    Hi people, As you know, SBT is compatible with Maven in some way -- SBT recognizes simple Maven POMs and can use dependencies and repositories specified in them. However, SBT wiki says that, if inline dependency is specified in SBT project definition, POM will be ignored (so using both in this case is impossible): Maven and Ivy configurations (pom.xml and ivy.xml) are ignored when inline dependency declarations are present. Does anyone know, if any kind of converter from Maven POM to SBT project definition exists (translating POM's XML into project definition Scala code)? I'm considering writing such script (that will help to migrate my old Scala/Maven projects to SBT), but want to know first, if this functionality already exists. Thanks in advance.

  • Hibernate constraint ConstraintViolationException. Is there an easy way to ignore duplicate entries?

    Basically I've got the below schema and I'm inserting records if they don't exists. However when it comes to inserting a duplicate it throws and error as I would expect. My question is whether there is an easy way to make Hibernate to just ignore inserts which would in effect insert duplicates?   • Optimising Database Calls

    I have a database that is filled with information for films, which is (in turn) read in to the database from an XML file on a webserver. What happens is the following: Gather/Parse XML and store film info as objects Begin Statement For every film object we found: Check to see if record for film exists in database If no film record, write data for film Commit Statement Currently I just test for the existence of a film using (the very basic): SELECT film_title FROM film WHERE film_id = ? If that returns a row, then the film exists, if not then I need to add it... The only problem is, is that there are many many hundreds of records in the database (lots of films!) and because it has to check for the existence of a film in the database before it can write it, the whole process ends up taking quite a while (about 27 seconds for 210 films) Is there a more efficient method of doing this, or just any suggestions in general? So far I have only been able to get the entire message box to appear in bold, or none of it at all. How do I do this?

  • SaveFileDialog problem (C#) (VS2008)

    Hi all, I am having an issue with SaveFileDialog for some reason. All I want to do is extract data from a text box line by line and write it to a text file, then save that text file to the desktop. The first bit of code works fine (though it doesn't save to the desktop). The second bit of code is what I want to use, but when it creates the text file the text file is empty. What did I do wrong in my second bit of code?     Hi, so in my program I have parts where I use try catch blocks like this try { DirectoryInfo dirInfo = new DirectoryInfo(someString); //I don't know if that directory exists //I don't know if that string is valid path string... it could be anything //Some operations here } catch(Exception iDontCareWhyItFailed) { //Didn't work? great... we will say: somethings wrong, try again/next one } Of course I probably could do checks to see if the string is valid path (regex), then I would check if directory exists, then I could catch various exceptions to see why my routine failed and give more info... But in my program it's not really necessary. Now I just really need to know if this is acceptable, and what would a pro say/think about that. Thanks a lot for attention.

    I'm undecided what's the best-practice approach for what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to enter data into an array where the data will look like this: apple color: red price: 2 orange color: orange price: 3 banana color: yellow price: 2 pineapple color: yellow price: 5 When I get input, let's say green apple (notice it's a combo of color + name of fruit), I'm going to check if the name of fruit part exists in the array and display its data (if it exists). What's the right way to compose those arrays? How would I do an indexed array containing an associative array? (or would this be better as 2 nested associative arrays, I'm guessing not)

  • Missing backslashes in filename using C#

    Hi, I have a string literal as follows: string filename = @"C:\myfolder\myfile.jpg"; When I use File.Exists(filename) it works most of the time but sometimes I get an error saying the following file doesn't exist: C:myfoldermyfile.jpg Something seems to strip the backslashes out of the filename. This code is sometimes accessed via an ajax request. Does anyone know why/how this could be happening?   • String Utility Library for Code Generation

    CodeSmith has a nice StringUtils class that can be used to change database object names to singular, plural, camel case, pascal case, etc... Very useful for creating data access layers in their code generation tool. I'm trying to port some CodeSmith templates to the T4 template files used by Visual Studio, and I'm trying to find a similar library to do these things. There must be one somewhere in T4, since that's what is used to produce the LINQ to SQL classes, and it does a nice job of pluralization / singularization. Does anyone know where this library exists, or if a free library with similar functionality exists somewhere? Thanks!

  • Is there a DOS command for verifying what version of .NET is installed

    I have set of scripts for doing scripted installs. You can use the scripts on any server 2008 machine. However, I need to check if .NET 3.5 has been installed (before the scripts run) using a dos batch file. Is that possible? I know I can check if a file in the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5 exists, but it would be nice to have something a little more reliable. I would like to check if it's actually installed, not just if the dir/file exists. Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance.

There does not seem to be enough data to create the table. For example, when I look purely at parentId = 6: -Part 6 -Part 7 - ? - ? -Part 9 - ? - ? We know that parts 8 and 10 exists below Part 7 or 9, but not which. We know that part 10 exists at both 3 and 4 nodes deep but where? If I look at other data in the table it is possible to tell it should be: - Part 6 - Part 7 - Part 9 - Part 10 - Part 9 - Part 10 I thought one of the benefits of closure tables was there was no need for recursive queries? Could you help explain what I am doing wrong? EDIT: For clarification, this is a mapping table. There is another table called "parts" which has a column called part_id that correlates to both the parentId and childId columns in the "closure" table. The "id" column in the table above (closure) is just for the purposes of maintaining a primary key. It is not really necessary. The methods I have used to create this closure table is described in the following article: http://dirtsimple.org/2010/11/simplest-way-to-do-tree-based-queries.html EDIT2: It can have two and three hops. I will explain easier by assigning names to the items. Part 6 = Bicycle Part 7 = Gears Part 8 = Chain Part 9 = Bolt Part 10 = Nut Nut is part of Bolt. The Bolt and Nut combo exists directly within Bicycle and within Gears which is part of Bicycle. In relation to what method to use I have looked at Adjacency, Edges, Enum Paths, Closures, DAGS(networks) and the Nested Set Model. I am still trying to work out what is what, but this is an extremely complex component database where there are multiple parents and any modification to a sub-tree must propogate through the other trees. More importantly there will be insertions, deletions and tree views that I wish to avoid recursion during general use, even at the cost of database space and query time during entry.

