  • Text editor with spell checker that ignores (X)HTML/CSS/javascript tags?

    Do you know of any text editor that can be used with a spell checker which is smart enough to ignore XHML/CSS and javascript tags? The requirements would be: It must run in Linux; It must be free and open source; It doesn't need to have WYSIWYG capabilities, but they would be welcome. It must have built in "tag skipping" capabilities or be configurable to skip (X)HTML tags, CSS and embedded Javascript; It doesn't need to have a HTML validator, but if it does it will be a plus; I've tried to use spell checker plugins for Kate, HTML validators for Firefox, Eclipse's HTML editor, but I couldn't find a solution that have a speel checker that ignores hml tags.   • Change UITableViewCell Height on Orientation Change

    I have a UITableView with cells containing variable-height UILabels. I am able to calculate the minimum height the label needs to be using sizeWithFont:constrainedToSize:lineBreakMode:, which works fine when the table view is first loaded. When I rotate the table view the cells become wider (meaning there are fewer lines required to display the content). Is there any way I can have the height of the cells redetermined by the UITableView during the orientation change animation or immediately before or after? Thank you.

    I have a ContextMenuStrip (ctMenuMassEdit) that I want to display when left-clicking a button (btnMassEdit). I want the ContextMenuStrip to be displayed above the button, i.e. position (0,-ContextMenuStrip.Height) relative to the button: private void btnMassEdit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ctMenuMassEdit.Show(btnMassEdit, new Point(0, -ctMenuMassEdit.Height)); } However, the Height property is 0 the first time the button is clicked (I assume the ContextMenuStrip isn't created before it is shown the first time), and the result is that the ContextMenuStrip appears on top of the button. The 2nd time I click the button however, it appears in the correct position, so the basic of my logic is at least correct. I tried adding the following before showing the ContextMenuStrip, but it didn't work as hoped: if (!ctMenuMassEdit.Created) { ctMenuMassEdit.CreateControl(); } So, is there a way I can create the ContextMenuStrip before showing it the first time, so I have the correct Height property? I could of course use the hack of showing it, hiding it and showing it again, but that doesn't seem really neat...

    PHPThumb provides two great variables setting the output maximum width and height BUT "This is always overridden by ?w=_ GETstring parameter" $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['output_maxwidth'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['output_maxheight'] = 720; You can also set defaults, and for landscape/portrait: $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['w'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['h'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['hp'] = 720; $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS['wl'] = 720; You can set the getsringoverride to enforce the default width/height but then you can't have width/height smaller than the default. $PHPTHUMB_DEFAULTS_GETSTRINGOVERRIDE = false; There doesn't seem to be a way to allow the get paramaters to be used but if entering a value higher than the output_maxwidth/height it outputs that size, not the maximum. How can the output be explicitly restricted to a maximum size, hence protecting the source images?

    Hi, I've read the spec for CSS Transitions Module Level 3 and I'd like to know why it does not support image-based transitions. According to the draft, the background-image transitions are only supported when using with gradients. Both Webkit and Gecko seems to follow this practice. It's just that I see this as a major drawback. HTML 5 and CSS 3 could become the killer of Flash, but if I can't even transit between two images, I don't see how one could have beautiful menus without Flash.

    Hi, I'm writing an application to send some images to a third party, and the images must be 200x200 DPI. The image is a Bitmap and is sized at 500 width and 250 height. The first time I tested the images with the third party, my resolution was incorrect. I merely used image.SetResolution(200,200) to correctly set it to 200x200. This, however, only changed the resolution tag for the image and did not properly, according to my third party technical contact, adjust the image height and width. Is there a ratio that I can use so that for each X units I increment the resolution, I merely increment the corresponding height or width Y units? I thought that I could just increment resolution without having to increment height or width. Thank you, Aaron.

Like in my case i m using tileList inside tabNavigator , when I put contents inside the tileList, the height of tileList does not increase beyond vertical height of the viewport. It puts scrollbar on the container. I want to increase the height of an flex container with increase in the contents and introduce scrollbar on the browser with increase in contents in the flex container.   • Using CSS, how can I make overflow:visible; contents overlap adjacent <td> cells?

