• How to determine the inner context node within an XSLT select

  Hi there! I'm trying to determine a subset of nodes stored in the variable objs by using a user defined function cube:is_active: <xsl:variable name="active_cubes" select="$objs[cube:is_active(XXX) = 'TRUE']"/ Since the function does not allow a local context I'm required to pass it as a parameter (denoted by XXX). However, the usual suspects "." or "current()" do not work since they refer to context node of the surrounding block and NOT to the current element of objs which is evaluated. The only solution so far which DOES work is: XXX=SOME_CHILD_TAG/.. But this is really ugly since it depends on the existence of the child tag for the parent node to work correctly. Is there any other way? Thanks!

• Troubleshooting occasional timeout of select() in windows

  I'm having an occasional problem with select() timing out on me. I have it set for twenty seconds. The system will handle 100's of transactions correctly, but occasionally one fails with the selet timing out. It does about 1 transaction every few seconds, opening and closing the tcp conncetion with each transaction. I thought the server my app was connecting to might have to many connection attempts pending, but no 4226 events are showing up in the logs One more point thing I noticed when using wireshark that I'm getting a SYN,RST in response to the SYN I am appearently sending. This only happens a few times over the first second or two, then I don't see any more activity in Wireshark

• Z-Index problems with IE6 and html <select> element

  I have a <div> that opens up on a jquery hover event (display goes from hidden to block). Sometime it's opens up over some form elements. And of course it works fine in all browsers except IE6. <select> boxes bleed through as if there z-index is higher than the <div> tag. I've tried setting the <div> tag with a higher z-index, but it still gets ignored by IE6. I'm hoping to implement any fix -- jquery or css, I really don't care at this point. Any ideas?

For example, we have the following structure in our XML: <item> <latitude/> <longitude/> </item> I want to see if there are any records that have latitude/longitude in the opposite order i.e. <longitude/> then <latitude/>. I've tried some XPath expressions but with no luck.

I would like to select the books according to a list of tags. For example : selected tags list : {A,B} - book 1 My idea was to use the MINUS SQL function, to subtract book tags list to the selected tags list, and return the book if the list was empty. Unfortunately, this SQL function is not supported by HQL. Any idea about that ?

How would you write an algorithm that takes care of this? In other words, that makes sure that on 10.000 random picks, A will be selected 2.481 times?

  I am using an alphabetical sorting feature and need a SQL statement to return records beginning with a variable length string. However, records also need to be returned if there are periods, spaces, or dashes between any of the characters in the string. For example, the string could be "M" (easy). Or "MA" (in which case it needs to return records starting with "MA", "M.A", "M A", and "M-A"). Or "MAA", and so on. This is the statement I have so far: "SELECT * from table where LEFT(name," + value.Length + ")='" + value + "'" But I can't work out how to get it to return results where there are periods, spaces or dashes in name. Any help constructing the statement would be great.

This is done to simulate a fantasy draft for a basketball game I'm working on. For example, I need a result set as followed: team1 1 team2 2 team6 3 team9 4 team9 5 team6 6 team2 7 team1 8 As you can see, the first four teams are random then then following four are in reverse order.   I'm using Rails 3. I want to create a select tag with some options grouped and others not grouped. Options would look something like this: Income Auto Fuel Maintenance Home Maintenance Mortgage In this example, Income is not a group, but Auto and Home are. I see three helper methods grouped_options_for_select and grouped_collection_select, option_groups_from_collection_for_select. Is there a way to use a helper to do this or will I have to generate the HTML myself? I imagine I could use two different helpers to create the options and just append the results of both.

  Hey everyone This is a real newbie question. I have simple app that selects a picture and display's that picture in a PictureBox. I decided to mess with the Opacity Attribute so I added a timer and created this cool effect where the Main Form's Opacity is increased by 20% every 400 miliseconds. The problem is that now when I click the button that invokes the Select File Dialog Box I'm getting a NullReferenceException error. private void tmrClock_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (ViewerForm.ActiveForm.Opacity != 1) { ActiveForm.Opacity = ActiveForm.Opacity + .20; } } The error message is pointing to the if statement. I'm not getting the escapes right. It's something like this where 'Code', 'Description' and 'Absent' are the columns I want from the table.