  • In Lisp, Avoid "Cannot open load file" when using require

    I am working on a custom .emacs file that I will be able to use on several different computers. I would like to be able to load a mode if it exists on the system. If it does not exist I would like Emacs to stop showing the error: File error: Cannot open load file, X. For example: (require 'darkroom-mode) Results in: File error: Cannot open load file, darkroom-mode I am using file-exists-p to test if certain other files exist but for this test I would assume I need to search my load-path. I am new to Lisp so this is stumping me.

    Snow Leopard introduced many new methods to use NSURL objects to refer to files, not pathnames or Core Services' FSRefs. However, there's one task I can't find a URL-based method for: Testing whether a file exists. I'm looking for a URL-based version of -[NSFileManager fileExistsAtPath:]. Like that method, it should return YES if the URL describes anything, whether it's a regular file, a directory, or anything else. I could attempt to look up various resource values, but none of them are explicitly guaranteed to not exist if the file doesn't, and some of them (e.g., NSURLEffectiveIconKey) could be costly if it does. I could just use NSFileManager's fileExistsAtPath:, but if there's a more modern method, I'd prefer to use that. Is there a simple method or function in Cocoa, CF, or Core Services that's guaranteed/documented to tell me whether a given file (or file-reference) URL refers to a file-system object that exists?

    Attempting to write a check for a login script to see if the username is available. Would the best way to write this query be to check if isset(!_POST[]) for both values (nick and pass) then connect to database WHERE the mysql database for the usernick requested return the user id if the usernick exists evaluate if isset($id) to see if the user name is taken and use that to continue to creating an entry Does this logically sound like a method to check for login without using excessive code sorry for not posting the code, it is on another computer and this computer is locked down by my administrator at work... Also, is there another way to evaluate if a value exists in the database? For instance, instead of setting $id to the return value of the mysql database can i just ping the mysql database for the information and have it return a Boolean result so I am not putting out any user information.   • Installing PostgreSQL on Windows

    I'm in a bit of a mess here. I installed PostgreSQL on my Vista computer a couple of days ago but then when asked to enter the password for the postgre user account I couldn't remember it (allegedly I was asked during setup but I don't remember that). Anyway, so I uninstalled Pg with the intention of reinstalling it, removed the user account, it's /Users/ directory and it's special privelleges ("Advanced user profile properties") but when I come to install Pg it seems to think the account still exists as when I supply a password during setup it says that it is not the correct password - meaning that the account still exists somewhere. Is there anyway I can recover this?

    ARGH Eclipse is SO frustrating I have a directory called c:\RemoteSrc . Under this there are 3 directories which are currently source folders (I think? the icon is an open folder with a little orange grid in it) in my Eclipse project. I have dropped a new directory under c:\RemoteSrc which I also want to add to my project. BUT If I right click on my project and go "Build Path..." - "Link Source" and try to add it it tells me "Folder already exists with a different case". Yes i KNOW that the folder already exists THATS WHY IM TRYING TO ADD IT.

  • SubSonic 3.0 - Save method with all columns as parameters?

    Hi, Just getting started with SubSonic. I'm using the Repository pattern, so my domain objects are totally seperate, and SubSonic-generated classes are used only in my data access layer. I'm wondering if a template exists that will give me a Save method (Insert/Update) that requires all table column values as parameters. My thinking is that since I need to do the mapping work manually, at least if my database schema changes (ie, a new column is added), I won't forget to add a corresponding mapping, since the auto-generated method signature would change and the compiler would catch it. I've considered messing with the T4 templates to add this feature, but thought I'd check if this already exists somewhere before I head down that path. Thanks in advance.

  • Delete temp file during finally vs delete output file during catch

    This is in Java 6. I've seen more than once that people create temp files, do something, then rename it to the output file. Everything is wrapped in a try-finally block, where the temp file is deleted in finally in case something goes wrong in between. try { //do something with tempFile //do something with tempFile //do something with tempFile tempFile.renameTo(outputFile); } finally { if (tempFile.exists()) tempFile.delete() } I was wondering what are the benefits of doing that instead of doing something to the output file directly and delete it in case of exceptions. try { //do something with outputFile //do something with outputFile //do something with outputFile } catch (Exception e) { if (outputFile.exists()) outputFile.delete(); } My guess is that deleting temp files in finally benefits me when the try block can throw many kinds of exceptions. Is my guess right? What else?

  • Dynamically created image doesn't show when <img>'s src is refreshed to point to it

    Hello, I have a javascript function generateGraph() { ... jQuery.get('chart.php?month='+month+'&year='+year); document.getElementById('graph').src = 'charts/'+month+'_'+year+'.png'; ... } which is called onChange. It basically creates, if not exists, or refreshes if already exists, a PNG image (using the first line above) and supposedly displays the generated image (using the second line above). The first line works, but the second one doesn't. Meaning, the image is generated, but the second line can't display the image, unless the page is reloaded, or if the image being referred to already existed before the page was loaded (meaning the 1st line just "refreshed" the image) Any ideas as to why this is and how to fix it?
