  • error by creating process

    - by Tyzak
hello i want to get startet with programming with WIN32, therefore i wrote a programm that creates a process but in the line of code where i create the process the programm gets an error an dosn't work (abend). i don't know if the code in programm 1 is wrong or the code in the second programm that should be created by the first. ( I don't know if the code in the first programm after "createprocess" is right because i didn't get further with debugging, because in this line i get the error.(i tested it without the cout, waitforobject and close handle but i didn't work either )). First Programm: #include <iostream> #include <windows.h> #include <string> using namespace std; void main() { bool ret; bool retwait; STARTUPINFO startupinfo; GetStartupInfo (&startupinfo); PROCESS_INFORMATION pro2info; ret = CreateProcess(NULL, L"D:\\betriebssystemePRA1PRO2.exe", NULL, NULL, false, CREATE_NEW_CONSOLE, NULL, NULL, &startupinfo, &pro2info); cout<<"hProcess: "<<pro2info.hProcess<<endl; cout<<"dwProcessId: "<<pro2info.dwProcessId <<endl; retwait= WaitForSingleObject (pro2info.hProcess, 100); retwait= WaitForSingleObject (pro2info.hProcess, 100); CloseHandle (pro2info.hProcess);//prozesshandle schließen retwait= WaitForSingleObject (pro2info.hProcess, 100); ExitProcess(0); } Seconde Programm: #include <iostream> #include <windows.h> #include <string> using namespace std; void main() { int b; b=GetCurrentProcessId(); cout<<b<<endl; cout<<"Druecken Sie Enter zum Beenden"<<endl; cin.get(); //warten bis Benutzer bestätigt Sleep (700); ExitProcess(0); cout<<"test"; } Thanks in advance

  • GetExitCodeProcess process termination status codes?

    - by Narcís Calvet
Does anybody know where can I find a list of GetExitCodeProcess' process termination status codes? I've done some search in the internet and haven't been able to find one. I'm receiving a 33102 code from a GetExitCodeProcess call and I don't understand why. I hope getting a description for this error code will help me sorting this out.

  • Simulink sim of rician channel ber process

    - by bob
Hi, I'm learning simulink and I want to use the rician channle block from the communications blockset. I'm told I need to change the format format. Would anyone have some sample code where they used the rician channels in simulink to model a bit error rate process?

  • In few words, what can be said about Mocking process in TDD

    - by Richard77
Hello, I'd like to brush my brain to avoid confusions. In few words, what can be said about Mocking process in TDD What's the GREAT idea behind MOCKING? Mocking frameworks are meant to be used only to avoid accessing DB during tests or they can be used for something else? For new comers (like me), are all the frameworks equal or I need to choose one for this or that reason? Thanks for helping

  • process killed -- delete output file?

    - by user151841
I have a bash script that runs on our shared web host. It does a dump of our mysql database and zips up the output file. Sometimes the mysqldump process gets killed, which leaves an incomplete sql file that still gets zipped. How do I get my script to 'notice' the killing and then delete the output file if the killing occurred?

  • Time required for a process to complete

    - by yelkawar
    I am new to C# world. I am attempting to calculate time taken by a algorithum for the purpose of comparison. Following code measures the elapsed time from when a subroutine is called until the subroutine returns to the main program.This example is taken from "Data structures through C#" by Michael McMillan. After running this program the output is Time=0, which is incorrect. The program appears to be logically correct. Can anybody help me. Following is the code using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Collections; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace Chap1 { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { int num1 = 100; int num2 = 200; Console.WriteLine("num1: " + num1); Console.WriteLine("num2: " + num2); Swap<int>(ref num1, ref num2); Console.WriteLine("num1: " + num1); Console.WriteLine("num2: " + num2); string str1 = "Sam"; string str2 = "Tom"; Console.WriteLine("String 1: " + str1); Console.WriteLine("String 2: " + str2); Swap<string>(ref str1, ref str2); Console.WriteLine("String 1: " + str1); Console.WriteLine("String 2: " + str2); Console.ReadKey(); } static void Swap<T>(ref T val1, ref T val2) { T temp; temp = val1; val1 = val2; val2 = temp; } } class Timing { TimeSpan StartTiming; TimeSpan duration; public Timing() { StartTiming = new TimeSpan(0); duration = new TimeSpan(0); } public TimeSpan startTime() { GC.Collect(); GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers(); StartTiming = Process.GetCurrentProcess().Threads[0].UserProcessorTime; return StartTiming; } public void stopTime() { duration = Process.GetCurrentProcess().Threads[0].UserProcessorTime.Subtract(StartTiming); } public TimeSpan result() { return duration; } } }

  • PL/SQL function while executing throws Out Process Memory Error

    - by Vinoj Nambiar
I have PL/SQL function, which is programmed to sort a set of data. This function work fine without any error, when called directly as a PL/SQL Function. However, when I call this Function Via a Unix Shell Script, even though the script returns a success code and throws an Out Process Memory Error and function is actually not executed. I have verified the DB Index spaces and temp spaces, which are more than 50% free spaces

  • How to kill process on Remote Desktop Connection?

