  • is there a less bloated way to test constraints in grails?

    - by egervari
    Is there a less bloated way to test constraints? It seems to me that this is too much code to test constraints. class BlogPostTests extends GrailsUnitTestCase { protected void setUp() { super.setUp() mockDomain BlogPost } void testConstraints() { BlogPost blogPost = new BlogPost(title: "", text: "") assertFalse blogPost.validate() assertEquals 2, blogPost.errors.getErrorCount() assertEquals "blank", blogPost.errors.getFieldError("title").getCode() assertEquals "blank", blogPost.errors.getFieldError("text").getCode() blogPost = new BlogPost(title: "title", text: ObjectMother.bigText(2001)) assertFalse blogPost.validate() assertEquals 1, blogPost.errors.getErrorCount() assertEquals "maxSize.exceeded", blogPost.errors.getFieldError("text").getCode() } }

  • ruby on rails configuration

    - by Themasterhimself
    Im using the following guide for getting started with rails for ubuntu 9.10. http://guides.rails.info/getting_started.html I have installed both ruby and gem. gokul@gokul-laptop:~$ ruby -v ruby 1.8.7 (2009-06-12 patchlevel 174) [i486-linux] gokul@gokul-laptop:~$ gem -v 1.3.6 gokul@gokul-laptop:~$ For rails, gokul@gokul-laptop:~$sudo gem install rails doesnt seem to give any response. so used the synaptic package manager for installing it. And it seems to have installed correctly. gokul@gokul-laptop:~$ rails Usage: /usr/bin/rails /path/to/your/app [options] Options: -r, --ruby=path Path to the Ruby binary of your choice (otherwise scripts use env, dispatchers current path). Default: /usr/bin/ruby1.8 -d, --database=name Preconfigure for selected database (options: mysql/oracle/postgresql/sqlite2/sqlite3/frontbase/ibm_db). Default: sqlite3 -D, --with-dispatchers Add CGI/FastCGI/mod_ruby dispatches code to generated application skeleton Default: false --freeze Freeze Rails in vendor/rails from the gems generating the skeleton Default: false -m, --template=path Use an application template that lives at path (can be a filesystem path or URL). Default: (none) Rails Info: -v, --version Show the Rails version number and quit. -h, --help Show this help message and quit. General Options: -p, --pretend Run but do not make any changes. -f, --force Overwrite files that already exist. -s, --skip Skip files that already exist. -q, --quiet Suppress normal output. -t, --backtrace Debugging: show backtrace on errors. -c, --svn Modify files with subversion. (Note: svn must be in path) -g, --git Modify files with git. (Note: git must be in path) Description: The 'rails' command creates a new Rails application with a default directory structure and configuration at the path you specify. • Why does Perl's readdir() cache directory entries?

    - by Frank Straetz
    For some reason Perl keeps caching the directory entries I'm trying to read using readdir: opendir(SNIPPETS, $dir_snippets); # or die... while ( my $snippet = readdir(SNIPPETS) ) { print ">>>".$snippet."\n"; } closedir(SNIPPETS); Since my directory contains two files, test.pl and test.man, I'm expecting the following output: . .. test.pl test.man Unfortunately Perl returns a lot of files that have since vanished, for example because I tried to rename them. After I move test.pl to test.yeah Perl will return the following list: . .. test.pl test.yeah test.man What's the reason for this strange behaviour? The documentation for opendir, readdir and closedir doesn't mention some sort of caching mechanism. "ls -l" clearly lists only two files.

  • boost::program_options bug or feature?

    - by Dmitriy
    Very simple example: #include <string> #include <boost/program_options.hpp> namespace po = boost::program_options; int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { po::options_description recipients("Recipient(s)"); recipients.add_options() ("csv", po::value<std::string>(), "" ) ("csv_name", po::value<unsigned>(), "" ) ; po::options_description cmdline_options; cmdline_options.add(recipients); po::variables_map vm; po::store(po::command_line_parser(argc, argv).options(cmdline_options).run(), vm); po::notify(vm); return 0; } And some tests: >Test --csv test in option 'csv_name': invalid option value >Test --csv_name test in option 'csv_name': invalid option value >Test --csv_name 0 >Test --csv text in option 'csv_name': invalid option value >Test --csv 0 >Test --csv_name 0 >Test --csv_name 0 --csv text multiple occurrences Looks like that boost::program_option threats parameter "csv" as "csv_name". Is it a feature or bug?

