  Hi all, I am newbie for integer linear programming. I plan to use a integer linear programming solver to solve my combinational optimization problem. I am more familiar with C++/object oriented programming on an IDE. Now I am using NetBeans with Cygwin to write my applications most of time. May I ask if there is an easy use ILP solver for me?   Is it possible to ignore mapping a member depending on the value of a source property? For example if we have: public class Car { public int Id { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } } public class CarViewModel { public int Id { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } } I'm looking for something like Mapper.CreateMap<CarViewModel, Car>() .ForMember(dest => dest.Code, opt => opt.Ignore().If(source => source.Id == 0)) So far the only solution I have is too use two different view model and create different mappings for each one.

• Dns.GetHostEntry returns multiple IP addresses

  This question probably highlights a lack of understanding of networking principals on my part, rather than a programming issue. I'm doing a lookup on a hostname using Dns.GetHostEntry This returns an IPHostEntry to me, which has an AddressList property which is an array of IPAddress. I always thought there is a 1 to 1 mapping between hostname and IP, but I'm finding that in some cases I get back several IPAddress(es) for the same host. This is a surprise to me. Which part of domain name resolution do I not understand?

  Hi all I am trying to follow the Android mapping tutorial and got to this part where I had to get an API key http://code.google.com/android/add-ons/google-apis/mapkey.html#getdebugfingerprint I have found my debug.keystore but there does not appear to be a keytool application in the directory: C:\Documents and Settings\tward\.androidls adb_usb.ini avd debug.keystore repositories.cfg androidtool.cfg ddms.cfg default.keyset There is also no keytool in this directory: C:\Android\android-sdk-windows\toolsls AdbWinApi.dll apkbuilder.bat etc1tool.exe mksdcard.exe AdbWinUsbApi.dll ddms.bat fastboot.exe source.properties Jet dmtracedump.exe hierarchyviewer.bat sqlite3.exe NOTICE.txt draw9patch.bat hprof-conv.exe traceview.bat adb.exe emulator.exe layoutopt.bat zipalign.exe android.bat emulator_NOTICE.txt lib I am using eclipse as my editor and believe that I have downloaded all the latest SDK What am I doing wrong?   This is JavaScript regex. regex = /(http:\/\/[^\s]*)/g; text = "I have http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd and I like http://google.com a lot"; matches = text.match(regex); console.log(matches); I get both the urls in the result. However I want to eliminate all the urls ending with .dtd . How do I do that? Note that I am saying ending with .dtd should be removed. It means a url like http://a.dtd.google.com should pass .

• Virtual Earth / Bing maps javascript file size

  I am working with a site that uses virtual earth for its mapping. Unfortunately the file size of the referenced javascript file, ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx?v=6.2, is 200 something kb before being expanded (to 970kb). As our site runs under https this file is not cached on the client, and can cause a few seconds delay to users, made more substantial in times of high load. My question is, is there anyway to get virtual earth to run smaller, or have more efficient lazy loading? At the moment it looks like our hands are tied.

• Global Handler in IIS7 (Classic Mode) gives "Failed to Execute" error

  I have made a custom handler called MyIndexHandler and I want it to handle *.index requests, now as I want this handler to be executed by any website, I installed my handler with following two steps in IIS manager. Add MyIndexHandler.dll in GAC Add Managed Module for *.index, the drop down in IIS displays my index handler correctly so it means it did find it correctly from the GAC. I added Script map for aspnet_isapi.dll for *.index (this is required for classic mode) Now in any of my website if I try xyz.index, my handler does not get called and it returns "Failed to execute URL", now this only happens when IIS is unable to find the mapped handler, but I already have defined mapped handler at IIS level and when i try to add entry in web.config manually for this handler, it tells me you can not define multiple handler, it means that IIS finds my handler, mapping but for some reason it does not execute it.

