  Hi, Recently got started on MapGuide. Kind of lost. The amount of information available on the web is overwhleming. My requirement is to use custom maps of a campus and building and navigate from a campus view to the floor levels and floor plans of that building. Please let me know how can I create a map service with my building images using MapGuide. Also want to use OpenLayers to render it on the browser. Pl let me know. Regards Vish.

• Can't get a SQlcommand to recognise the params added

  Hi, I've not used basic SQLCommands for a while and I'm trying to pass a param to a sproc and the run it. However when I run the code I get a "Not Supplied" error. Code: SqlConnection conn1 = new SqlConnection(DAL.getConnectionStr()); SqlCommand cmd1 = new SqlCommand("SProc_Item_GetByID", conn1); cmd1.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@ID", itemId)); conn1.Open(); cmd1.ExecuteNonQuery(); I'm not really sure why this would fail. • Losing scope for DataContex using LINQToSQL intermediately

  I am having a weird Situation with my DataConext. All My code is in C# I have a DLL project for my data access layer and business Layer which and Winforms project for my UI layer. My Data access Layer's Namespace is xxx.Data this is where have my xxx.dbml I also have xxx.Data.BusinessObjects name space of course for my business object in that project In my UI Layer I have these namespaces xxxApp(for Forms), xxxApp.Controls (For Controls) I have lost scope of the DataContext, it was accessible now when I do a Rebuild Solution I sometimes get compile errors saying for example: Error 34 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' does not contain a definition for 'SubmitChanges' and no extension method 'SubmitChanges' accepting a first argument of type 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Also intelisense doesn't recognize the methods and table classes from my xxxDataContext anymore I can access all object fine when I am in the DLL project but now in the Winforms project this is very strange. If anyone can help me out I would be extremely grateful!

• Restore history and current page on resuming webview

  I have a webview that I use to navigate from page to page. I have implemented go back and go forward. My problem is that when I return to the webview after visiting another activity, the history is lost i.e. the webview starts again on the first page. How do I code it so that after I call finish on the webview to swap to another activity on returning to the webview, the WebBackForwardList is restored and I am taken to the page I was on when I left the webview? I have tried overriding onSaveInstanceState and onRestoreInstanceState using webview.save/restoreState(bundle) but with no success. I have achieved returning to the last page by saving the last url in preferences, but have been unable to restore the entire history.

  I'm a little lost as how to run two mysql queries as one(return one result set to be sorted etc). I understand how to do multiple JOINS but need to combine the below which is more than just a multiple join - it would include a multiple where etc. 1st query sql = "SELECT s.id, s.song_name FROM `songs` as s INNER JOIN `artists` as a ON s.artist_id = a.id WHERE ((`a`.id = #{search}))" 2nd query sql = "SELECT s.id, s.song_name FROM `songs` as s INNER JOIN `similarments` as si ON s.artist_id = si.artist_id WHERE ((`si`.similar_id = #{search}))" And then run both queries at once so I can ORDER them etc. Or combine them as one big query (maybe put an OR somewhere)? • Outlook AppointmentItem - How do I programmatically add RTF to its Body?

  I would like to set the Body of an AppointmentItem to a string of RTF that contains an embedded image. Setting Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.AppointmentItem.Body results in the RTF appearing as-is in the appointment. I have tried using Redemption which wraps the appointment and exposes an RTFBody property, but the RTF formatting (including the image) is lost. In this example (which doesn't have an embedded image) the RTF appears in the document as-is.   So my situation is: I have a 2 modules that have the same structure like that: module Module1 class Config def fee_rate 2 end end end So, say, Module2 would have class Config with the method fee_rate, just with a different value (those are actually implemented in a rails engine, but it shouldn't matter) and then my model can use either Module1 or Module2 to get the fee rate value like that: def config @config ||= "#{module_name.titleize}::Config".constantize.new @config end def get_value config.get_fee * some_other_value end What I'm trying to test is if get_fee function was called on the correct class: "#{model.module_name.titleize}::Config".constantize.any_instance.expects(:get_fee).at_least_once model.get_value and on the line when I call get_value I get the following error - undefined method `*' for nil:NilClass. I'm completely lost now, so I'd appreciate any help and ideas.

• Default controller name is removed on browser refresh (CodeigniterPHP/Nginx issue?)

