• Android , Read in binary data and write it to file

  Hi all , Im trying to read in image file from a server , with the code below . It keeps going into the exception. I know the correct number of bytes are being sent as I print them out when received. Im sending the image file from python like so #open the image file and read it into an object imgfile = open (marked_image, 'rb') obj = imgfile.read() #get the no of bytes in the image and convert it to a string bytes = str(len(obj)) #send the number of bytes self.conn.send( bytes + '\n') if self.conn.sendall(obj) == None: imgfile.flush() imgfile.close() print 'Image Sent' else: print 'Error' Here is the android part , this is where I'm having the problem. I have been at it since and the result of all my efforts have either resulted in a file that is not the full size or else the app crashing. I know the file is not corrupt before sending server side. As far as I can tell its definitely sending too as the send all method in python sends all or throws an exception in the event of an error and so far it has never thrown an exception. So the client side is messed up . I have to send the file from the server so I cant use the suggestion suggested by Brian .

  I can have a table and function defined as: CREATE TABLE mytable ( mycol integer ); INSERT INTO mytable VALUES (1); CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION myfunction (l_myvar integer) RETURNS mytable AS $$ DECLARE l_myrow mytable; BEGIN SELECT * INTO l_myrow FROM mytable WHERE mycol = l_myvar; RETURN l_myrow; END; $$ LANGUAGE plpgsql; In this case l_myvar acts as a bind variable for the value passed when I call: SELECT * FROM myfunction(1); and returns the row where mycol = 1 If I redefine the function as: CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION myfunction (l_myvar integer) RETURNS mytable AS $$ DECLARE l_myrow mytable; BEGIN SELECT * INTO l_myrow FROM mytable WHERE mycol IN (l_myvar); RETURN l_myrow; END; $$ LANGUAGE plpgsql; SELECT * FROM myfunction(1); still returns the row where mycol = 1 However, if I now change the function definition to allow me to pass an integer array and try to this array in the IN clause, I get an error: CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION myfunction (l_myvar integer[]) RETURNS mytable AS $$ DECLARE l_myrow mytable; BEGIN SELECT * INTO l_myrow FROM mytable WHERE mycol IN (array_to_string(l_myvar, ',')); RETURN l_myrow; END; $$ LANGUAGE plpgsql; Analysis reveals that although: SELECT array_to_string(ARRAY[1, 2], ','); returns 1,2 as expected SELECT * FROM myfunction(ARRAY[1, 2]); returns the error operator does not exist: integer = text at the line: WHERE mycol IN (array_to_string(l_myvar, ',')); If I execute: SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE mycol IN (1,2); I get the expected result. Given that array_to_string(l_myvar, ',') evaluates to 1,2 as shown, why arent these statements equivalent. From the error message it is something to do with datatypes, but doesnt the IN(variable) construct appear to be behaving differently from the = variable construct? What are the rules here? I know that I could build a statement to EXECUTE, treating everything as a string, to achieve what I want to do, so I am not looking for that as a solution. I do want to understand though what is going on in this example. Is there a modification to this approach to make it work, the particular example being to pass in an array of values to build a dynamic IN clause without resorting to EXECUTE? • extending spring form tag library attributes

  I'm using Spring's form tag library in a Spring MVC application that I am developing. The company I am working for has implemented some company-wide policies based on the definition of custom attributes for certain tags. For instance, by default (though the inclusion of a standard javascript file) all tags have their values automatically converted to upper case. In order to disable this one would define their tag with a custom attribute in the following way: <input type="text" uppercase="false" /> The problem is that the addition of these custom attributes to a spring:form tag causes an error at runtime. I've pasted the error below. org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /WEB-INF/jsp/reportCriteria.jsp(45,5) Attribute uppercase invalid for tag input according to TLD My question is: is there any way to extend the TLD to allow for these attributes, or is there any other way add these custom attributes to these spring:form tags?

• UITextField showing trash instead of characters

  There's quite a strange thing happening to text fields in application I'm developing (see image below).  [1]: http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/1449/zrzutekranu20100506godz.png At some point in the application I'm using    - (void) viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; [[(TextFieldView*)[self view] usernameTextField] becomeFirstResponder];    } Which results in the above image. If it's called in viewDidAppear - everything is fine. The funny thing about this error is that it breaks ALL text fields throught the application. Has anyone ever encountered such an error? Might it be related to openGL use?

  I've implemented a masstransit saga that works as should, a lot of times. However, there are times when the messages go to the error queue or just seem to disappear. I'd like to know: 1. How do I get the reason/exception message that causes a message to go to the error queue? (NOTE: My handler logic is within a try-catch block so apparently these errors happen even before the handler logic is called) 2. What could be responsible for the lost messages? Thanks in advance.

