  • Connecting to Outlook Web (OWA) via a desktop client

    - by mgroves
I'm having all kinds of timeout problem with the web-based client for Outlook Online (microsoftonline.com), and I'd like to use something like Live Mail to connect instead. So, can I use Live Mail to do that? If so, how do I configure it? If I can't use Live Mail, are there any desktop clients that can connect (I'd like to retain access to the calendar, etc)?

  • Vanilla TeX Live 2009 on Ubuntu

    - by reprogrammer
I installed TeX Live 2009 by following the instructions at http://www.tug.org/texlive/quickinstall. Then, to make my local TeX Live installation work with the Ubuntu package management system, I followed the instructions on http://www.tug.org/texlive/debian.html. That is, I performed the following steps. $ sudo aptitude install equivs $ mkdir /tmp/tl-equivs && cd /tmp/tl-equivs $ equivs-control texlive-local # I replaced the contents of texlive-local by http://www.tug.org/texlive/debian-control-ex.txt $ equivs-build texlive-local $ sudo dpkg -i texlive-local_2009-1~1_all.deb However, when I go about installing kile through the Ubuntu package management system, it requires me to install a lot of dependencies that are already provided by my texlive-local package. Does any one have a suggestion to fix this problem?

  • best storage option for recording live streaming video

    - by Alchemical
We're creating a new web site that includes video chat capabilities. Wowza Server is being used for the streaming media. We would like the capability for users to record their video chats in certain circumstances. Is it feasible to record the videos to the same server running Wowza? Or performance-wise, would it make more sense to store them on another server? I understand SANs are popular as well, but I'm a little concerned about cost for those as we are on a fairly tight budget. Currently we have two servers with pretty decent RAID cnofigurations for storage, one has 14TB and the other 6TB. Mostly concerned if doing the recording on the same server as the streaming server (or web server), could significantly adversely affect that server's primary function.

  • How can I capture webcam view with Microsoft Movie Maker

    - by Edward Tanguay
I used to use Microsoft Movie Maker to record video from my webcam. Now I have Win7 and just downloaded the latest version of movie maker (14.0.8091.0730), the one that has the Office-10-like Ribbon on the top. But in this version I find no way to capture video as in the older versions. How can I capture video from my webcam with this newest version of Movie Maker?

  • Getting live traffic/visitor analytics when using a reverse proxy

    - by jotto
I'm in process of implementing Varnish as a reverse proxy for a Ruby on Rails app and I'm using Google Analytics (JS/client side script to record visitor data) but it's several hours delayed so its useless for knowing what's going on now. I need at a glance live data that includes referring traffic and what current req/sec is. Right now I am using a simple Rack middleware application to do the live stats (gist.github.com/235745) but if the majority of traffic hits Varnish, Rack will never be hit so this won't work. The closest solution I've found so far is http://www.reinvigorate.net/ but it's in beta (there are also no implementation details on their front page). Does Varnish have traffic logs that I can custom format to match my Apache logs so I can combine them, or will I have to roll my own JS implementation like GA that shows the data in real time?

  • MSSQL Replace Database in Live Web App

    - by casoninabox
I have a web app that is currently live. I had the need to make major modifications to the database and now I need to replace the current one. My dev SQL instance is not the live one. I usually just make a backup of the new DB, blow the old one away and Restore my updated one. But now I have data I need to preserve. Most of the current tables have changed, in that extra columns have been added, all existing columns are still there and unchanged. I have access to Management Studio. What is the right way to do this?

  • 8007064c(2011) and 80280007(2009) persistant after all known repairs

    - by tiu44
I'm on Windows 7 Home x64, and have ran into a major issue with Live Messenger(which I use daily). I have full offline installers for both 2011 and the last Wave 3 2009(14.0.8117.0416) Suites. Both give the following errors: Live Essentials 2011 Offline installer(official): An unknown error occured. Error:0x8007064c Source WLXSuite WL 2009 offline installer(official): You already have a more recent version of Windows Live. Error: OnCatalogResult:0x80280007 Next steps: If you want to install this older version, first uninstall any later versions that are on your computer. Get help with this error The 2011 installer also says it is updating messenger, I don't select anything else. Then last 2009 installer says their is a newer version that needs uninstalled even after the following procedures. MS Help pages provided all basically lead to using uninstall from control panel. Which I've uninstalled all Live components including watcom safety scanner and portable SQL from. I've followed online instructions for manually deleting folders from Program Files(x86), Appdata, and some others under \User\All Users and the one for the one account on the machine. I've used CCcleaner 3.01, ASC 3.7.3 and Beta 4 with deep scan along with deleting folders, and checked their uninstallers for Live components too, and none were there. wlmuninstaller.exe tool reports nothing, but after a failed install it finds something, but failes to clean it under all user admin privilege. The same errors still occur after all of that. Google searching I see people on forums suggesting reinstalling the OS cause MS doesn't even know how to fix this, but I'm hoping someone here can help. NOTE: I don't have System Restore or any other state freeze utilities going, and I don't have any real time AV going(I sometime scan with defender, anti rootkits, and online scanners). NOTE2:I posted this on windowslivehelp.com, before looking to see if the place was active or not, hoping I can get help here. Thanks

  • Windows Live Mail doesn't respond to clicking Allow Sender

    - by Karel
This is a problem that I experience for a couple of years now.. I'm having the latest version of Windows Live Mail. The overall behavior works just fine, but when I want to click 'Allow Sender' in the yellow bar above my e-mail, the text button does nothing. My mouse pointer turns into a finger hand, but the click event does nothing.. Sometimes with other e-mails, the button works and the yellow bar dissappears.. I have also experienced this in previous versions of Windows Live Mail.. Does anybody know what it could be..