  • MbUnit (gallio) and Visual Studio.Net Tests Not Completing or Debugging

    - by Davy
    Hi I'm using Gallio\MbUnit 3.1 with ReSharper and Visual Studio 2008. Everything is working well except this type of test: [Test] [Row("test@badEmail@_test.com")] [Row("test@badEmail@_test.")] public void IsValidEmail_Invalid_Emails_Should_Return_False(string invalidEmail) { Assert.IsFalse(AppHelper.IsValidEmail(invalidEmail), "Email validation failed for " + invalidEmail); } The test doesn't complete or go in to debug mode only when I pass in a parameter E.g. 'string invalidEmail'. If I remove that prameter it seems to work normally. It will run the test if I have: [Test] public void IsValidEmail_Invalid_Emails_Should_Return_False() { var invalidName = test@badEmail@_test.com"; Assert.IsFalse(AppHelper.IsValidEmail(invalidEmail), "Email validation failed for " + invalidEmail); } I appreciate that there may be better ways to achieve this test but I'm trying to work my way through a book and this is how it's explaining things. Any help is appreciated. Davy

  • How do I call overloaded Java methods in Clojure.

    - by Pat Wallace
    For this example Java class: package foo; public class TestInterop { public String test(int i) { return "Test(int)"; } public String test(Object i) { return "Test(Object)"; } } When I start Clojure and try to call the test(int) method, the test(Object) method is called instead, because Clojure automatically boxes the integer into a java.lang.Integer object. How do I force Clojure to call the test(int) method? user=> (.test (new foo.TestInterop) 10) "Test(Object)" I want to call methods like Component.add(Component comp, int index) in AWT, but instead keep calling add(Component comp, Object constraints), so the buttons on my toolbar always appear in the wrong order.

  • Compile error with initializer_list when trying to use it to initialize member value of class

    - by ilektron
    I am trying to make a class initializable from an initialization_list in a class constructor's constructor's initialization list. It works for a std::map, but not for my custom class. I don't see any difference other than templates are used in std::map. #include <iostream> #include <initializer_list> #include <string> #include <sstream> #include <map> using std::string; class text_thing { private: string m_text; public: text_thing() { } text_thing(text_thing& other); text_thing(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il); text_thing& operator=(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il); operator string() { return m_text; } }; class static_base { private: std::map<string, string> m_test_map; text_thing m_thing; static_base(); public: static static_base& getInstance() { static static_base instance; return instance; } string getText() { return (string)m_thing; } }; typedef std::pair<const string, const string> spair; text_thing::text_thing(text_thing& other) { m_text = other.m_text; } text_thing::text_thing(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il) { std::stringstream text_gen; for (auto& apair : il) { text_gen << "{" << apair.first << ", " << apair.second << "}" << std::endl; } } text_thing& text_thing::operator=(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il) { std::stringstream text_gen; for (auto& apair : il) { text_gen << "{" << apair.first << ", " << apair.second << "}" << std::endl; } return *this; } static_base::static_base() : m_test_map{{"test", "1"}, {"test2", "2"}}, // Compiler fine with this m_thing{{"test", "1"}, {"test2", "2"}} // Compiler doesn't like this { } int main() { std::cout << "Starting the program" << std::endl; std::cout << "The text thing: " << std::endl << static_base::getInstance().getText(); } I get this compiler output g++ -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -std=c++11 -MMD -MP -MF"static_base.d" -MT"static_base.d" -o "static_base.o" "../static_base.cpp" Finished building: ../static_base.cpp Building file: ../test.cpp Invoking: GCC C++ Compiler g++ -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -std=c++11 -MMD -MP -MF"test.d" -MT"test.d" -o "test.o" "../test.cpp" ../test.cpp: In constructor ‘static_base::static_base()’: ../test.cpp:94:40: error: no matching function for call to ‘text_thing::text_thing(<brace-enclosed initializer list>)’ m_thing{{"test", "1"}, {"test2", "2"}} ^ ../test.cpp:94:40: note: candidates are: ../test.cpp:72:1: note: text_thing::text_thing(std::initializer_list<std::pair<const std::basic_string<char>, const std::basic_string<char> > >&) text_thing::text_thing(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il) ^ ../test.cpp:72:1: note: candidate expects 1 argument, 2 provided ../test.cpp:67:1: note: text_thing::text_thing(text_thing&) text_thing::text_thing(text_thing& other) ^ ../test.cpp:67:1: note: candidate expects 1 argument, 2 provided ../test.cpp:23:2: note: text_thing::text_thing() text_thing() ^ ../test.cpp:23:2: note: candidate expects 0 arguments, 2 provided make: *** [test.o] Error 1 Output of gcc -v Using built-in specs.   • How can I find out if an data- attribute is set to an empty value?

