    I am looking for a wordpress plugin which simplifies the registration process by allowing users to sign up on the spot without having to be sent an email? It would be good if you could also pass a redirect_to parameter in the url like you can for the login. Note:Some thoughtless person migrated this question over to super user where it was closed.     I'm looking for a site / report / something that can compares "identical" programs (programs that do the same thing) in different web-programming languages and then compares the speeds of each of them. I agree that there will be MANY MANY criteria on which this information can be sliced and diced by, but has anyone done any real comparison of this? I am interested in web-based languages only, ie php, perl, C, C++, java, asp, asp.net, etc.

    Web applications traditionally follow the request/response cycle, where a request is made by a user or another web app. However, I'm curious if it is possible to make a web app automatically initiate certain tasks upon it's deployment to a app server. For example, let's say we have a web app that retrieves and processes data. Is it possible to configure this app to automatically retrieve and process data when certain criteria are met, rather than needing a request from a user/another web app?

  • Not able to Defrag my drive for shrink even using PerfectDisk on Windows 7

    I want to partition my c drive which has over 450gb capacity of which hardly 30gb is being used. I deleted the pagefile.sys and also disabled hibernate and cache memory. I then defragmented and consolidated free space using PerfectDisk 12 and also run a boot time defragmented. Now what remains is Metadata files that preventing me from shrinking the volume beyond half the size if disk. Please tell me what to do?????

    I installed NetBeans 6.8 and tried to run the GlasshFish V3 server. I'm working under Windows Vista 32 Bits. First, it won't run. The application server is multithreaded and it can accept lot of concurrent TCP connections and can process many requests per conenction. Every request will be handled by seperate detached thread.     What serial communication bus would you use in a automotive embedded system if your main selection criteria were: * Electrically robust * Slow speed (32 kb/s) * Easy to program * Easy to interface with microcontrollers It won't be transferring much data, but it will need to be transferred periodically at high speed (100 - 500 Hz). I find that RS-232 is just not reliable enough if you have noise in your ground line. CAN-bus seems interesting, but I have no experience with it. We are currently interested in a combination of AVR AT90CAN128 microcontrollers.

  • Why is Windows 7 slow resume from suspend?

    I have Windows 7 on an HP Mini 5101. It is can be very slow to resume from suspend (not hibernate) state. The time from power on to the login prompt varies from say 10 sec to over a minute. This machine mainly gets used for sofa surfing so usually only Firefox and gtalk are running. Any suggestions on how to achieve Mac-like start-up or suggestions on how to track down the problem appreciated.

    I am trying to switch a table from being a many-to-one mapping to being many-to-many with an intermediate mapping table. However, when I switched it over and tried to do a query on it with NHibernate, it's giving me this error: "Interceptor.OnPrepareStatement(SqlString) returned null or empty SqlString."     Hi I want to delete a line using sed if it matches 2 regular expressions in the same line. EG the line starts with /* and end with */ (comment). The following script will do most of that. sed -e '/^\/*/ d' -e '/*\/$/ d' filename This script will remove all lines that start with * and end with */. I want it to remove the line only if is meets both criteria not one.

  • How to permanently save power options in windows 7

    How can I set the hard disk to never turn off permanently?And the sleep to never, together with the hibernate. Because the options resets to their default values when I turn off, log off or restart my computer. I am using granola on my laptop and it is set to lowest speed. When I restart it turns to full power again. Does it have something to do with the power options resetting to their default values?