    I have the following CSS style code for my table: td { overflow: hidden; white-space:nowrap; } td:hover { overflow: visible; } However, when I hover over a <td> element whos contents (text) are hidden, the result is that the contents become visible but are behind the content of the adjacent cell (right side). I do not think that z-index can be applied to table cell elements, so is there a CSS attribute that I can specify within my td:hover style which will make the content of my <td> tag overlap the content in adjacent cells?

    I have a <video> element that is generated by js, and I need to get the height and width of it. var v = $('video'); v.height() returns null, because when it's run, the video hasn't yet been loaded, so no dimensions in the DOM. How do I check to see if the video has received a dimension, and if it hasn't, wait till it has to get the height and width. Thanks.

    Hi, When i work in VS2008, i use the Ctrl+K+D very often as it saves a lot of time. But in CSS files, this command formats the document in a way i don't quite like. For example when i auto format the document, .Foo { width:1px; height:2px; } However, i like to format tags this way, as it is much more easy to read (in my opinion): .Foo { width:1px; height:2px; } So, are there any way that i can implement this ? The "Tag specific options" feature seems to be the thing that i need, but i am not quite sure how to do this. Thanks.

    i plan to use neurodotnet for my phd thesis, but before that i just want to build some small solutions to get used to the dll structure. the first problem that i want to model using backward propagation is height-weight ratio. I have some height and weight data, i want to train my NN so that if i put in some weight then i should get correct height as a output. i have 1 input 1 hidden and 1 output layer. Now here is first of many things i cant get around :) 1. my height data is in form of 1.422, 1.5422 ... etc and the corresponding weight data is 90 95, but the NN takes the input as 0/1 or -1/1 and given the output in the same range. how to address this problem

My problem is now, that I set a default height for my custom UITableViewCell in Interface Builder, but when I add my [dynamic content] (which might range between 0..3) I have different cells with different heights. One thing is of course to calculate the total height and change the return value in heightForRowAtIndexPath, but how do I change the height value of my actual cell (which was loaded from a nib file with a fixed height)?

    I would like to create some buttons with dynamic width using CSS sprites and background-position but I'm not sure if what I want is possible.. I would like the button to have a left-side, middle, and right-side, with the middle repeating as required. Ideally I would like this to be made up of one image of 11px wide so the left and right sides are both 5px wide and the middle is 1px repeated. Is there some way I can define in CSS to use the one centre pixel of the image and repeat if for the required (unknown) width? Normally I've used two images to achieve similar results - one for the sides and a second image of 1px width for the middle, but if there's some way of combining them into one image I would prefer to use that.

    For several reasons, a lot of "webmaster guides" (like Google and Yahoo!'s webmaster guides/guidelines) repeats several times that it is better to always put the width and height attribute of the img tag. One of the most obvious reason is that the elements in the page won't seem to be "jumping around" to a new location after every picture is loaded (always setting the correct width/height sure gets rid of this behavior). And there are other reasons to follow these guidelines / best practices.     I have a javascript application and when I run it on firefox I am getting the following erro on the console: "The stylesheet was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html" is not "text/css". DumbStuck!! EDIT: Note that it tells that "The stylesheet ABCD..." But ABCD is actually an HTML file. Edit (ANSWER) : Actually I had wrongly put href="", and hence the html file was refenecing itself as the CSS. Mozilla had the similar bug once, and it is from there I got the answer. But everyone's else answers helped me too. Thanks.

  • How to create column width in CSS that expands with large images yet stays a default size for normal

    I am creating an HTML5 web page with a one column layout. Basically, it is a forum thread with individual posts. I have specified in my CSS file the column to be 600px wide and centered it in the window using margin: 0 auto;. However, some images that are in the individual posts are larger than 600px and spill out of the column. I'd like to widen an individual post to fit the larger images. However, I want all the other posts to still be 600px wide. Right now, I'm just using overflow:auto which will create a scroll bar, but this is less than ideal. Is this possible to have the an individual post width grow for larger content yet stay fixed for normal content? Is this possible using just pure CSS? Thanks in advance!