    - by Stephan Wagner
    Is there a way to find out if an data- attribute is set to an empty value or if it is not set at all? See this fiddle example (Check the console when clicking on the elements): http://jsfiddle.net/StephanWagner/yy8qvwfp/ <div onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">undefined</div> <div data-test="" onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">empty</div> <!-- this one will also return an empty value --> <div data-test onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">null</div> <div data-test="value" onclick="console.log($(this).attr('data-test'))">value</div> Im having the issue with the third example. I need to know if the attribute actually is set to an empty value or if it is not set at all. Is that actually possible? EDIT: The reason I'm asking is that I'm updating content with the attributes value, so data-test="" should update the content to an empty value, but data-test should do nothing at all

  • Finding vars from dynamically created namespaces in clojure

    - by Tom Crayford
    The following test fails: (ns clojure_refactoring.rename-fn-test (:use clojure.test)) (deftest test-fn-location (in-ns 'refactoring-test-fn-rename) (clojure.core/refer-clojure) (defn a [b] (inc b)) (in-ns 'clojure_refactoring.rename-fn-test) (is (not= (find-var 'refactoring-test-fn-rename/a) nil)) (remove-ns 'refactoring-test-fn-rename)) That is, find-var (of a var I've just created, in a namespace I've just create) returns nil. This behaviour doesn't happen at the repl, where typing out the steps of the test works just fine. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just something that doesn't work in clojure right now?

  • Unit tests logged (or run) multiple times

    - by HeavyWave
    I have this simple test: protected readonly ILog logger = LogManager.GetLogger(MethodBase.GetCurrentMethod().ReflectedType); private static int count = 0; [Test] public void TestConfiguredSuccessfully() { logger.Debug("in test method" + count++); } log4net is set up like this: [TestFixtureSetUp] public void SetUp() { log4net.Config.BasicConfigurator.Configure(); } The problem is, that if I run this test in nUnit once, I get the output (as expected): 1742 [TestRunnerThread] DEBUG Tests.TestSomthing (null) - in test method0 But if I press RUN in nUnit.exe again (or more) I get the following: 1742 [TestRunnerThread] DEBUG Tests.TestSomthing (null) - in test method1 1742 [TestRunnerThread] DEBUG Tests.TestSomthing (null) - in test method1 And so on (if I run it 5 times, I'll get 5 repeating lines). Now, if I run the same test alone from reSharper the output is fine and does not repeat. However, if I run this test along side 2 other tests in the same class, the output is repeated three times. I am totally confused. What the hell is going on here?

  • python unhashable type - posting xml data

    First, I'm not a python programmer. I'm an old C dog that's learned new Java and PHP tricks, but python looks like a pretty cool language. I'm getting an error that I can't quite follow. • Does Django cache url regex patterns somehow?