    - by user118190
I am working remotely on a Windows Server via Remote Desktop Connection and some process has hung the server. I looked up how to bring up the Task Manager remote (equivalent of locally doing CTRL+ALT+DEL) and I found CTRL+ALT+END and it doesn't seem to work. I tried logging off and logging back on and the system is still up (tried earlier seeing the properties of My Comptuer, FYI). Does anyone know how I can escape this 'hindrance' and star fresh?!?

  • Mocking a concrete class : templates and avoiding conditional compilation

    - by AshirusNW
I'm trying to testing a concrete object with this sort of structure. class Database { public: Database(Server server) : server_(server) {} int Query(const char* expression) { server_.Connect(); return server_.ExecuteQuery(); } private: Server server_; }; i.e. it has no virtual functions, let alone a well-defined interface. I want to a fake database which calls mock services for testing. Even worse, I want the same code to be either built against the real version or the fake so that the same testing code can both: Test the real Database implementation - for integration tests Test the fake implementation, which calls mock services To solve this, I'm using a templated fake, like this: #ifndef INTEGRATION_TESTS class FakeDatabase { public: FakeDatabase() : realDb_(mockServer_) {} int Query(const char* expression) { MOCK_EXPECT_CALL(mockServer_, Query, 3); return realDb_.Query(); } private: // in non-INTEGRATION_TESTS builds, Server is a mock Server with // extra testing methods that allows mocking Server mockServer_; Database realDb_; }; #endif template <class T> class TestDatabaseContainer { public: int Query(const char* expression) { int result = database_.Query(expression); std::cout << "LOG: " << result << endl; return result; } private: T database_; }; Edit: Note the fake Database must call the real Database (but with a mock Server). Now to switch between them I'm planning the following test framework: class DatabaseTests { public: #ifdef INTEGRATION_TESTS typedef TestDatabaseContainer<Database> TestDatabase ; #else typedef TestDatabaseContainer<FakeDatabase> TestDatabase ; #endif TestDatabase& GetDb() { return _testDatabase; } private: TestDatabase _testDatabase; }; class QueryTestCase : public DatabaseTests { public: void TestStep1() { ASSERT(GetDb().Query(static_cast<const char *>("")) == 3); return; } }; I'm not a big fan of that compile-time switching between the real and the fake. So, my question is: Whether there's a better way of switching between Database and FakeDatabase? For instance, is it possible to do it at runtime in a clean fashion? I like to avoid #ifdefs. Also, if anyone has a better way of making a fake class that mimics a concrete class, I'd appreciate it. I don't want to have templated code all over the actual test code (QueryTestCase class). Feel free to critique the code style itself, too. You can see a compiled version of this code on codepad.

  • Per-process CPU usage on Win95 / Win98 / WinME

    - by Hugh Allen
How can you programmatically measure per-process (or better, per-thread) CPU usage under windows 95, windows 98 and windows ME? If it requires the DDK, where can you obtain that? Please note the Win9x requirement. It's easy on NT. EDIT: I tried installing the Win95/98 version of WMI, but Win32_Process.KernelModeTime and Win32_Process.UserModeTime return Null (as do most Win32_Process properties under win9x).

  • Get specific process memory space

    - by Saul Rennison
Hi, I have a pointer (void *) to a function and I want to know which process this function belongs to. I have no idea which way to go about it, but I think it's possible by using some form of VirtualQuery trickery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

  • monitoring unix resources from inside a process

    - by kamziro
I've had a bunch of EAGAIN's from trying to fork() or spawning threads, which lead me to believe that I'm leaking resources somewhere. Is it possible, in POSIX, to get the following from inside the process itself: number of active pthreads number of active child processes number of active pipes number of active sockets (or maybe this and pipes would be counted as file descriptors?) Or do these have to be counted manually? There's already counters for them, but I think one of them are leaking.
