• Can str_replace be safely used on a UTF-8 encoded string if it's only given valid UTF-8 encoded stri

  PHP's str_replace() was intended only for ANSI strings and as such can mangle UTF-8 strings. However, given that it's binary-safe would it work properly if it was only given valid UTF-8 strings as arguments? Edit: I'm not looking for a replacement function, I would just like to know if this hypothesis is correct.

  I need a simple floating point rounding function, thus: double round(double); round(0.1) = 0 round(-0.1) = 0 round(-0.9) = -1 I can find ceil() and floor() in the math.h - but not round(). Is it present in the standard C++ library under another name, or is it missing??

Curiously, the ConceptTraits do not include traits to check if a C++ class defines a default constructor or given constructor? Can traits be used to check the constructor presence? If yes, how? If not, why it is not possible?

  Hey all, this is my first post. I recently upgraded a wordpress site, all things load but on the top of the page and bottom of the page I get this error. • Why thread specific data is required in pthread ?

  Hi As i know, all the threads share memory location. For example a global variable changes in one thread will reflect in another thread. Since each thread has its own stack, the local variables that are created inside the thread is unique. In this case, why do we need to go for thread specific data mechanism?.   When you hit the delete button a nice effect is run on that li and it is removed by using jquery's .remove() function. For some reason if i try to .size() on the parent ul it just still says the number of list items that were there when the page loaded?

  I have a debug .exe file that i want to run on other machines that don't have MS Visual Studio 2008 installed on them. How can this be done? The release option doesn't work as the application does not function correctly when build in release (not sure why).