Need to convert .tod (mpeg-2) to avi mpg wmv download from JVC Everio to PC with tod to avi mpg wmv converter convert tod to uncompressed/raw avi, mpg wmv Have a JVC Everio camcorder? Then you may encounter problems when saving the .tod files to your computer windows movie maker says it can't recognize and edit them to make videos. You may play them using media player but the problem is how to edit them? The bundled software Power cinema could be annoying, since you can only edit when the camera is plugged in to the PC - Power cinema can’t seem to edit from the saved clips alone. So, how do you save them to PC so that you can edit them without the camera and also using windows movie maker? JVC Everio Tod to avi mpg wmv converter costs you a penny to but help you perfectly convert tod file to AVI, MPG, WMV, YouTube FLV, MP4, DV, QuickTime.MOV or other common video formats with fast speed and while keeping the original HD quality. High definition TOD recordings from JVC Camcorders can playback fluidly, convert smoothly and edit professionally on with iOrgsoft TOD file converter iOrgsoft tod to avi mpg wmv Converter has been mostly used by Windows users who use Windows 7 or Vista, after the .tod (mpeg-2 the same codec) downloaded from JVC Everio to PC, it’s best to convert tod to avi, convert to xvid divx, convert tod to uncompressed avi or convert tod to raw avi, tod to mpg, tod to wmv, which are three Windows movie maker best formats to import. • Live Folder: browser intent error

    - by MrSnowflake
I'm trying to make a Live Folder with URIs. The intent I set to the Live Folder items is an Intent{Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse(url)}. I have verified url is indeed http://www.google.com (for testing purposes). But when I click the item in the live folder I get an error message: "Application is not installed on your phone." I guess I'm missing something, but I have no idea how to make the browser launch.

  • Clever recording using AVFoundation

    - by martin
Hello I am working on my master thesis and I am programming app for iOS using AVFoundation framework. I can make by myself session and attach devices to it and record video with sound. The main problem is that I need continous recording (3hours or longer). After three hours user will stop recording and user will choose time eg. 15 mins (max 30 mins) and only this last 15 mins will be stored to iphone memory. Is it possible to 'cut' video while recording or should I record it eg. in 10 minutes block and then delete old video segments and last two segments connect to one bigger? Will perform these connections (stop recording, start new recording and then connect these two segments) lags in final long video segment? Is there any way to perform this 'clever' recording? Thank you for any ideas.

  • ffmpeg video4linux2 at specified resolution

    - by wim
    When I'm trying to record a clip from my webcam, using: ffmpeg -f video4linux2 -s 640x480 -i /dev/video0 /tmp/spam.avi I get annoying problem with very low resolution video, and there is a message from ffmpeg saying: [video4linux2,v4l2 @ 0x2bff3e0] The V4L2 driver changed the video from 800x600 to 176x144 I have tried not specifying -s, or trying other sizes like 800x600, and always it forces me back to 176x144. Why is this and how can I prevent it? My webcam is one of those Logitech 9000 Pro, I know it supports better resolutions than this and I can see with v4l2-ctl --list-formats-ext that it goes up to at least 800x600. edit: complete console output follows wim@wim-desktop:~$ ffmpeg -f video4linux2 -s 640x480 -i /dev/video0 /tmp/spam.avi ffmpeg version git-2012-11-20-70c0f13 Copyright (c) 2000-2012 the FFmpeg developers built on Nov 21 2012 00:09:36 with gcc 4.6 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-libfaac --enable-libfdk-aac --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-librtmp --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx --enable-x11grab --enable-libx264 --enable-nonfree --enable-version3 libavutil 52. 8.100 / 52. 8.100 libavcodec 54. 73.100 / 54. 73.100 libavformat 54. 37.100 / 54. 37.100 libavdevice 54. 3.100 / 54. 3.100 libavfilter 3. 23.101 / 3. 23.101 libswscale 2. 1.102 / 2. 1.102 libswresample 0. 17.100 / 0. 17.100 libpostproc 52. 2.100 / 52. 2.100 [video4linux2,v4l2 @ 0x37a33e0] The V4L2 driver changed the video from 640x480 to 176x144 [video4linux2,v4l2 @ 0x37a33e0] Estimating duration from bitrate, this may be inaccurate Input #0, video4linux2,v4l2, from '/dev/video0': Duration: N/A, start: 37066.740548, bitrate: 6082 kb/s Stream #0:0: Video: rawvideo (YUY2 / 0x32595559), yuyv422, 176x144, 6082 kb/s, 15 tbr, 1000k tbn, 15 tbc File '/tmp/spam.avi' already exists. • Remove Live ID authentication from user account

