  • ImgBurn fails to burn data CD-R disk due to "Layouts do not match" error

    I have a reoccurring problem with the program ImgBurn. Whenever I try and burn anything to a CD-R using ImgBurn it burns just fine, except for when I go and verify the disk. It tells me that the "Layouts do not match". Windows 7 shows the disk as completely blank. Although, I see on the bottom of the disk it has been written to. I can burn ISO files to DVD-R's just fine. This only seems to happen with CD-R's. The CD-R's I'm using are Memorex Cool Colors 52x CD-R's. I have looked on Google, and it seems like I'm not the only one this happens to. Unfortunately, no one is able to provide an explanation. I have included the log file from the last CD I just burnt.   • What's the best way to fill or paint around an image in Java?

    I have a set of images that I'm combining into a single image mosaic using JAI's MosaicDescriptor. Most of the images are the same size, but some are smaller. I'd like to fill in the missing space with white - by default, the MosaicDescriptor is using black. I tried setting the the double[] background parameter to { 255 }, and that fills in the missing space with white, but it also introduces some discoloration in some of the other full-sized images. I'm open to any method - there are probably many ways to do this, but the documentation is difficult to navigate. I am considering converting any smaller images to a BufferedImage and calling setRGB() on the empty areas (though I am unsure what to use for the scansize on the batch setRGB() method). My question is essentially: What is the best way to take an image (in JAI, or BufferedImage) and fill / add padding to a certain size? Is there a way to accomplish this in the MosaicDescriptor call without side-effects?   • What file format can represent an uncompressed raster image at 48 or 64 bits per pixel?

    I am creating screenshots under Windows and using the LockBits function from GDI+ to extract the pixel data, which will then be written to a file. To maximise performance I am also: Using the same PixelFormat as the source bitmap, to avoid format conversion Using the ImageLockModeUserInputBuf flag to extract the pixel data into a pre-allocated buffer This pre-allocated buffer (pointed to by BitmapData::Scan0) is part of a memory-mapped file (to avoid copying the pixel data again.) I will also be writing the code that reads the file, so I can use (or invent) any format I wish. However I would prefer to use a well-known format that existing programs (ideally web browsers) are able to read, because that means I can visually confirm that the images are correct before writing the code for the other program (that reads the image.) I have implemented this successfully for the PixelFormat32bppRGB format, which matches the format of a 32bpp BMP file, so if I extract the pixel data directly into the memory-mapped BMP file and prefix it with a BMP header I get a valid BMP image file that can be opened in Paint and most browsers. Unfortunately one of the machines I am testing on returns pixels in PixelFormat64bppPARGB format (presumably this is influenced by the video adapter driver) and there is no corresponding BMP pixel format for this. Converting to a 16, 24 or 32bpp BMP format slows the program down considerably (as well as being lossy) so I am looking for a file format that can use this pixel format without conversion, so I can extract directly into the memory-mapped file as I have done with the 32bpp format. What raster image file formats support 48bpp and/or 64bpp?

    I am not familiar with WPF, and I just feel quite confusing. I am trying to create a little computer game, and there are elements I want to display dynamically. I use Image class and add the images to a canvas. But I'm not sure whether it's a good practice. I feel that adding controls to canvas seem to be a little wired. And I'm a little concerned about the performance, because I may need many images. The real problem is, I can't load the images from the image files. I see an example in a text book like this (XMAL): <Image Panel.ZIndex="0" Margin="0,0,0,0" Name ="image1"> <Image.Source> <BitmapImage UriSource="Bell.gif" /> </Image.Source> </Image> Where Bell.gif is added into the project. And I tried to copy this in code to create an image. new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri("Blockade.bmp"))} But I got invalid Uri exception. After some search in the Internet, I found that loading resources dynamically seems to be difficult. Can I load the files added to the project dynamically? If I use absolute path then it's OK. But I can't expect every computer will put the files in the same location. Can I use relative path? I tried new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"Pictures\Blank Land.bmp", UriKind.Relative)) } But it doesn't work. (The image is blank) Thanks.

    Hello! I have such situation - I'd like to build timeline control. So I have UserControl and ItemsControl on it (every row represents some person). The ItemsControl contains another ItemsControl as ItemsControl.ItemTemplate - it shows e.g. events for the person arranged by event's date. So it looks as some kind of grid with dates as a column headers and e.g. peoples as row headers. ........................|.2010.01.01.....2010.01.02.....2010.01.03 Adam Smith....|......[some event#1].....[some event#2]...... John Dow.......|...[some event#3].....[some event#4]......... I can have a lot of persons (ItemsControl #1 - 100-200 items) and a lot of events occured by some day (1-10-30 events per person in one day) the problem is that when user scrolls ItemsControl #1/#2 it happened toooo sloooooowwww due to a lot of elements should be rendered in one time (as I have e.g. a bit of text boxes and other elements in description of particular event) Question #1 - how can I improve it? May be somebody knows better way to build such user control? I have to mention that I'm using custom Virtual panel, based on some custom Virtual panel implementation found somewhere in internet... Question #2 - I'd like to make image with help of WriteableBitmap and render data bound control to image and to show image instead of a lot of elements. Problem is that I'm trying to render invisible data bound control (created in code behind) and it has actualWidth/Height equals to zero (so nothing rendered). How can I solve it?   • Does anchor href of an image make it download?

