    I have installed Tomcat on windows XP through the Tomcat installer. I have installed JDK 1.6.   • Games with user-supplied artifical intelligence (AI) engines?

    I remember Microsoft used to have this AI game for the .NET framework which allowed you to program a species and this species could be introduced to an "ecosystem" full of species that other people had programmed and they could interact with each other, etc. I can't remember what it was called, but I remembered thinking it was a pretty good idea. Are there any other similiar sites like that, which allows you to design some sort of AI engine and pit it against other programmer's creations? It could be an ecosystem type thing, or it could be a card or board game.

  • Creating a blocked user intercepter in Grails

    I am working on a social site where users can block other users. Throughout the site --dozens of places, user information is displayed. For example, user comments, reply forms, online user list.. etc etc.. The problem is that given the high number of places user info is displayed, it's becoming very difficult to check each time if that user is blocked. For example: <g:each var="comment" in="${comments}"> <g:if test="!${loggedInUser.blockedUsers.find { it == comment.user}"> show comment </g:if> </g:each> Does Grails provide any functionality that would facilitate creating some kind of filter or intercepter where I could simply exclude blocked users when iterating lists, etc? If not, what would you suggest I do?

  • Anyone have a script to delete a specific local windows profile?

    I'm looking for Powershell (preferred) script, or .CMD or .VBS, to delete a specific user profile on a workstation (WinXP) or terminal server (2000, '03 or '08). I know all about the delprof utility... That only allows you delete based on a period of inactivity. I want a script to: prompt admin for a username delete that username's profile and to delete the entire profile - registry hive too (not just the folder structure within Documents and Settings). The same way it would if you went to My Computer Properties Advanced tab User Profiles Settings and deleted profiles from there. Any ideas? All I can think of is doing an AD lookup to get the SID of the user specified, then using that to delete the correct registry hive too... something simpler would be nice though... Basically, my HelpDesk used to be local administrators on our Citrix servers and a common fix for various issues was for them to delete a user's profile on the citrix server(s) and have that user log back in - voila, whatever issue they had was resolved. Going forward, in new Citrix environment, they will no longer be local admins on those boxes, but still need to be able to delete profiles (deleting the entire profile: folder and reg hive is key). thanks.

  • Connect to wifi ubuntu 14.04 (new ubuntu user)

    I have recently changed my operating system from windows 8 to ubuntu 14.04, when trying to connect to the network via wifi the system just keeps asking for my password over and over without connecting. The connectivity through an Ethernet cable is perfectly fine however and my wifi worked fine through windows 8, I have very little ubuntu knowledge so i apologise if the right information is not shown in this question. Just wondering if there was any known problems or if anyone has seen this before? Thanks in advance for any help, Tom

  • How to ignore the validation of Unknown tags ?

    One more challenge to the XSD capability,I have been sending XML files by my clients, which will be having 0 or more undefined or [call] unexpected tags (May appear in hierarchy). Well they are redundant tags for me .. so I have got to ignore their presence, but along with them there are some set of tags which are required to be validated. This is a sample XML: <root> <undefined_1>one</undefined_1> <undefined_2>two</undefined_2> <node>to_be_validated</node> <undefined_3>two</undefined_3> <undefined_4>two</undefined_4> </root> And the XSD I tried with: <xs:element name="root" type="root"></xs:element> <xs:complexType name="root"> <xs:sequence> <xs:any maxOccurs="2" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="node" type="xs:string"/> <xs:any maxOccurs="2" minOccurs="0"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType XSD doesn't allow this, due to certain reasons. The above mentioned example is just a sample. The practical XML comes with the complex hierarchy of XML tags .. Kindly let me know if you can get a hack of it. By the way, The alternative solution is to insert XSL-transformation, before validation process. Well, I am avoiding it because I need to change the .Net code which triggers validation process, which is supported at the least by my company.

    Okay I'm new here and I have been trying to figure this out all day I have two functions one calling the other but my functions only returns the last value for example 29 when it should return multiple values. As wondering how can I fix this problem so that my functions return all the values.     I'm working with a Berkeley database (in Java). I need to read a tuple where the sequence is a string, either an int or long, then another string. How can I determine if the tuple holds an int or a long? Depending on what the tuple holds, I'll do one of the following: String s1 = input.readString(); int num1 = input.readInt(); String s2= input.readString(); or String s1 = input.readString(); long num1 = input.readLong(); String s2= input.readString(); The int is 4 bytes and the long is 8 bytes. If the tuple holds an int and I read it in as a long, I get an invalid value as it converts the 4 byte int + 4 bytes of the following string into a long.

  • jQuery Horizontal scroll with unknown width of items

    I am creating a gallery using jQuery which displays pictures horizontally, with a "left" and "right" button below, that scrolls the row of images. There are plenty of tutorials and plugins for this. The problem for me though, is that 1) I don't know the width of the images. And 2) I need the item I scroll to, to be centered.     Let's say I allow users to link to any images they like. The link would be checked for syntactical correctness, escaping etc., and then inserted in an <img src="..."/> tag. Are there any known security vulnerabilities, e.g. by someone linking to "evil.example.com/evil.jpg", and evil.jpg contains some code that will be executed due to a browser bug or something like that? (Let's ignore CSRF attacks - it must suffice that I will only allow URLs with typical image file suffixes.)

    I have a CentOS 6.2 server. Whenever some one logs into the server using the terminal (SSH) the user profile (.bash_profile) is loaded. Now my question is, is there a profile that loads whenever you use SFTP to login into the server via "FTP browsing software" ( I use WinSCP ), I want to send an email whenever a user logs into the server via SFTP. I already have the code to do this when a user logs into the terminal (SSH) when his profile loads. Thanks

  • Skype audio always goes 'robotic' for the same user

    Someone I talk to on Skype a lot has a very persistent issue, where after a few minutes their voice goes very 'robotic'... still understandable but annoying. We can restart the call and it's fine, but fairly consistently after a few minutes it returns. He experiences this with other people too, not just me - I don't have anyone report problems with my audio quality. This is not an ISP issue - he gets the same problem on multiple PCs in different countries, in fact he's even recently moved to a different continent and got a new internet connection... same problem. It seems somehow to be a problem with his Skype account, which is really quite odd. It's been going on for months of not longer.

  • Display username to logged in user only?

    I have a Wordpress blog set up to display comments as "Anonymous User" by hard coding it into the comments.php file. I would like to have it say the user's Username next to their comment and ONLY display that Username to THEM. In other words, if they're a guest, they'll see "Anonymous User" and if they're a registered/logged in DIFFERENT user, they'll still see "Anonymous User", but if it's THEIR comment it'll say "Your Comment" or their own username.   • simple JQuery example is causing me troubles for unknown reason

I just followed a simple tutorial to start up with on http://docs.jquery.com/Tutorials:Getting_Started_with_jQuery So I specified my script in the : <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("a").click(function() { alert("Hello world!"); }); }); </script> and included a test link in the : <a href="">Link</a> however, when I refresh thet document my browser keeps saying TypeError: Property '$' of object [object Window] is not a function which I can understand for "normal" JavaScript but I believe this kind of function is new in JQuery.
