Macports install of ack doesn't create correct executable

Centos 6.2 postfix install dependency issues

I am administrating a VPS running cPanel and I'm trying to install postfix. Surely Centos 6.2 could not have shipped with a broken postfix.

Windows Update broke Wirless driver - Can't get it working again

I naively installed a driver update incoming from Windows Updates yesterday. That caused my Wifi on my Notebook (HP ELitebook 2740p) to break. The network is working as I tried it with my other mobile devices. When installing said driver, it told me that the installation failed. I tried to do a system restore, which did not help getting wifi connectivity back. The device said it was working, but did not get any wifi connection and did not discover any networks. What I tried next was to uninstall the device from my Device Manager and install either the current drivers found through windows, then I tried the same with the current drivers on the HP driver page. both of those attempts failed. It always tells me that installation failed when I uninstall and reinstall drivers. If I try to update the broken driver via internet, it tells me it is up to date, and in the device manager it still views as broken. Next, I 'played' around a bit and reinstalled drivers, and I managed to install drivers from 2012, and when trying to update drivers manually and picking drivers that match the device, it lets me choose between drivers from 2010 and 2014. 2014 would be the current one, picking the 2010 driver leads to the driver being accepted. However, no wireless network can be found. I'm pretty much out of ideas by now, short of reinstalling. The only option I can still think of was that the device broke at the exact moment I installed the new windows driver, but I find that a bit unlikely. Any help would be appreciated fixing this issue.

Lot's of errors by insserv on apt-get operations after trying to install tomcat

I wanted to install tomcat on my Debian 6.0.4 machine. I tried apt-get install tomcat6-user which worked fine. But then I changed my mind about the user installation and wanted to install the package tomcat6. This resulted in a bunch of errors (see below). Now whatever I try to do with apt-get or with aptitude (trying to remove tomcat6-user, trying to remove tomcat6, trying to perform an apt-get upgrade,...) just results in the same list of errors. File Watcher Task

The task will detect changes to existing files as well as new files, both actions will cause the file to be found when available. A file is available when the task can open it exclusively. This is important for files that take a long time to be written, such as large files, or those that are just written slowly or delivered via a slow network link. It can also be set to look for existing files first (1.2.4.55). The full path of the found file is returned in up to three ways: The ExecValueVariable of the task. This can be set to any String variable. The OutputVariableName when specified. This can be set to any String variable. The FullPath variable within OnFileFoundEvent. This is a File Watcher Task specific event. Advanced warning of a file having been detected, but not yet available is returned through the OnFileWatcherEvent. This event does not always coincide with the completion of the task, as completion and the OnFileFoundEvent is delayed until the file is ready for use. This event indicates that a file has been detected, and that file will now be monitored until it becomes available. The task will only detect and report on the first file that is created or changes, any subsequent changes will be ignored. Task properties and there usages are documented below: Property Data Type Description Filter String Default filter *.* will watch all files. Standard windows wildcards and patterns can be used to restrict the files monitored. FindExistingFiles Boolean Indicates whether the task should check for any existing files that match the path and filter criteria, before starting the file watcher. IncludeSubdirectories Boolean Indicates whether changes in subdirectories are accepted or ignored. OutputVariableName String The name of the variable into which the full file path found will be written on completion of the task. The variable specified should be of type string. Path String Path to watch for new files or changes to existing files. The path is a directory, not a full filename. For a specific file, enter the file name in the Filter property and the directory in the Path property. PathInputType FileWatcherTask.InputType Three input types are supported for the path: Connection - File connection manager, of type existing folder. Direct Input - Type the path directly into the UI or set on the property as a literal string. Variable – The name of the variable which contains the path. Timeout Integer Time in minutes to wait for a file. If no files are detected within the timeout period the task will fail. The default value of 0 means infinite, and will not expire. TimeoutAsWarning Boolean The default behaviour is to raise an error and fail the task on timeout. This property allows you to suppress the error on timeout, a warning event is raised instead, and the task succeeds. The default value is false. Installation The task is provided as an MSI file which you can download and run to install it. This simply places the files on disk in the correct locations and also installs the assemblies in the Global Assembly Cache as per Microsoft’s recommendations. You may need to restart the SQL Server Integration Services service, as this caches information about what components are installed, as well as restarting any open instances of Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) / Visual Studio that you may be using to build your SSIS packages. For 2005/2008 Only - Finally you will have to add the task to the Visual Studio toolbox manually. Right-click the toolbox, and select Choose Items.... Select the SSIS Control Flow Items tab, and then check the File Watcher Task in the Choose Toolbox Items window. We recommend you follow best practice and apply the current Microsoft SQL Server Service pack to your SQL Server servers and workstations. This cache is held by the SSIS service, so you need restart the the SQL Server Integration Services service. You can do this from the Services applet in Control Panel or Administrative Tools in Windows. You can also restart the computer if you prefer. You may also need to restart any current instances of Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) / Visual Studio that you may be using to build your SSIS packages. Contact Information: File Watcher Task A similar error message can be shown when trying to edit the task if the Microsoft Exception Message Box is not installed. This useful component is installed as part of the SQL Server Management Studio tools but occasionally due to the custom options chosen during SQL Server 2005 setup it may be absent. If you get an error like Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ExceptionMessageBox.. you can manually download and install the missing component. It is available as part of the Feature Pack for SQL Server 2005 release. The feature packs are occasionally updated by Microsoft so you may like to check for a more recent edition, but you can find the Microsoft Exception Message Box download links here - Feature Pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - April 2006 If you encounter this problem on SQL Server 2008, please check that you have installed the SQL Server client components. Hello, I've setup the Django with mod_wsgi and run into this error. I thought maybe the sys.path was not setup correctly but I tried everything I could think of with no luck. Any suggestions? Hi, i am designing a Chinese auction website. Tickets ($5, $10 & $20) are sold either individually, or via packages to receive discounts. There are various Ticket packages for example: 5-$5 tickets = receive 10% off 5-$10 tickets = receive 10% off 5-$20 tickets = receive 10% off 5-$5 tickets + 5-$10 tickets + 5-$20 tickets = receive 15% off When users add tickets to their cart, i need to figure out the cheapest package(s) to give them. the trick is that if a user adds 4-$5 tickets + 5-$10 tickets + 5-$20 tickets, it should still give him package #3 since that would be the cheapest for him. Any help in figuring out a algorithm to solve this, or any tips would be greatly appreciate it. thanks