    So I was using yslow for firefox and my page weight was way high. My page has a main product image and then maybe 10 thumbnails. If you click a thumbnail, the image opens up in a popup done through jquery. The problem is, yslow is listing even the targets of the thumbnails as part of the page weight, so I guess for some reason the images are downloading. For example, I have: <a class="group nyroModal" rel="lightbox-group" href="/upload/topview.jpg"> <img alt="thumbnail" src="/upload/thumb/t_topview.jpg" /> </a> Would this normal html cause the "upload/topview.jpg" to automatically download? Or is it the jquery plugin "nyroModal"? I'd rather the images didn't preload, that'd waste a lot of bandwidth. So my question is, does a browser automatically try to download image files that are in the href property of anchors, or is the plugin most likely causing this?     Ok, so here is my situation. I am creating a web application using ASP.NET MVC 2 using the C# language. I have programmed in HTML, CSS, and PHP for several years and I am very new to ASP.NET. The part that I am having trouble with is the image gallery. The setup: I have a link on the navigation bar that goes to a "Galleries" page. This page will show a list of galleries. Each gallery has a title, an image, and a description. All of this information is pulled from an XML file. I'm using the XML file like a database. I wanted to use this method so that i could easily update the list of galleries and have the updated XML file automatically be reflected by the website. Now, the galleries should link to an "Images" page. This page will display a list of images within the gallery based on what gallery was selected. This page will also pull from an XML file. The problem: I cannot seem to attach a dynamic link to the image? I am also stuck and not sure how to get the correct View to display. I know I need to do something with the controllers and models, right? I have some code if needed? I would greatly appreciate any help or direction for this! Thanks!

  • Vista 64-bit, DISK BOOT FAILURE

    So I have this Acer Aspire AX3200-U3600A with Windows Vista (64-bit). Every night I turn it off and turn it back on in the morning. Around three weeks ago, I did a fresh factory reimage. Good as new. Then around two days ago, when I turned it on, I noticed it was running extremly slow. As in, it would often freeze up while I had multiple applications open when it usually never froze up. So I decided to restart my computer. Big mistake. My computer froze right after I clicked shut-down. I waited a while. Nothing. Waited some minutes. Nope. I decided to shut it down by pressing the power button. Here is where the problems begin. When I turned it back on, I saw the Windows logo and loading bar and then it loaded to black. I turned it off again forcefully by power button and then once more... then I got: AMD Data Change... Update New Data to DMI! then later the screen clears and I get: AHCI Option ROM BIOS Revision: 01.05.92 Date: 02-19-2008 Copyright (c) 2006-2008 Phoenix Technologies, LTD Port 01: Reset Port Error!! Port 02: then the screen clears again but this time, this loads from the bottom: Nvidia Boot Agent 249.0542 (copyright stuff... blah blah) PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable. PXE-M0F: Exiting Nvidia Boot Agent DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. So I try to go into Safe Mode. Well, first of all it doesn't load as fast. After it loads disk.sys from windows/drivers, it will wait a while (2-3 mins) THEN load. However it loads the Acer eRecovery Management Tool. I have three options: Reset computer to factory default, Restore computer from user's backup, or Exit. However, the top two options are gray and disabled where as the Exit is in blue and definitely clickable. So obviously safe mode is not there... A strong thing to note: In the beginning when all of this started, I did a Boot Windows Normal from pressing f8 and I got to my desktop! It logged me in. I could see the icons on my files. However my desktop was extremely slow as in when I clicked on the Start menu, it would wait a while, then load up the menu with JUST the gradient, no text or icons... so as you can see... it saw my HDD? Also, before anyone says, I have NO USB plugged in. My mouse and keyboard are not USB inputs, I assure you. And this came without a recovery CD AND when I went in BIOS, to change the BOOT ORDER, I did NOT see a CD-ROM option. And when I tried pressing ALT+F10 to get into Acer eRecovery Management, the top two options were disabled as well. But sometimes on start-up, I get: Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removeable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer. Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occured. Then I tried Last Known Good Configuration Settings, that gives me a BSOD. What should I do/

  • CSS- How to align background image over bottom border line? Jsfiddle included

    I have an image I am trying to display over the top of a bottom border, but it is being arranged behind the bottom border element (in this example, named "divider"), and I can't get it to align correctly. I would like the image to be displayed in the middle of the the border element and over the top of it. Vertically, I am trying to get the 1px line on the left and right side of the image to align with the 1px border to appear as if it is one element.   • Why does my Android App crash when loading image from gallery the 2nd time?

