  • iPhone - strange error when testing on simulator

    Hi I was testing my app on the simulator when it crashed on clicking a button of a UIAlertView. I stopped debugging there, made some changes to the code and built the app again. Now when I run the application, I get this error in the console Couldn't register com.myApp.debug with the bootstrap server. Error: unknown error code. This generally means that another instance of this process was already running or is hung in the debugger.Program received signal: “SIGABRT”. I tried removing the app from the simulator, doing a clean build but I still get this error when I try to run the app. Can someone please let me know what I should do to be able to run the app on my simulator again.   • use of EntityManagerFactory causing duplicate primary key exceptions

    Hey guys, my goal is create an EntityManager using properties dependent on which database is in use. I've seen something like this done in all my Google searches(I made the code more basic for the purpose of this question): @PersistenceUnit private EntityManagerFactory emf; private EntityManager em; private Properties props; @PostConstruct public void createEntityManager(){ //if oracle set oracle properties else set postgres properties emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("app-x"); em = emf.createEntityManager(props); } This works and I can load Oracle or Postgres properties successfully and I can Select from either database. HOWEVER, I am running into issues when doing INSERT statements. Whenever an INSERT is done I get a duplicate primary key exception.. every time! Can anyone shed some light on why this may be happening? Thanks -Brad

  • Can you review my Perl rewrite of Cucumber?

    There is a team working on acceptance testing X11 GUI application in our company, and they created a monstrous acceptance testing framework that drives the GUI as well as running scenarios. The framework is written using Perl 5, and scenario files look more like very complex Perl programs (thousands of lines long with procedural-programming style) than acceptance tests. I recently learned Ruby's Cucumber, and generally have been using Ruby for quite a lot of time. But unfortunately I can't just shove Ruby to replace Perl because the people who are writing all of this don't know Ruby and it's quite certain that they wont want "this" kind of interruption. So to bring Ruby's Cucumber a bit closer to their work, I rewrote it using Perl 5. Unfortunately I am really not a Perl programmer, and would love to get a code review and to hear suggestions from people who both know Perl and Cucumber. Hi Perl/Cucumber StackOverflow users - please help me create this "open source" attempt to re-create Cucumber for Perl! I would love to hear your comments and will accept any acceptable help.   • How to inject a Session Bean into a Message Driven Bean?

    Hi guys, I'm reasonably new to JEE, so this might be stupid.. bear with me pls :D I would like to inject a stateless session bean into a message-driven bean. Basically, the MDB gets a JMS message, then uses a session bean to perform the work. The session bean holds the business logic. Here's my Session Bean: @Stateless public class TestBean implements TestBeanRemote { public void doSomething() { // business logic goes here } } The matching interface: @Remote public interface TestBeanRemote { public void doSomething(); } Here's my MDB: @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jms/mvs.TestController", activationConfig = { @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "acknowledgeMode", propertyValue = "Auto-acknowledge"), @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Queue") }) public class TestController implements MessageListener { @EJB private TestBean testBean; public TestController() { } public void onMessage(Message message) { testBean.doSomething(); } } So far, not rocket science, right?   • Problems with zend-tool reporting that providers are not valid

    I have recently setup XAMPP 1.7.3 and ZendFramework 1.10.4 on a new computer and many of the commands that I normally use now fail. Here are the steps I used to setup and test ZF. First I added the ZF library folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\library) to the include path in php.ini. Then I added the ZF bin folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\bin) to my Path system variable. To test that everything is configured correctly I ran the command "zf show version" from the command line. The result is "Zend Framework Version: 1.9.6". Immediately something appears to be wrong. The file that is downloaded is "ZendFramework-1.10.4.zip" and the reported version is 1.9.6. I have re-downloaded the latest version (1.10.4) and removed old copy. Still the incorrect version number problem persisted. Having done some research there is a bug in the ZF knowledgebase that version 1.10.3 reports a wrong version number. So that may explain the version number problem. Moving forward I tried to run some zf-tool commands and certain commands reports that the action or provider is not valid. Example: C:\xampp\htdocs>zf create project test Creating project at C:/xampp/htdocs/test C:\xampp\htdocs>cd test C:\xampp\htdocs\test>zf create controller Test Creating a controller at C:\xampp\htdocs\test/application/controllers/TestController.php ... C:\xampp\htdocs\test>zf create form Test An Error Has Occurred Provider 'form' is not a valid provider. ... Can any one provide insight into these errors and how to correct them?

  • Using SimpleModal with jstestdriver?

    Hello, I'm using simpleModal to display a dialog, and I want to be able to tell if it has been displayed or not using jstestdriver. In my browser when I display the dialog it sets the className to "simplemodal-data" on the id of the content I'm displaying, but when I do the same thing in jstestdriver it's like the .modal() function doesn't even do anything. Is there something I'm missing here? Also see this related thread.