    - by Emre Sevinç
    I'm a Django newbie who needs help: Even though I change some urls in my urls.py I keep on getting the same error message from Django. Here is the relevant line from my settings.py: ROOT_URLCONF = 'mydjango.urls' Here is my urls.py: from django.conf.urls.defaults import * # Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin: from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', # Example: # (r'^mydjango/', include('mydjango.foo.urls')), # Uncomment the admin/doc line below and add 'django.contrib.admindocs' # to INSTALLED_APPS to enable admin documentation: #(r'^admin/doc/', include(django.contrib.admindocs.urls)), # (r'^polls/', include('mydjango.polls.urls')), (r'^$', 'mydjango.polls.views.homepage'), (r'^polls/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.index'), (r'^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.detail'), (r'^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/results/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.results'), (r'^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/vote/$', 'mydjango.polls.views.vote'), (r'^polls/randomTest1/', 'mydjango.polls.views.randomTest1'), (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), ) So I expect that whenever I visit http://mydjango.yafz.org/polls/randomTest1/ the mydjango.polls.views.randomTest1 function should run because in my polls/views.py I have the relevant function: def randomTest1(request): # mainText = request.POST['mainText'] return HttpResponse("Default random test") However I keep on getting the following error message: Page not found (404) Request Method: GET Request URL: http://mydjango.yafz.org/polls/randomTest1 Using the URLconf defined in mydjango.urls, Django tried these URL patterns, in this order: 1. ^$ 2. ^polls/$ 3. ^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/$ 4. ^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/results/$ 5. ^polls/(?P<poll_id>\d+)/vote/$ 6. ^admin/ 7. ^polls/randomTest/$ The current URL, polls/randomTest1, didn't match any of these. I'm surprised because again and again I check urls.py and there is no ^polls/randomTest/$ in it, but there is ^polls/randomTest1/' It seems like Django is somehow storing the previous contents of urls.py and I just don't know how to make my latest changes effective. Any ideas? Why do I keep on seeing some old version of regexes when I try to load that page even though I changed my urls.py?

  • Django attribute error: 'module' object has no attribute 'is_usable'

    Hi, I got the following error when calling the url in Django. It's working before, I guess it's related with some accidental changes I made, but I have no idea what they are. • Annoying Twisted Python problem

    - by Kalmi
    I'm trying to answer the following question out of personal interest: What is the fastest way to send 100,000 HTTP requests in Python? And this is what I have came up so far, but I'm experiencing something very stange. When installSignalHandlers is True, it just hangs. I can see that the DelayedCall instances are in reactor._newTimedCalls, but processResponse never gets called. When installSignalHandlers is False, it throws an error and works. from twisted.internet import reactor from twisted.web.client import Agent from threading import Semaphore, Thread import time concurrent = 100 s = Semaphore(concurrent) reactor.suggestThreadPoolSize(concurrent) t=Thread( target=reactor.run, kwargs={'installSignalHandlers':True}) t.daemon=True t.start() agent = Agent(reactor) def processResponse(response,url): print response.code, url s.release() def processError(response,url): print "error", url s.release() def addTask(url): req = agent.request('HEAD', url) req.addCallback(processResponse, url) req.addErrback(processError, url) for url in open('urllist.txt'): addTask(url.strip()) s.acquire() while s._Semaphore__value!=concurrent: time.sleep(0.1) reactor.stop() And here is the error that it throws when installSignalHandlers is True: (Note: This is the expected behaviour! The question is why it doesn't work when installSignalHandlers is False.) • Starter question of declarative style SQLAlchemy relation()

    - by jfding
    I am quite new to SQLAlchemy, or even database programming, maybe my question is too simple. Now I have two class/table: class User(Base): __tablename__ = 'users' id = Column(Integer, primary_key=True) name = Column(String(40)) ... class Computer(Base): __tablename__ = 'comps' id = Column(Integer, primary_key=True) buyer_id = Column(None, ForeignKey('users.id')) user_id = Column(None, ForeignKey('users.id')) buyer = relation(User, backref=backref('buys', order_by=id)) user = relation(User, backref=backref('usings', order_by=id)) Of course, it cannot run. This is the backtrace: File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/state.py", line 71, in initialize_instance fn(self, instance, args, kwargs) File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/mapper.py", line 1829, in _event_on_init instrumenting_mapper.compile() File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/mapper.py", line 687, in compile mapper._post_configure_properties() File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/mapper.py", line 716, in _post_configure_properties prop.init() File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/interfaces.py", line 408, in init self.do_init() File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/properties.py", line 716, in do_init self._determine_joins() File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.5.8-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/orm/properties.py", line 806, in _determine_joins "many-to-many relation, 'secondaryjoin' is needed as well." % (self)) sqlalchemy.exc.ArgumentError: Could not determine join condition between parent/child tables on relation Package.maintainer. Specify a 'primaryjoin' expression. If this is a many-to-many relation, 'secondaryjoin' is needed as well. There's two foreign keys in class Computer, so the relation() callings cannot determine which one should be used. I think I must use extra arguments to specify it, right? And howto? Thanks