    - by slugster
I've just run in to a really annoying issue with Windows 8.1 - it seems I cannot remove the need to use Live ID credentials from an account without completely deleting that account. I know the process to do it - use the Disconnect link from the Accounts-Your account screen. The trouble comes when you get to the Switch to a local account screen, it will not let you enter the current account for the user name, instead you must enter a new one thus creating a new user account. Can I revert back to using just a local login without having to recreate the account? It seems quite retarded that I have to recreate the account, as deep down the only change required is which credential provider is used to authenticate the login. (Note that this Live ID linkage was created by using the Windows Store, not as a result of an upgrade from 8 to 8.1).

  • Bind multiple events to jQuery 'live' method

    - by Will Peavy
    jQuery's 'live' method is unable to handle multiple events. Does anyone know of a good workaround to attach multiple events to a function that polls current and future elements? Or am I stuck using duplicate live methods for each event handler I need? Example - I am trying to do something like: $('.myclass').live('change keypress blur', function(){ // do stuff });

  • LIVE Video Streaming with Nginx + PHP-FPM / Process Timeout

    - by user3393046
I have a live video streaming in my server using nginx + php. the php file reas a live streaming and it directly sends it to the client. I have only one problem. The problem is that i want each request to be in a new process of php-fpm. In a few words i don't want to have idle timeout for a process but instead i want them to close instant when a request is being closed. With idle timeout i have huge problems which are hard to explain at the moment but i'm really sure that if i disable the idle timeout everything will be perfect. Is there any way to do this? I'm using on demand php-fpm

  • Cut (smart edit) .mts (AVCHD Progressive) files un Ubuntu Lucid

    - by pts
I have a bunch of .mts files containing AVCHD Progressive video recorded by a Panasonic camera, and I need software on Ubuntu Lucid with which I can remove the boring parts, and concatenate the interesting parts, all this without reencoding the video stream. It's OK for me to cut at keyframe boundary. If Avidemux was able to open the files, it would take about 60 hours of work for me to cut the files. (At least that was it last time I tried with similar videos, but of a file format supported by Avidemux.) So I need a fast, powerful and stable video editor, because I don't want that 60 hours of work go up to 240 or even 480 hours just because the tool is too slow or unstable or has a terrible UI. I've tried Avidemux 2.5.5 and 2.5.6, but they crash trying to open such a file, even if I convert the file to .avi first using mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy. mplayer can play the files. I've tried Avidemux 2.6.0, which can open the file, but it cannot jump to the previous or next keyframe etc. (if I make it jump to the next keyframe, and then to the previous keyframe, it doesn't end up at the original keyframe, sometimes displays an error etc.). Also I'm not sure if Avidemux 2.6.x would let me save the result without reencoding. I've tried Kdenlive 0.7.7.1, but playback is very choppy, and it cannot play audio at all (complaining that SDL cannot find the device; but many other programs on the system can play audio). It would be a pain to work with. I've tried converting the .mts file to .mkv using ffmpeg -i input.mts -vcodec copy -sameq -acodec copy -f matroska output.mkv, but that caused too much visible distortions in the video in both mplayer and Avidemux. I've tried converting the .mts file with TsRemux.exe, but Avidemux 2.5.x still can't open that file. Is there another program to cut and concatenate the files? Is there a preprocessor which would create a file (without reencoding the video) on which Avidemux wouldn't crash?

  • Why is my Output distorted after encoding with Expression Encoder?

    - by WernerCD
I'm a "n00b" when it comes to re-encoding files. I'm trying to re-encode an AVI into a silverlight container via Encoding Video using Expression Encoder 4.0. As you can see in the video, the left is the input and it looks/sounds fine. The right is the output and it... doesn't. I'm unsure of where to go from here. I'm not sure why the output is jacked up, since the input looks fine. Input Video properties: AVI 2.49GB 22:34 809x605 Video: TSCC 809x605 15fps [Stream 00] Audio: PCM 22050Hz mono 352kbps [Stream 01] Choice of output doesn't seem to matter, they all end up distorted like the picture shows.

  • suppress warnings from windows live mail untrusted cerficate ssl

    - by monkeyking
Hi we have setup our own mailserver using ssl. Each time I start up windows live mail, in comes up with an annoying message that "The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified" Is there some way to add this cerficate such that we wont see this message on every program start. When using firefox (our mailserver can also be webbased) or thunderbird, I get the option to allow the certificate without asking again. I'm perfectly aware that we can buy a certificate that will make the message go away, but this we dont want to do. Thanks edit: I have succesfully imported the certificate such that I can access the website without complains using ie, however the problem still persists in windows live mail.