  • Problem with testing In App with sandbox test account

    Hi, I created a test user account through the Manage User Accounts in iTunes Connect. When you create such an account you have to select a valid storefront for your account. I chose US Store. Now I signed out from the store in App Store settings on my device. Ran the application and tried to perform a purchase. I successfully login with my test account. After I press Confirm when entering my credentials I get an alert, that comes from SKPaymentTransactionStateFailed from the observer. It says "Your account is only valid for purchases in the US iTunes Store". The error state = 0 unknown. Second time when i try to perform the purchase, StoreKit only asks me for a password like the previous login was successful. After entering a password I can perform a purchase. My question is whether it's only because it's a testing account and the application is not actually on AppStore? What should I do to avoid this message or at least to continue the purchasing process?   • When using a mocking framework and MSPEC where do you set your stubs

    I am relatively new to using MSpec and as I write more and more tests it becomes obvious to reduce duplication you often have to use a base class for your setup as per Rob Conery's article I am happy with using the AssertWasCalled method to verify my expectations, but where do you set up a stub's return value, I find it useful to set the context in the base class injecting my dependencies but that (I think) means that I need to set my stubs up in the Because delegate which just feels wrong. Is there a better approach I am missing?

    I want to integrate AdMob ads in my iPhone app. I'm using IB way to add the view and follow AdMob's pdf guide: 1. Add AdMob group(AdMobView.h,AdMobDelegateProtocol.h,libAdMob.a) 2. Add required frameworks(AudioToolbox,MediaPlayer,MessageUI,QuartzCore) 3. Add TouchJSON group 4. Add IBSupport group(AdViewController.h,AdViewController.m) 5. Add a 320*48 UIView in IB, add NSObject and change its class to AdViewController, link AdViewController's view to the 320*48 UIView and link AdViewController's viewController to current view controller. Now the iPhone simulator can show ads from AdMob, but when I test it on real device, I get the error "AdMob: Did fail to receive ad". I've tried to add test device's UDID to testDevices array, but still get the same error. - (NSArray *)testDevices { return [NSArray arrayWithObjects: ADMOB_SIMULATOR_ID, DEVICE_UDID, nil]; } Is there any problem in the above steps? Does anybody know why can't I get the ads in real device? By the way, what should be changed to build for real for-sale app, not just for test?

  • Any suggestions for testing extjs code in a browser, preferably with selenium?

    We've been using selenium with great success to handle high-level website testing (in addition to extensive python doctests at a module level). However now we're using extjs for a lot of pages and its proving difficult to incorporate Selenium tests for the complex components like grids. Has anyone had success writing automated tests for extjs-based web pages? Lots of googling finds people with similar problems, but few answers. Thanks!

    I recently took an online test on codility as part of a recruitment process. I was given two simple problems to solve in 1 hour. For those who don't know codility, its an online coding test site where you can solve ACM style problems in many different languages. if you have 30 or so mins then check this http://codility.com/demo/run/ My weapon of choice is usually Java. So on of the problems I have is as follows (I will try to remember, should have taken a screenshot) Lets say you have array A[0]=1 A[1]=-1 ....A[n]=x Then what would be the smartest way to find out the number of times when A[i]+A[j] is even where i < j So if we have {1,2,3,4,5} we have 1+3 1+5 2+4 3+5 = 4 pairs which are even The code I wrote was some thing along the lines int sum=0; for(int i=0;i<A.length-1;i++){ for (int j=i+1;j<A.length;j++){ if( ((A[i]+A[j])%2) == 0 && i<j) { sum++; } } } There was one more restriction that if the number of pairs is greater than 1e9 then it should retrun -1, but lets forget it. Can you suggest a better solution for this. The number of elements won't exceed 1e9 in normal cases. I think I got 27 points deducted for the above code (ie it's not perfect). Codility gives out a detailed assessment of what went wrong, I don't have that right now.

I'm looking to make a final decision on our mocking framework of choice moving forward as a best practice - I've decided on Moq... untill I just recently discovered MS has finally created a mocking framework called Moles which seems to work similar to TypeMock via the profiler API sexyness etc.. There's a million 'NMock vs Moq vs TypeMock vs Rhino....' threads on here. But I never see Moles involved.In fact, I did not even know if its existence until a short time ago. Anyone using it? In Production? Anyone dump their old mocking framework for it, and if so, which one? How did it compare to ther mocking frameworks you've used? thanks.. ps, we are using VS2008 and are moving to 2010 shortly.

I want to mock just a single method/property on a concrete object I've created... In TypeMock, I would just do Isolate.WhenCalled(bar.PrivateGetter).Returns('whatever value').. Any ideas?

Is there any way to access the data stored in 'Data' from Unit1 without getting errors?

  • Mocking inter-method dependencies

    I've recently started using mock objects in my tests, but I'm still very inexperienced with them and unsure of how to use them in some cases. At the moment I'm struggling with how to mock inter-method dependencies (calling method A has an effect on the results of method B), and whether it should even be mocked (in the sense of using a mocking framework) at all? Take for example a Java Iterator? It is easy enough to mock the next() call to return the correct values, but how do I mock hasNext(), which depends on how many times next() has been called? Currently I'm using a List.Iterator as I could find no way to properly mock one. Does Martin Fowler's distinction between mocks and stubs come into play here? Should I rather write my own IteratorMock? Also consider the following example. The method to be tested calls mockObject.setX() and later on mockObject.getX(). Is there any way that I can create such a mock (without writing my own) which will allow the returned value of getX to depend on what was passed to setX?

    Hi, I have a class that starts with: public class GeneralID implements WritableComparable<GeneralID>{ ... } And another that is: public class LineValuesMapper<KI, VI, KO, VO> extends Mapper<LongWritable, Text, Text, IntWritable>{ ... } All methods in these classes are covered. But not their header. The header of both classes gets painted as yellow with EclEmma. Is there anything I can do to fully cover the class header?
