• CRT not initialized

  I'm trying to compile one project with MSVC 2010, compilation is ok, but when I try to run the app, it gives me CRT not initialized error. It is a console application, so I tried to specify mainCRTStartup as Entry Point, but it didn't help. In the same solution there are other projects, and they don't have such a problem. The difference which I see between them is that one which is not working, uses boost. Boost v1.38.0 if this is important. Runtime Library is Multi-threaded DLL. • Maximum open sll connections on Windows

  version: erlang R13B Hi all, how can I increase the amount of ssl ports/handles that my network server is able to create on Windows? On linux I was able to successful create about 1000 connections using: -env ERL_MAX_PORTS 80000 -P 268435456 and changing the maximum open fd's using ulimit. On windows apparently there is no effect using the same configuration, and sadly the number of open connections are VERY small (about 30, and it opens 6 handles for each one). I've noticed that the shell starts two other children processes, inet_gethost.exe and ssl_esock.exe. If these are the ones that I have to increase the port count, how do I do that? Thanks,

• Filemaker XSL 20sec Query Latency

  I have an ASP frontend that loads data from a Filemaker database using XSL to perform simple queries. The problem is that the first page load takes 20 seconds +/- 200ms, then the next few page refreshes within a minute of the first request take <200ms, then the cycle starts over again. Each page load makes only 2 XSL queries, and they execute fast after the first page load, so what is causing the delay on the first page load? I have caching turned up with a 100% hit rate, and number of connections at 100. I've tried with XSL database sessions on and off, and session time anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes without any changes. The XSL loads from ASP use a GET request and add a Basic Authorization header to authenticate each time. During fast page requests, the fmserver.exe and fmswpc.exe processes don't even flinch, but during a 20 second holdup I see fmserver jump to 30% CPU and a 3mb I/O read a few seconds into the request, and occasionally fmswpc jump to 60% CPU.

• How do I take a copy of my working copy to share with others?

  I did a ton of changes to our code and before I commit, I would like a friend to review. Is there a way with SVN to take a copy of my working copy (to bundle everything in a package) and apply the changes I have made so far to another machines without having to commit? In the past, with another source control system, I was able to do the following to "pack" and "unpack" my changes.   Hi, we have a VB6 binary executable that comes with no source code. And we need to change the label text for that VB6 application from "AAA" to "BBB". Is there any way or tools that can do that? The closest tool I can find right now is microsoft UISpy, it can read all the other elements but not the label. I hope there is a tool that can change the resource in the .exe so that the label "AAA" will read "BBB". Or is it possible to write a wrapper application, it will launch the .exe, examine the application screen for "AAA" and change that to "BBB"? Thank you for your help!

  I use ruby 1.9.3p194 (2012-04-20) [i386-mingw32] on Windows7 To do mySQL backup I run runas /savecred /user:yogurt\administrator "cmd.exe /k mysqldump --user=#{dbuser} --password=#{dbpassword} #{dbname} > #{dump}" - mysqldump must be executed as administrator. I do not run my ruby scripts under administrator account. runas starts new cmd.exe and ruby doesn't wait for it to finish. Dump process takes about one minute to finish. After that I zip the dump file and delete it. But I have to make sure that the dump process already finished before I do any other action on that file. Right now I use sleep(60) that works but I wonder if there any better more systematic solution.

  According to this article, the version of a referenced dll is embedded in the exe file. Using ProcExp, I can see that the runtime loaded dll is indeed the latest dll available on my machine, but I'm interested to know the linked version. As a side note, I built the project using the VS9 msbuild, and interested in the VC runtime (msvcr90.dll) version. In the VC9 redist folder it is 9.0.30729.1, runtime the .4926 is loaded. My questions are: Is there any tool with which I can extract the dll version linked to (from the dll/exe)? Which version does VS link to by default? The one found in its redist folder? Thank you.

  This is just a bit of a general question regading app/lib file sizes. When I build a particular library in my C++ solution I notice that the .lib file size is larger in the release build than in the debug (1.2mb Vs 800k). However when I build an app in the same solution, using the aforementioned library, the release .exe is always smaller (as I'd expect) than thew debug .exe (50k vs 200k). I would always have expected the release verisons of anything to be smaller than the debug versions. What gives?

I did that and it compiled fine. Now, but when I gave the exe to one of my colleagues to run, they told me - they can't run it as it requires some shared dll, so they need a static one. When I try to do static build then I get the error as mentioned in my previous link. Do, I need to provide some other file as well with exe. I have got .lib file as well in the build directory. Shall I provide taht one as well? I can run it fine on my m/c in whichever directory I put it. Any help is much appreciated as I am really stuck. Thanks in advance, Suchita

• Is there a way to load multiple app.configs in memory?

  I have a windows service that loads multiple "handlers" written by different developers. The windows service exe has it's own app.config which I need. I'm trying to make it so that each developer can provide their own app.config along with their handler code. However, it seems an exe can only have one app.config. However, ASP.NET seems to support nested web.config... That's not exactly what I want, but I don't even know how I would get that to work in a windows service. Anyone come across this before or have any ideas?

I'm just starting with Java programming, I've made a simple application that uses SWT graphic library and I want to deploy it on a Mac (running the latest version of MacOS X). I did all the programming in my Windows 7 machine, so here are my questions: Q1) Can I make an executable file for MacOS X from my Windows machine? How? (I saw that it's possible to create .exe files on Windows, instead of using .jar; I want to do the same for the Mac, of course it won't be an .exe) Q2) If I export my project in Eclipse and I choose Runnable JAR File and then on Library Handling I pick Extract required libraries into generated JAR or Package required libraries into generated JAR I end up with a huge .JAR (about 15MB of size, my application consist in just a button on a Window and a tiny method that doesn't do much).
