• Why is Apache seg faulting?

  We have a production server that seems to Seg Fault a few times every day. The fault is picked up by Apache and logged in the error log - but there seems to be no traffic around the time. If it's a request generating the fault then it looks like it happens before any other logging is made so I can't see how it's happening so it's very hard to debug. Any thoughts on how I could do this? It has to be done using .htaccess, I have been achieving it by using our PHP framework, but this has been messing our Google crawl. Cheers!

  Couple of months ago, we revamped our web site. We adopted totally new site structure, specifically merged several pages into one. Everything looks charming. However, there are lots of dead links which produce a large number of 404 errors. So how can I do with it? If I leave it alone, could it bite back someday, say eating up my pr? One basic option is using 301 redirect, however it is almost impossible considering the number of it. So is there any workaround? Thanks for your considering!

  I've got a website that is running WordPress. It has several pictures that I am retrieving from a datafeed. I want to rewrite the images to where they show as from my website. • How can I accept a hash mark in a URL via $_GET?

  From what I have been able to understand, hash marks (#) aren't sent to the server, so it doesn't seem likely that I will be able to use raw PHP to parse data like in the URL below: index.php?name=Ben&address=101 S 10th St Suite #301 I'm looking to pre-populate form fields with this $_GET data. How would I do this with Javascript (or jQuery), and is there a fallback that wouldn't break my form for people not using Javascript? Currently if there is a hash (usually in the address field), everything after that is not parsed in or stored in $_GET.

• Prepend 'www' to an HTTPS url using .htaccess & mod_rewrite

  I have a dilemma with this one. With the following code I am able to force SSL on any non SSL url, however when the user (and results from Google) take the user to http://mysite.co.za then we hit an issue as the url is then rewritten to https://mysite.co.za Due to the fact that my certificate is bound to www.mysite.co.za it immediately throws a security error because of the missing 'www' in the url. Can someone point out a way to add the www to the domain when the domain starts with HTTPS and not HTTP? Much appreciated. • htaccess rewriterule with order in url

  I'm trying to put together a rewrite rule for an Apache server. It should take 'order/###' and change it to 'order.php?id=###'. For some reason it's rewriting as 'order.php/###'. If I change it to anything other than 'order' my rule works fine. Anyone know what's going on? • Can an URL shortener pass parameters?

  Hi, I use bit.ly to shorten my urls. My problem - paramters are not passed. Let me explain I use http://bit.ly/MYiPhoneApps which redirects (let's say) to http://iphone.pp-p.net/default.aspx Now when I try http://bit.ly/MYiPhoneApps?param=xx this param is not added to the resulting url. I know I could create an extra "short url" including a paramter - so http://bit.ly/WithParam would result in http://www.mysite.com/somepath/apage.aspx?Par1=yy and so forth. But what I want is to have a short URL directing to a page - and then I want to add a parameter to this shortened url - which shoul (of course) land at my page. Is this a shortcome of bit.ly (and others are maybe able to do it) - or does "parameter forwarding" not work with 301 redirections? Manfred

• mod_rewrite to change my urls

  Hi, I've been fighting with mod-rewrite for a while. Basically, I have a website that I'm moving to a difference namespace/directory. What I'd like to do is change urls that look like this: http://mydomain.com/index.php?a=xxxxxxxxxx These urls will always have "index.php?a=". I have a different/new site that also has an index.php file, so it's important that I do a rewrite only when a= is in the URL. The new url should be like http://mydomain.com/ns1/index.php?a=xxxxxxxxxxx Seems pretty simple, but i can't seem to get mod_rewrite to do it for me, here's what I have: # rewrite old urls to new namespace RewriteRule ^/index.php\?a=(.*)$ /gc1/index.php\?x=1&a=$1 [R=301,L] See anything wrong?

• 500 error on https, site loads fine [closed]

  Using http://web-sniffer.net/, I'm seeing a 500 internal error when accessing the https://www version of my site (https://moblized.com). However that URL loads perfectly fine with no errors. I was checking this because Google Webmaster is showing a bunch of 500 errors on my site. Also just noticed that I get a 200 success error if sniffing with HTTP 1.0, but a 500 with HTTP 1.1 Note: All other URL versions 301 redirect to https://www, eg. http://www , https:// , http:// FIXED: For any curious parties, there was one PHP bug that was causing a fatal error, but was still allowing the page to load.