Hi, I would like to know what packages are out there that can be used to create installers to distribute applications. The target application is written in Java. The installer must be able to: be compiled via an ant script be compiled Linux (and Windows) run on Windows and Linux detect / handle previously installed versions of the application We currently use IzPack, because it does all of the above, except the latter: It cannot easily detect previously installed version of the software. Are there any other packages out there which fit the bill? Thank you!

Installing MonoDevelop on Suse Enterprise 10.0

I tried to install MonoDevelop on Suse 11.0 Enterprise, using the 1-click install on the MonoDevelop download page, but quickly wound up in a tangle of missing dependencies. I then tried using the Suse software repositories to get MonoDevelop, and waded through several of the dependencies for awhile trying to get the necessary packages to fulfill the dependencies, but some of the packages in the Suse repositories actually appear to be missing the needed RPM files. Are these repositories no longer being actively maintained? I am aware that there is a CD on the Mono site (called the Mono LiveCD) that appears to contain a complete installation of the development environment, as well as a DVD for OpenSuse 11.2 (on the OpenSuse site) that might actually have all of the Mono software already installed. But the target environment for the utility I am writing is Suse 11.0 Enterprise Server. Does that matter? What is the shortest distance between two points here?

Unable to run winpdb

I tried to run winpdb.py, but I got an error saying that it could not find wxPython. This is strange to me because I know I have wxPython installed and included in my PYTHONPATH. I can import wx in the Python interpreter. Mac OS X 10.5.8 Python 2.6 PYTHONPATH=/sw/lib/python2.6/site-packages/:/usr/local/lib/wxPython-unicode-2.8.10.1/lib/python2.6/site-packages/wx-2.8-mac-unicode: $ python winpdb.py wxPython was not found. wxPython 2.6 or higher is required to run the winpdb GUI. wxPython is the graphical user interface toolkit used by Winpdb. *Client* scalability for large numbers of remote web service calls

Hey Guys, I was wondering if you could share best practices and common mistakes when it comes to making large numbers of time-sensitive web service calls. In my case, I have a SOAP and an XML-RPC based web service to which I'm constantly making calls. I predict that this will soon become an issue as the number of calls per second will grow. On a higher level, I was thinking of batching those calls and submitting those to the web services every 100 ms. Could you share what else works? On a lower level side of the things, I use Apache Xml-Rpc client and standard javax.xml.soap.* packages for my client implementations. Are you aware of any client scalability related tricks/tips/warnings with these packages? Thanks in advance Yuriy

NetBeans not liking libraries in lib-src

When updating from the repo they have added some source code as a library under a directory called /lib-src. py2app prescripts

The py2app documentation mentions prescripts, being run by __boot__.py prior to the main python script. I couldn't find a way to easily specify any prescript on the setup.py file or build process. I did however manage to 'hack' __boot__.py manually and add another _run(prescript) command before my main _run(main_script) and it seemed to work fine. It would however be much better using the standard py2app build process. What I'm essentially trying to do is monkey-patch my sites-packages.zip file prior to the main script being launched. The prescript essentially checks for updates on the server, and if there are any, downloads them, and then overwrites the site-packages.zip file. Much quicker than having to re-install the application from scratch. Any ideas?

How to use numpy with OpenBLAS instead of Atlas in Ubuntu?

I have looked for an easy way to install/compile Numpy with OpenBLAS but didn't find an easy answer. All the documentation I have seen takes too much knowledge as granted for someone like me who is not used to compile software. There are two packages in Ubuntu related to OpenBLAS : libopenblas-base and libopenblas-dev. Once they are installed, what should I do to install Numpy again with them? Thanks! Note that when these OpenBLAS packages are installed, Numpy doesn't work anymore: it can't be imported: ImportError: /usr/lib/liblapack.so.3gf: undefined symbol: ATL_chemv. This was noticed here already. Answer to the question: Run sudo update-alternatives --all and set liblapack.so.3gf to /usr/lib/lapack/liblapack.so.3gf