• Multiple synonym dictionary matches in PostgreSQL full text searching

  I am trying to do full text searching in PostgreSQL 8.3. It worked splendidly, so I added in synonym matching (e.g. 'bob' == 'robert') using a synonym dictionary. That works great too. But I've noticed that it apparently only allows a word to have one synonym. That is, 'al' cannot be 'albert' and 'allen'. Is this correct? Is there any way to have multiple dictionary matches in a PostgreSQL synonym dictionary? For reference, here is my sample dictionary file: bob robert bobby robert al alan al albert al allen And the SQL that creates the full text search config: CREATE TEXT SEARCH DICTIONARY nickname (TEMPLATE = synonym, SYNONYMS = nickname); CREATE TEXT SEARCH CONFIGURATION dxp_name (COPY = simple); ALTER TEXT SEARCH CONFIGURATION dxp_name ALTER MAPPING FOR asciiword WITH nickname, simple; What am I doing wrong?   I have defined a collection in Hibernate like this: ... public class Item { ... @ElementCollection List<Object> relatedObjects; } It creates a mapping table with colums item_id and object_id. The problem is that object_id seems to be unique. In other words I can not have two different items being related to the same object. But that is what I want. I would like the combination of item_id and object_id to be unique. How do I do that?

• Handling hundreds of actions in Struts2

  Hi all, I've inherited a struts 1 web application where, in order to reduce the number of Action classes (I guess this is the reason), lots of actions are mapped inside a single Action class, like: public XXXAction() throws Exception{ actions = new Hashtable(); actions.put("/XXX/main/load", new Integer(0)); actions.put("/XXX/main/save", new Integer(1)); ...... } public ActionForward executeAction(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form, HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException, ServletException { try { switch (((Integer) actions.get(action)).intValue()) { case 0: loadXXXMain(); break; case 1: ....... and so on (in some Action classes I have almost one hundred of these small actions). Now I'm looking at migrate to struts2 and I would like to have a cleaner and better solution to handle this, maybe without having a single Action class for each of these small classes. What do you suggest? I don't like this solution, but I don't like having hundreds of Action classes.... Thanks! Roberto

• Linq-to-sql Compiled Query is returning result from different DataContext

  Compiled query: public static Func<OperationalDataContext, short, Machine> QueryMachineById = CompiledQuery.Compile((OperationalDataContext db, short machineID) => db.Machines.Where(m => m.MachineID == machineID).SingleOrDefault()); It looks like compiled query is caching Machine object and returning the same object even if query is called from new DataContext (I’m disposing DataContext in the service but I’m getting Machine from previous DataContext). I use POCOs and XML mapping. Revised: It looks like compiled query is returning result from new data context and it is not using the one that I passed in compiled-query. Therefore I can not reuse returned object and link it to another object obtained from datacontext thru non compiled queries. If I've got 2 tables that are joined in a 3rd table with a many-to-many relationship, is it possible to write an ICriteria with expressions in one of the tables and the join table? Lets say the mapping file looks something like: <bag name ="Bag" table="JoinTable" cascade ="none"> <key column="Data_ID"/> <many-to-many class="Data2" column="Data2_ID"/> </bag> Is it then possible to write an ICriteria like the following? ICriteria crit = session.CreateCriteria(typeof(Data)); crit.Add(Expression.Eq("Name", name)); crit.Add(Expression.Between("Date", startDate, endDate)); crit.Add(Expression.Eq("Bag", data2IDNumber)); When I try this, it tells me I the expected type is IList, whereas the actual type is Bag. • How does the linux kernel manage less than 1GB physical memory ?

  I'm learning the linux kernel internals and while reading "Understanding Linux Kernel", quite a few memory related questions struck me. One of them is, how the Linux kernel handles the memory mapping if the physical memory of say only 512 MB is installed on my system. As I read, kernel maps 0(or 16) MB-896MB physical RAM into 0xC0000000 linear address and can directly address it. So, in the above described case where I only have 512 MB: How can the kernel map 896 MB from only 512 MB ? What about user mode processes in this situation? Where are user mode processes in phys RAM? Every article explains only the situation, when you've installed 4 GB of memory and the kernel maps the 1 GB into kernel space and user processes uses the remaining amount of RAM. I would appreciate any help in improving my understanding. Thanks..!