  For all pages in my codeigniter app except my default controller, when I refresh the browser the url isn't affected as one would expect. However for my default controller, main.php, when when I refresh the browser at "http://localhost/main" or "http://mysite.com/main", the main part is stripped off the url. So the browser bar shows just "http://localhost" or "http://mysite.com". Totally lost on where to start with this but was just wondering if anyone has come across this before...? Here's what I think could be the relevant part of my nginx.conf (if Nginx is the problem). if ($request_uri ~* ^(/main(/index)?|/index(.php)?)/?$) { rewrite ^(.*)$ / permanent; }

• What encoding to use for exporting to CSV?

  I'm developing a java app that exports data to CSV files, intended to be opened in Excel by end users. We just noticed that the export function uses Java's platform default encoding. This causes umlaut characters to be lost and unit test to fail on the build server (which is configured to have US-ASCII as its platform default encoding exactly to catch such potential problems). The question is: which would be the best encoding to use? How does Excel determine what encoding to use? Does it use something platform-specific that presumably matches Java's platform default? I'm currently leaning towards hardcoding Cp1252 - that should cover the target machines (the deployment environment is actually specified) and would fix the test problem. From googling around, Excel does not seem to handle UTF-8 well, so that's out, and sticking to the platform default encoding would require some sort of workaround hack for the tests.

• What can cause forms authentication to forget you are logged in?

  I have an asp.net web site that uses forms authentication. When users check the "remember me" it will remember the user if they close the browser and come back. I have the timeout set for a day or so. Recently I've noticed that I can be browsing the site and suddenly it forgets I'm logged in. It does not happen after 20 minutes as I can be actively browsing. My question is, what can cause this to happen? If the server recycles the app or app pool will the login be lost? On my local I can restart my machine and when I come back I'm still logged in.

  I'm creating a prototype for a java web application. Frontend is a Swing-based java applet. Backend should be a type of web-service, that is called by applet. Backend should run inside a servlet container and should have its own security (username/password) database. I know, that Tomcat has its own user database (realm), but the app should have own. Web-services, in turn, carrying out app logic and database access (via Hibernate). I'm a newbie for a web development and I'm getting lost in a huge amount of the java web frameworks. Even just reading 'introduction' and 'getting started' documents takes a lot of time. So I need an advice which framework(s) are suitable for the task and not very complex for a quick start. • Java, searching within a list of objects?

  I'm a bit lost on the way to make this happen the fastest. I have a large list of objects that have basic variable attributes (with getters / setters) and I need to do a search in this list to find the objects within the list that match a given parameter I have found how to do a regular list search but I need to, for example search for the value of the result of doing a call getName() for each object in the list and get objects that have a result that matches my input. Something like below where the third argument is the result of the method call and the second is what I am trying to find. int index = Collections.binarySearch(myList, "value", getName()); Any advice is appreciated

• TextBox loses text when InvokeRequired == false

  This is modified code I found on this site. When appending text to a TextBox and InvoveRequired is false the text will display in the box but the next time the function is called and InvokeRequired is true the text string placed by the first call is lost (""). Multiple calls when InvokeRequired is true work as expected. comBox is a type TextBox with multline = true. • Removing Duplicates in an array in C

  The question is a little complex. The problem here is to get rid of duplicates and save the unique elements of array into another array with their original sequence. For example : If the input is entered b a c a d t The result should be : b a c d t in the exact state that the input entered. So, for sorting the array then checking couldn't work since I lost the original sequence. I was advised to use array of indices but I don't know how to do. So what is your advise to do that?

  I want to be able to interrupt a long function with cython, using the usual CTRL+C interrupt command. My C++ long function is repeatedly called inside a while loop from Cython code, but I want to be able, during the loop, to send an "interrupt" and block the while loop. The interrupt also should wait the longFunction() to finish, so that no data are lost or kept in unknown status.   Hi guys. I'm looking to create an options table in my db that makes every record a system option, so I can work with a little number of fields. My db has the following structure: 3 columns named id, name, and value The following data is inserted as an example: +--+-----------+--------------------------+ |id|name |value | +--+-----------+--------------------------+ | 1|uri |www.example.com | | 2|sitename |Working it out | | 3|base_folder|/folder1/folder2/ | | 4|slogan |Just a slogan for the site| +--+-----------+--------------------------+ That way I can include a large number of customizable system options very easily. The problem is that I don't know how to retrieve them. How do I get the value of uri and store it as a var? And better yet, how do I get, for exmaple, values of id 1 and 4 only without making a query each time? (I assume multiple queries are useless and a pretty ugly method.) I know the question is pretty basic but I'm lost here. I'd really appreciate your answer!

