• Help me understand JavaScript events

  I have a table full of cells and i would like to get on which cell the mouse is. For this i have attached events to all the cells and then i am finding the elements. But i guess there could be a better options. right ? Is it possible that i attach only single event handler on top and still be able to catch all the information. like which cell user is currently on etc. Something like below, <table onMouseOver="monitorFuntion(event)" >...</table>

• Need help unformatting text

  I am currently programming a Visual C# service to receive emails from various sources then I take certain info and organize it in a database using Regex to retrieve the deferent cell values (such as header, body, problem, cost, etc.etc.). My problem is that I am currently using a Hotmail account to email the service which the service then extracts data and writes it to a csv file; however this is all going fine an dandy except for the fact that the text is formated so when there is a "\n" or something of the sort, the program decides to not input the data that follows that into the cell. • Help installing Zorba (XQUERY) PHP Extension on windows

  Hi, I'm trying to install zorba php extension on windows and I am having all sorts of problems. I have installed the zorba binaries on my computer, but when I try to install the PECL package (pecl install zorba-alpha) I get the following error "ERROR: the DSP zorba.dsp does not exist". I've tried searching for zorba_api.dll or zorba_api.so in order to just bypass the pecl install process, but no luck. If anyone can tell me how to get the zorba extension installed on my windows php I will be eternally grateful. Alternately, if someone knows of another xquery solution for PHP that I can install, I will be equally excited and appreciative. Thank you! Davey

  I have to query a Message that is in a provided list of Groups and has not been Deactivated by the current user. Here is some pseudo code to illustrate the properties and entities: class Message { private int messageId; private String messageText; } class Group { private String groupId; private int messageId; } class Deactivated { private String userId; private int messageId; } Here is an idea of what I need to query for, it's the last AND clause that I don't know how to do (I made up the compound NOT IN expression). Filtering the deactivated messages by userId can result in multiple messageIds, how can I check if that subset of rows does not contain the messageId?   I am having problems getting my head around grouping and sorting in xaml and hope someone can get me straightened out! I have creaed an xml file from a tree of files and folders (just like windows explorer) that can be serveral levels deep. I have bound a TreeView control to an xml datasource and it works great! It sorts everything alphabetically but ...   rig: win7 64bit, vs2010, mvc v2, TestDriven.Net 3.0, Reshaper 5.0, MSpec 0.3 i recently started a new project and want to use mspec. (1) copied Machine.Specifications.ReSharperRunner.5.0.dll and Machine.Specifications.dll to JetBrains\ReSharper\5.0\Bin\Plugins\Machine.Specifications (2) copied Machine.Specifications.TDNetRunner.dll to TestDriven.NET 3\Machine.Specifications when i try to run the test i get this error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Machine.Specifications i don't know where this error is coming from. vs2010 menu - ReSharper -Plugins shows the MSpec plugin. vs2010 menu -ReSharper - Options - Tools - Unit Testing also shows the MSpec unit testing provider but it doesn't show any details when i click on it as does MSTest and nUnit. i found this: http://marcinobel.com/index.php/mspec-bdd-installer/ which didn't work. i also tried this: http://eduncan911.com/blog/registering-mspec-runners-for-testdriven-net-on-windows-x64.aspx which also didn't work. now i fear i screwed my registry. any guidance?

  Hi drupal pals, im using drupal 6.15 and doing my first project in drupal . i got an issue while running the below query with db_query i have drupal,delhi keywords in column 'tag' with table name tagging. db_query(SELECT * FROM {tagging} WHERE tag LIKE '%drup%') wont retrieve the correct output. it show null but the query modified like this, db_query(SELECT * FROM {tagging} WHERE tag LIKE 'drup%') retrieve "drupal" as output finally i used the php core mysql_query mysql_query(SELECT * FROM tagging WHERE tag LIKE '%drup%') it retrieve the exact n correct output "drupal" . is any one have solution , Thanxs, Gobi

• Help with inner content box margins/padding

  I am working on a layout for a new site, and I'm having some trouble achieving what I want with the CSS. First of all, I want everything to always stay within the view of the current browser window, with scroll being in my content and not the browser itself. I have an outermost DIV which acts as my "wrapper" for the site displayed centered, with a set width, and having 100% height of the bowser window. Inside of this I place a header and all of this works as intended in all interested browsers. However, once I place my actual content DIV inside this "wrapper" I am unable to define it to be the size I want. If I simply give it margins or padding to make up for the header I have absolutely positioned, the content will overflow and I can't set scroll. And if I try to set the size directly, there are no values I can put in that will work since the margins/padding will add to the size and it will now be bigger than the current browser window, and overflow. Are there any styles people can think of I can use on the wrapper/content DIV(s) to get the desired look? Here is a diagram illustrating the look I want.