• NHibernate handling mutliple resultsets from a sp call

  I'm using a stored procedure to handle search on my site, it includes full text searching, relevance and paging. I also wanted it to return the total number of results that would have been returned, had paging not being there. So I've now got my SP returning 2 select statements, the search and just SELECT @totalResults. Is there any way I can get NHibernate to handle this? I'm currently accessing the ISession's connection, creating a command and executing the SP myself, and mapping the results. This isn't ideal, so I'm hoping I can get NH to handle this for me. Or if anyone has any other better ways of creating complicated searches etc with NH, I'd really like to hear it.

• Calling one DAO from another DAO?

  Can this ever make sense? Say I need to fetch an object from the DB which has a relation to another object (represented by a foreign key in the DB, and by a composition in my domain object). If in my first DAO I fetch the data for object 1, then call the dao for object 2, and finally (from within the first DAO, call the setter in object 1 and give it the previously fetched object 2). I know I could do a join instead, but it just seems more logical to me to decouple the functionality (which is why I am skeptical about calling one dao from another). Or should I move some of the logic to the service layer? Thanks Update: I think I solved the problem with help from the answers: all I needed to do was add the following to my mapping of Object 1: <one-to-one name="Object2" fetch="join" class="com...Object2"></one-to-one> I didn't have to change anything else.   Hi, I got a problem migrating from VS.Net 2008 / MVC 1 to VS.NET 2010 (+C# 4.0) / MVC 2 The web.config has been updated, the site runs well in Cassini, but my problem now is deploying on IIS 6. I updated the web site to run using ASP.Net 4, but whatever URL I try, I always have a 404 error. It's as if the routing was not taken into account (yes, the wildcard mapping has been done). I do not understand this mess and could not google anything interesting... Thanks for your suggestions ! O.

  Hi, I am used to hbm files and started using fluent nhibernate recently. Creating an m-to-m relationship between two entities A and B is quite simple In A I create: public virtual IList Bs { get; set; } and then I use: mapping.HasManyToMany(x = x.Bs); That’s it and I can do: A a = new A(); a.Bs.Add(b); My problem is that I would like to have an additional column in my dedicated m-to-m database table which holds the two foreign keys. What is the simplest way to achieve this in FNH? Would I have to create a dedicated entity for the m-to-m realtionship or is there a simpler solution? Thanks. Best wishes, Christian

Is RegEx the right tool or what is the most efficent way to accomplish this in Java?

  Hi there. I have an application that includes 2 classes Club and Article. These are mapped in Hibernate as a many to many relationship. As a result, hibernate has created a table called CLUB_ARTICLE which it uses to manage the many to many relation ship. The CLUB and ARTILCE tables have no direct reference to each other and the mapping is only represented in the CLUB_ARTICLE table. I need to create an HQL query that returns a list of articles for a particlular club. So I need to supply the club id and get back a list of Article objects that belong to it. For some reason, I just can't work out how to do this. Any help would be very much appriciated! Thanks.

  I'm trying to create a custom mapping with AutoMapper, but I can't use 3.0 syntax with lambdas. How would one convert this 3.0 code into 2.0 ? Mapper.CreateMap<MyClass, MyDto>() .ForMember(dest => dest.Name, opt => opt.MapFrom(src => src.CompanyName)) Edit: Since there was no better solution, we are now using vs2008 on one workstation to make these mappings and build a dll. I hope it won't be long until we upgrade to vs2010.

• Nhibernate Criteria Ignore Child Collection

  I have a simple one to many association in my model. The parent class has a collection of children. In the mapping files, the association is a one to many, eager-loaded, using fetchmode.join. This works fine, but how can I write a criteria query but NOT trigger the loading of the child collection? In other words, I want to query the parent and not have it generate the join in the resulting sql. I tried setting the fetch mode to lazy, but in that case Nhibernate generates two separate queries. I don't want the table for child queried at all.

• EF 4 - associations with keys that dont match

  We're using POCOs and have 2 entities: Item and ItemContact. There are 1 or more contacts per item. Item has as a primary key: ItemID LanguageCode ItemContact has: ItemID ContactID We cant add an association with a referrential constraint as they have differing keys. There isnt a strict primary / foreign key as languageCode isnt in ItemContact and ContactID isnt in Item. How can we go about mapping this with an association for contacts for an item if there isnt a direct link but I still want to see the contacts for an item? One of the entities originates in a database view so it is not possible to add foreign keys to the database Thanks Stephen Ward