  Can I reliably initiate the un-installation of a ClickOnce app, from within the app? In other words, I want to give the user a big "Uninstall Me Now" button on one of the forms. When a user clicks the button, I want to start the windows uninstall process for this app, and perhaps close the app. Reason: We are dead-ending a ClickOnce app and want to make it as easy to remove as it was to install. We don't want to send them down the path to "Add or Remove Programs" and risk them getting lost or distracted. Can this be done reliably?

• CSS not displayed depending on page

  I have a friend that has a really strange issue with my website. When he clicks on http://www.copeo.fr/ the page displays fine but when he clicks on a link like www.copeo.fr/user/ the CSS is not applied even after a refresh. The raw html does display. I asked him to display the CSS that is hosted on amazon S3 hcopeoressources.s3.amazonaws.com/style/futurvert/style.css and it displays fine. The code validates on W3C validator so does the CSS. I am lost what could be the origin of the issue. Could it be its enterprise cache? configuration of IE7 on his machine? If it happens to someone else who could explain the issue to me, I am all hears. Thanks

• Flash Sprite looses focus on MOUSE_DOWN event

  My Sprite class keeps losing focus when I click with the mouse - specifically after the MOUSE_DOWN event (before the click is complete). I have set mouseEnabled to false on the children, no change. I added a listener for FOCUS_OUT and noticed that the FocusEvent.relatedObject property is NULL, which is confusing me - doesn't that mean there is no new focus target, the focus is just getting lost? • What jquery based table plugin can hide sub rows?

  I'm in the need to convert excel macros into jquery code, the function is that you need to click on the plus sign to unfold and show the sub rows to modify column2 if you want to type values in column2, the other columns can't be modified. You can't straightly modify values of column2 until you unfold the parent row, because there are many sub rows belonging to parent row,say Car. The values of Name, Model, Code are existing, they are master data, no need to type or modify. please see the snapshot at folded and unfolded, besides modifying values in sub rows , I need to be able to know which sub rows are modified and values of those rows.Initially the editable columns are blank. And when you click on the minus sign, the sub rows can be folded again,but the modified values won't be lost,they are still there when unfolded again. One last requirement is it's cross devices, the code must run well on pc,mobile phone,pad. Is that possible? Many thanks.

• Capistrano SSH::AuthenticationFailed, not prompting for password

  I've been using capistrano successfully for a while now and all of a sudden in every project I've lost the ability to deploy. Environment: os X (Mavericks) ruby 1.9.3p194 rvm (locally, not on server) rails 3.2 and up RubyGems 1.8.25 I'm not using rsa_keys or anything I want capistrano to prompt for user and password. Suddenly it has decided not to ask for a password, but does ask for user. Then it rolls back and gives me the following error. [deploy:update_code] exception while rolling back: Capistrano::ConnectionError, connection failed for: sub.example.com (Net::SSH::AuthenticationFailed: Authentication failed for user [email protected]) connection failed for: sub.example.com (Net::SSH::AuthenticationFailed: Authentication failed for user [email protected]) This has occurred on my personal laptop and my iMac at work. It occurs when deploying to two different servers (both linux) I'm completely at a loss here. Any ideas?

• jQuery UI .widgets resetting scroll positions of elements contained within

  I am making heavy use of jQuery UI with my latest project. Unfortunately I've hit a major wall due to some really whacky behavior exhibited by the jQuery UI widgets when they contain elements with scrollbars for overflow. Check out this demo Scroll down in one of the .scroll-container elements Click an accordion header Click on old header - note the element was auto-scrolled to the top. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? It's screwing with a major plugin of mine that utilizes jQuery scrolling. I'm flat-out lost as to what to do here! Perhaps this is a bug worth mentioning in the jQuery UI dev forums... EDIT I am using Chrome - 8.0.552.231 and OSX 10.6.5

  Hi, in my html page, I have the following: <div id="rub"> Select at least one Rub </div> In the script code, I have if ( some condition ... ) $('rub').replace("Rubs selected:"); Which works fine, but when a second event is triggered, in the code I have if ( some other condition ... ) $('rub').replace("Selected at least one item:"); That gives the error $("rub") is null It's as if the rub reference was lost after the first replace. (Also tried with Element.replace with the same result) Any clues ? Thanks in advance.