• Problem with loading compiled c code in R x64 using dyn.load

  I recently went from a 32bit laptop to a 64bit desktop (both win7). I just found out that I get an error now when loading dll's using dyn.load. I guess this is a simple mistake and I am overlooking something. For example, I write this simple c function (foo.c): void foo( int *x) {*x = *x + 1;} Then compile it in command prompt: R CMD SHLIB foo.c Then in 32bit R I can use it in R: > setwd("R") > dyn.load("foo.dll") > .C("foo",as.integer(1)) [[1]] [1] 2 but in 64bit R I get: > dyn.load("foo.dll") Error in inDL(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now), ...) : unable to load shared object 'C:/Users/Sacha/Documents/R/foo.dll': LoadLibrary failure: %1 is not a valid Win32 application. nd.

  I have various SQL files with '--' comments and we migrated to the latest version of MySQL and it hates these comments. I want to replace -- with #. I am looking for a recursive, inplace replace one-liner. The problem I'm facing is that App::import() doesn't seem to import the required class in the routes.php file.   Hi-- I'm stuck on a mySQL query using ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE. I'm getting the error: mySQL Error: 1062 - Duplicate entry 'hr2461809-3' for key 'fname' The table looks like this: id int(10) NOT NULL default '0', picid int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0', fname varchar(255) NOT NULL default '', type varchar(5) NOT NULL default '.jpg', path varchar(255) NOT NULL default '', PRIMARY KEY (id), UNIQUE KEY fname (fname), KEY picid (propid) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8; And the query that's breaking is this: INSERT INTO images SET picid=732, fname='hr2461809-3', path='pictures/' ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE picid=732, fname='hr2461809-3', path='pictures/' I'm using a very similar query elsewhere in the app with no issues. I'm not sure why this one breaks. I expected that when the UNIQUE KEY on fname gets violated, that it would simply update the row where the violation occurred? Thanks for any help

  I am trying to make a sitescraper. I made it on my local machine and it works very fine there. When I execute the same on my server, it shows a 403 forbidden error. I am using the PHP Simple HTML DOM Parser. • ctypes import not working on python 2.5

  Hi, I am trying to import ctypes, and I am using Python 2.5.5 installed using macports (on Mac OS X 10.6). I get an error saying "ImportError: No module named _ctypes" (see details below). As I understand it ctypes is supposed to come preinstalled for python 2.5. • Escaping and unescaping a string with single and double quotes in Javascript

  I have a search box that a user can search for any string including single AND double quotes, once they have searched, the backend is passing the keyword back to me so I can put it back in the box. I don't know what the string is so I can't escape quotes myself, below is an example: var keyword = "hello"; $("#selectionkeywords").val(); The issue I am having is that if the user enters "hello" the keyword becomes ""hello"" and I get this error: missing ) after argument list [Break On This Error] jQuery("#selectionkeywords").val(""hello""); The user could also enter single quotes so that rules it out as well. I tried using escape unescape but I still have the same issue e.g. escape(""hello"") I could get the value in an unescaped format e.g. "hello" but I don't know what to do with it, escape doesn't work on it I end up with this %26%23034%3Bhello%26%23034%3B So I'm pretty much stuck at the moment as I can't do anything to the string, any ideas?

• Asp.net project is not recognising one of the folders in my class library.

  I have two WIN32 DLL projects in the solution, main.dll should call a function in mgn.dll. mgn.dll has mgn.h header file: #ifdef MGN_EXPORTS #define MGN_API __declspec(dllexport) #else #define MGN_API __declspec(dllimport) #endif extern "C" bool MGN_API AttachMGN(void); and mgn.cpp source file: #include "stdafx.h" #include "mgn.h" MGN_API bool AttachMGN(void) { ... } main.dll calls AttachMGN function from one of the source file: #include "stdafx.h" #include "..\mgn\mgn.h" bool CreateClient() { return ::AttachMGN(); } mgn.dll compiles successfully. main.dll doesn't show any errors in VS text editor, I can navigate using "Go To Definition" function. However during build I get the error: error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _imp_AttachMGN referenced in function "bool __cdecl CreateClient(void)" (?CreateClient@@AW4XZ) Both DLLs compile into the same folder. DependencyWalker shows the function AttachMGN as exported. Main project has a dependency set to Mgn project, if that matters. I believe that I simply have overlooked something.... Thanks in advance.

  Hello All I am encountering an issue when I am trying to load a large result set using a range query in Oracle 10g. When I try a smaller range (1 to 100), it works but when I try a larger range(1 and 1000), I get the following error "ORA-22814: attribute or element value is larger than specified in type" error. I have a basic UDT (PostComments_Type) and I have tried using both a VArray and a Table type of PostComments_Type but that hasn't made a difference.   Hi, I am creating a software on Mac and I would like to change the value of an IORegistryEntry. I can view it on the IORegistryExplorer, but I can't edit it. So it's my understanding that I have to edit it via code.
