  • Wireless router DSL connection problem help

    I recently bought a wireless DSL router to replace my wired one. After quick setup however, the router does not connect to the Internet. Wireless connection between laptop and router exists and Internet can be connected through laptop(manually) by using router as WAN miniport(PPPoE). What I want to do is connect the wireless router to Internet so that when laptop connects to router, I can start using the Internet. How do I do this? Please help.

  • Windows 7 Remote Desktop Connection Rendering Each Frame?

    When connecting to my work computer over VPN and Remote Desktop Connection, images and videos are sent back one frame at a time, which really slows things down. I'm familiar with the "Experience" tab while connecting and the only options I have checked are "Visual styles" and "Persistent bitmap caching". Isn't it possible to work remotely that is more similar to screen sharing over Skype, where there is a lag but not every single frame has to be rendered and passed back to me one at a time? Both computers are running Windows 7 Professional.

    Is there any advantage or disadvantage to using multiple DNSBL's with ones connection filtering? I just switched from SpamHaus to BarracudaCentral but have added in SpamHaus to test for increased effectiveness. So far there is no dip in performance and no increased load on our SMTP server.

    When I try to use Curl on windows, to retrieve an https url, I get the dreaded "connection error (60)." The exact error message is: curl: (60) SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK.     My Windows CE Netbook connects to wireless network at work but can't connect at home. I tried it at work just to test that the WiFi on the Netbook does actually work and it was fine (if a bit slow) It can see the connection, and the signal, tries to "Associate" with my home network but "Fails" it will sometimes retry Encryption is set to TKIP Authentication WPA-PSK EAP Type TLS I have tried all sorts of other settings but there seems to be very little to try?? My Modem is a DLink Wireless ADSL Router G604T Would appreciate some help if possible.

  • Sharing an internet connection via crossover capable without changing IP settings

    I have a home wireless network and two laptops. My primary laptop is normal, and runs Windows 7. My secondary laptop has no wireless capability, and I have no access to the IP settings on my account. How can I access the internet on my secondary computer through my primary computer using a crossover cable or something similar? In other words, how can I make my primary computer produce a connection that my secondary computer will find indistinguishable from normal ethernet?

    I've wrote a simple batch file to connect to a specific VPN connection using RASDIAL rasdial MyVPNConnection but it always returned the error 691 Access denied because username and/or password is invalid on the domain. Remote Access Service (RAS) Error Code List then i tried pointing to my Remote Access Phonebook (Rasphone.pbk) and see what happens rasdial MyVPNConnection /phonebook:%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk\rasphone.pbk and still there was an error 691. I've then unchecked the following but still the same problem was reported when executing my batch file.

Even when using credentials from Computer Client I (which are not in ADDS) the connection still only goes to the server.

    My computer is booting but has no display. The optical drive has power, but the USB doesn't, so I figured that I had a broken motherboard. However I tried to boot my computer again laying flat, and it worked fine for two seconds, and then froze like it did the first time. It had no display after that. I have come to the conclusion that it is a connection problem (someone had a similar problem on one of the online forums).

    Recently when trying to access a Wordpress blog from a my network I get this error: Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. If I request that URL from another connection (ie: remote desktop into another network and try from there), it works perfectly. Anyone got suggestions/ideas on why from my network the site errors, but from others it loads?

  • SSH Connection Refused - Debug using Recovery Console

    Hey everyone, I have found a ton of questions answered about debugging why one cannot connect via SSH, but they all seem to require that you can still access the system - or say that without that nothing can be done. In my case, I cannot access the system directly, but I do have access to the filesystem using a recovery console. So this is the situation: My provider made some kernel update today and in the process also rebooted my server. For some reason, I cannot connect via SSH anymore, but instead get a ssh: connect to host mydomain.de port 22: Connection refused I do not know whether sshd is just not running, or whether something (e.g. iptables) blocks my ssh connection attempts. I looked at the logfiles, none of the files in /var/log contain any mentioning on ssh, and /var/log/auth.log is empty. Before the kernel update, I could log in just fine and used certificates so that I would not need a password everytime I connect from my local machine. What I tried so far: I looked in /etc/rc*.d/ for a link to the /etc/init.d/ssh script and found none. So I am expecting that sshd is not started properly on boot. Since I cannot run any programs in my system, I cannot use update-rc to change this. I tried to make a link manually using ln -s /etc/init.d/ssh /etc/rc6.d/K09sshd and restarted the server - this did not fix the problem. I do not know wether it is at all possible to do it like this and whether it is correct to create it in rc6.d and whether the K09 is correct. I just copied that from apache.     I just made some changes to a DNS zone in Webmin and clicked the "Apply Changes" button. I received the error message: rndc: connection to remote host closed This may indicate that the remote server is using an older version of the command protocol, this host is not authorized to connect, or the key is invalid How can I troubleshoot / repair this? I copied parts of the BIND config from a failing server, so I suspect that's what causing it...

    I would like to make a VNC connection from home to a Windows machine at work. The Windows machine is not accessible from the outside, but there is a Linux box that does have port 22 open, so it would seem that this can be done. I suspect it's just a command that "forwards" connections to port 22 on the Linux machine to the Windows machine? Just can't find an example that does exactly this though Thanks in advance!

    I am getting the following message when attempting to connect to our company's SVN repository - the same error occurs whether I try from the OSX command line or Eclipse. Any ideas on where to troubleshoot?