    Hi folks, I've written an app, thats loading images either using the android gallery app or by taking a photo using the cam. When I now load an image using the gallery, everything is fine. When the code is being executed a second time (for loading another image), the application crashes. try { Uri data = intent.getData(); ContentResolver cr = this.getContentResolver(); Bitmap mBitmap = null; mBitmap = Media.getBitmap(cr, data); imageView.setImageBitmap(mBitmap); } catch(Exception e){ showToast(this, "Failed loading image from gallery"); return; } The code crashes at the line mBimap = Media.getBitmap(cr, data);. Everything is initialized, there are no null values etc. The strange thing is: no exception is thrown, I don't get into the catch block to determine whats going wrong. Does anyone have an idea about this? Am I not allowed to "re-use" the content resolver? Do I have to free it after the first usage or something like this?

  • How to export SQL Server data from corrupted database (with disk write error)

    IT realised there was a disk write error on our production SQL Server 2005 and hence was causing the backups to fail. By the time they had realised this the nightly backup was old, so were not able to just restore the backup on another server. The database is still running and being used constantly. However DBCC CheckDB fails. Also the SQL Server backup task fails, Copy Database fails, Export Data Wizard fails. However it seems all the data can be read from the tables (i.e using bcp etc) Another observation I have made is that the Transaction Log is nearly double the size of the Database. (Does that mean all the changes arent being written to the MDF?) What would be the best plan of attack to get the database to a state where backups are working and the data is safe? Take the database offline and use the MDF/LDF to somehow create the database on another sql server? Export the data from the database using bcp. Create the database (use the Generate Scripts function on the corrupt db to create the schema on the new db) on another sql server and use bcp again to import the data. Some other option that is the right course of action in this situation? The IT manager says the data is safe as if the server fails, the data can be restored from the mdf/ldf. I'm not sure so insisted that we start exporting the data each night as a failsafe (using bcp for example). IT are also having issues on the hardware side of things as supposedly the disk error in on a virtualized disk and can't be rebuilt like a normal raid array (or something like that). Please excuse my use of incorrect terminology and incorrect assumptions on how Sql Server operates. I'm the application developer and have been called to help (as it seems IT know less about SQL Server than I do).     I need to run vista recovery but its boot loader is destoryed. The only way to run reovery seems to be burning a temporary DVD from base.wim and boot.wim taken from vista recovery partition. How can I do this without having any vista installation or DVD? I can dowload anything but ony from legitimate sources (e.g. not torrents etc). Thank you in advance.

  • Want to install OS from USB instead of CD : How to deal with *.img image files?

    I'm on windows. I'm trying DragonflyBSD operating system. as you can see here: http://www.dragonflybsd.org/download/ there are two kinds of images CD (.iso) and USB (.img) files available for download. I downloaded *.iso and using UNetbootin to make a bootable USB stick. But its taking hell lot of time. Its been 2 hours and its just 50% done(9k of 18k files). I'm really pissed off now! I used *.iso because I didn't know how to deal with *.img files. Will it be quick *.img file? How to use it to make bootable USB?

  • Can't boot into Ubuntu from CD, or from Acronis True Image recovery disk

    I can boot my computer off a home-burned-from-ISO-image Windows 7 (x64 or x86) installation CD, without problems. It's a Quad 6600, 4GB RAM, 8800GT and most of the time runs Win7 with no problems. However, if I boot off a CD containing Ubuntu (10.04 or 9.something IIRC), or a recovery disk created with Acronis True Image Home 2010, it: boots starts to load the OS from the CD then hangs ... and I have to reset. I've tried all these CDs on another computer, and they boot up into Ubuntu or Acronis respectively with no problems at all. Any ideas what to look for? Sorry this is a little vague but I have no idea where to start, really ... if there's more information needed I'll edit the question. TIA!

  • Proxmox - Uploading disk image

    I've got a KVM Virtual Machine in my local PC, and I'd like to copy it to a Proxmox server. According to the docs, I just have to create a new VM on Proxmox and add the existing disk image to it, but how do I upload the image to the server? In the admin panel, if I click in MyStorage - Content - Upload, it just give me options to upload ISOs, VZDump backup files or OpenVZ templates. Would it be enough with a copy using scp? In that case, in which folder?

  • Clonezilla multiple disks restore to single disk

    I have a clonezilla image from a machine that had 3 seperate disks (one partition per disk). I want to know if I can restore that image to another computer that has a hard drive that's much larger than the original, but only has one drive. Clonezilla is stating that it can't do this automatically, and perhaps I should try cnvt-ocs-dev but I've no idea what that means (Google is less than forthcoming with information about it too). Ok so I found out what cnvt-ocs-dev is, and that allows me to move source/destination targets between physical disks, but it doesn't seem to be able to move the partition as well.

  • Nginx save file to local disk

    My case is: In our China company, we have to access one web server in USA headquarter through Internet. But network is too slow, and we download many big image files. All our developers have to wait. So we want to setup a Nginx which acts as reverse proxy, its upstream is our USA web server. Question is can we make Nginx save the image files from USA web server into its local disk? I mean let Nginx act as one cache server.