  • scipy.io typeerror:buffer too small for requested array

    - by kartiku
    I have a problem in python. I'm using scipy, where i use scipy.io to load a .mat file. The .mat file was created using MATLAB. listOfFiles = os.listdir(loadpathTrain) for f in listOfFiles: fullPath = loadpathTrain + '/' + f mat_contents = sio.loadmat(fullPath) print fullPath Here's the error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "tryRankNet.py", line 1112, in demo() File "tryRankNet.py", line 645, in demo mat_contents = sio.loadmat(fullPath) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/scipy/io/matlab/mio.py", line 111, in loadmat matfile_dict = MR.get_variables() File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/scipy/io/matlab/miobase.py", line 356, in get_variables getter = self.matrix_getter_factory() File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/scipy/io/matlab/mio5.py", line 602, in matrix_getter_factory return self._array_reader.matrix_getter_factory() File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/scipy/io/matlab/mio5.py", line 274, in matrix_getter_factory tag = self.read_dtype(self.dtypes['tag_full']) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/scipy/io/matlab/miobase.py", line 171, in read_dtype order='F') TypeError: buffer is too small for requested array The whole thing is in a loop, and I checked the size of the file where it gives the error by loading it interactively in IDLE. The size is (9,521), which is not at all huge. I tried to find if I'm supposed to clear the buffer after each iteration of the loop, but I could not find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Com server build using Python on 64-bit Windows 7 machine

    - by Vijayendra Bapte
    Original post is here: http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-win32/2010-December/011011.html I am using: OS: 64 bit Windows 7 Professional Python: python-2.7.1.amd64 Python win32 extensions: pywin32-214.win-amd64-py2.7 Py2exe: py2exe-0.6.9.win64-py2.7.amd64 I am trying to build icon overlay for Windows. It has worked fine on 32 bit Windows but not working on 64 bit Windows 7. Here are the Python modules I have created for testing: test_icon_overlay.py: ( http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-win32/attachments/20101229/bb8c78a4/attachment-0002.obj ) com server created in Python for icon overlay which adds check mark overlay icon(C:\icons\test.ico) on "C:\icons" folder setup_VI.py: ( http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-win32/attachments/20101229/bb8c78a4/attachment-0003.obj ) setup file which creates test_icon_overlay.dll for distribution. icons.zip: ( http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-win32/attachments/20101229/bb8c78a4/attachment-0001.zip ) for testing you should extract icons.zip inside C:\ Icon overlay appears on C:\icons folder when I execute python test_icon_overlay.py on Windows command prompt and restarts explorer.exe. But its not working with the dll file created using setup_VI.py I have created dll file using python setup_VI.py py2exe and then tried to register it using regsvr32 test_icon_overlay.dll. Registration fails with windows error message Error 0x80040201 while registering shell extension. Then I turned on logger in Python27/Lib/site-packages/py2exe/boot_com_servers.py and here is the traceback which I am getting in comerror.txt on regsvr32 test_icon_overlay.dll PATH is ['C:\\root\\avalon\\module\\sync\\python\\src\\dist\\library.zip'] Traceback (most recent call last): File "boot_com_servers.py", line 37, in <module> pywintypes.error: (126, 'GetModuleFileName', 'The specified module could not be found.') Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 1, in <module> NameError: name 'DllRegisterServer' is not defined Looks like there might be a problem with win32api.GetModuleFileName(sys.frozendllhandle) or with the dll build on 64-bit Windows 7. Also, I saw that installation of pywin32-214.win-amd64-py2.7 on 64-bit Windows 7 finish with the error message: Snapshot close failed in file object destructor: sys.excepthook is missing lost sys.stderr Is there anything which I am doing wrong? Any help on this is highly appreciated.
