programming , and i work on brute force RAR Password Recovery on ATI Stream Processor using brook+ language, but i see that the kernel written in brook+ language doesn't allow any calling to normal functions (except kernel functions) , my questions is : 1) how to use unrar.dll (to unrar archive files) API in this situation? and is this the only way to program RAR password recovery? 2) what about crack and ElcomSoft software that use GPU , how they work ? 3) what exactly the role for the function work inside GPU (ATI Stream processor or CUDA) in this program? 4) is nVidia/CUDA technology is easier/more flexible than ATI/brook+ language ?

    Does anyone know what unit testing tools are available when developing Tibco processes? In the next few months I'll be working on a Tibco project and I'm trying to find any existing unit testing frameworks that might make the job easier to build with a TDD approach. Thus far, the only one I've been able to locate is called BWUnit. It seems ok but its currently in beta and its commercial software. If possible I'd like to use an open source tool but as long as it is able to do a good job I'd be happy. So does anyone know of any other unit testing tools for Tibco development?

    What is the proper way to do error-checking in a class? Raising exceptions? Setting an instance variable dictionary "errors" that contains all the errors and returning it? Is it bad to print errors from a class? Do I have to return False if I'm raising an exception? Just want to make sure that I'm doing things right.     Hello, I am building a RoR app, a community. With a User model and some fields. So when a user is updating a certain field, like His/Hers berthday. Then i want to validate that the User typed in the password that is the same in the Database. So I know that it is the right user trying to change the birthday. So i ask you how i can create shuch a validator. Allso i would like to be able to specify an array of which fields the user has to validate the password to change. Ps. I am using RoR3. If it mathers.   • Maven:install jar file during build process

    I have got a requirement as follows. I need to run ant build file during maven build process. I need to invoke the build.xml from my pom.xml file. I have done that using maven-antrun-plugin. Now I need to install the ant build generated jar file automatically into my local repository before maven compiles my project source. I tried using build-helper-maven-plugin but it did not help. In particular, I care about Clearcase vs Sourcesafe vs SVN, but if the report includes other SCM systems that's fine. I need this for a client who wants to get a feel on exactly what they stand to gain switching to SVN (yes, from Clearcase and VSS). In other words, something I can use to sell it to their business.   • Batch build using IAR tools

    I am trying to do a batch build of a project using IAR tools. The processor is a CC2530, and it builds fine in the IDE. I have followed the documentation for batch build (Project/Batch Build) and created a .cspy file that is suppose to be my batch file, but in the comments in that file it indicates that I need a debug file (.ubrof) to execute with it. I can't find a .ubrof file and I have searched the whole project directory structure. Also, I want my batch build to build a production version without the debugging information. Where do I get a .ubrof file? How do I do a production batch build using IAR tools?