  I'm creating a program that checks if a word or phrase is a palindrome. I have the actual "palindrome tester" figured out. What I'm stuck with is where and what to place in my code to have the console read out "Enter palindrome..." and then text. I've tried with IO but it doesnt work out right. Also, how do I create a loop to keep going? • I'm going to write 'Unit of Work', please help me find out all gimmicks

  Hi everybody, I'm going to write my own DAL in C#. I decided to use 'Unit of Work' pattern (next mentioned as uow) with request as a scope and Identity map stored in HttpContext.Items. I have right now question about implementing of CRUD methods. How/where are they implemented? Are they implemented in every single business class (as in active records pattern) or are implemented somehow in uow class (if so, how)? I also suppose that I need to use as the scope not just the request, but also the db connection. But how? Should I open the connection a the start of the request and close it on uow disposing? Every advice is strongly appreciated, especially Your "real world" experiences. Thank you all :)

• AntFarm anti-pattern -- strategies to avoid, antidotes to help heal from

  I'm working on a 10 page web site with a database back-end. There are 500+ objects in use, trying to implement the MVP pattern in ASP.Net. I'm tracing the code-execution from a single-page, my finger has been on F-11 in Visual Studio for about 40 minutes, there seems to be no end, possibly 1000+ method calls for one web page! If it was just 50 objects that would be one thing, however, code execution snakes through all these objects just like millions of ants frantically woring in their giant dirt mound house, riddled with object tunnels. Hence, a new anti-pattern is born : AntFarm. AntFarm is also known as "OO-Madnes", "OO-Fever", OO-ADD, or simply design-pattern junkie. This is not the first time I've seen this, nor my associates at other companies. It seems that this style is being actively propogated, or in any case is a misunderstanding of the numerous OO/DP gospels going around... I'd like to introduce an anti-pattern to the anti-pattern: GST or "Get Stuff Done" AKA "Get Sh** done" AKA GRD (GetRDone). This pattern focused on just what it says, getting stuff done, in a simple way. I may try to outline it more in a later post, or please share your ideas on this antidote pattern. Anyway, I'm in the midst of a great example of AntFarm anti-pattern as I write (as a bonus, there is no documentation or comments). Please share you thoughts on how this anti-pattern has become so prevelant, how we can avoid it, and how can one undo or deal with this pattern in a live system one must work with!

• Help make sense of a KillDisk error/log

  I have a hard drive that I've been trying to reformat. I tried reformatting it in the windows XP and 7 installers, and in an Ubuntu live cd with gparted. I tried using dd to 'zero' the drive as well with no success. Finally I ran across KillDisk after a search. • mysql error using Rails-- Please help

  Alright I am sry for the noob question but this has been driving me up a wall-especially because I got it to work yesterday and I can't remember what I did.... I am just trying to use mysql with rails with a mongrel server. I've replaced Itarator implmentation with one deriving from std::iterator and the issue persisted, so this is not iterator_facade fault. This problem exists only on msvc 2008 SP1 x86 and amd64 release builds. Debug builds on msvc 2008 and debug/release builds on msvc 2010 and gcc 4.4 (linux) works fine. Furthermore the BOOST_FOREACH block must be repeaded exacly 10 times. If it's repeaded 9 times, it's all OK. I guess that due to BOOST_FOREACH use of template trickery (const auto_any), compiler assumes that iterator handle is constant and never reads its real value again. I would be very happy to hear that my code is wrong, correct it and move on with BOOST_FOREACH, which I'm very found of (as opposed to BOOST_FOREVER :).
