  • Where should I put the code for a Django admin action for a third party app?

    Hi, I'm new to Django. I am writing my own administrative action for a third party app/model, similar to this: http://mnjournal.com/post/2009/jul/10/adding-django-admin-actions-contrib-apps/ It's a simple snippet of code. I'm just wondering where people suggest that I put it. I don't want to put in the third party app because I might need to update to a newer version at some point. Thanks.

  • Any way to add tabbed forms in django administration site ?

    When using Django "out-of-the-box" administration forms, the "change form" pages can be rather long for complex models (with a lot of fields). I would like to use tabs in the "change form", so things can be more readable (group fields by tabs...) Instead of doing it all by myself, by modifiying the 'change_form.html' admin template, I was wondering whether somebody has already done that and would like to share the code, or whether an existing Django-plugin already exist.   • Django: How do I use assert False, sys.exc_info()[0] without showing a system error page?

    I'm new to Django and have some code in my views.py like this: try: myfunction() except: assert False, sys.exc_info()[0] This is very helpful because I get an email with lots of useful info if there's an error. The problem is that it also redirects the user to a Webfaction system error page. What I'd like to know is how do I still get the useful error email, but redirect the user to my own error page? Also, is this the best way to be handling errors in Django?

  • Add Comment and Reaction Count in Wordpress with Disqus plugin

    Okay I'm trying to add comments and reactions count just like what you would normally see on some wordpress blogs like http://johntwang.com/blog/ where on the left top of each post there is ** comment and * reactions* My problem is I can't find the disqus's documentation, where hopefully there is some method I can call to return me the number of reactions and comments. Also if I use the wordpress default method <?php comments_popup_link ('zero','one','more','CSSclass','none');?> it only displays "Comments" not even the comment's number count on the main page. How can I add reaction and comment count with disqus plugin ? edit: well my site is http://www.windows7hacker.com/ I don't know how I suppose to add comments count at first place. But right now if I use the wordpress method, it will return me only comments, which is exactlly one of the problem they have described in their help page I've tired to check the comment count option still doesn't work :(

  • Windows 7 comments field missing when browsing network

    I have just purchased three Windows 7 Professional Dell 64-bit PCs for testing prior to upgrading our company’s 120+ PCs from Windows XP Professional. The setup is a standard domain with a Windows Server 2003 32-bit server. We name each PC XP1 to XP150 so that when users join or leave, I don’t have to rename the PC. We use the Description field to allocate the user’s name to each PC. We also have a share set up on each PC using the user’s name. When I browse the network using Windows Explorer in XP, I get a useful display. The left pane showing the PC number and the right pane showing NAME and COMMENTS So, for example I would see: XP01 Fred Bloggs (Each PC on a new row.) The right pane is my main tool for administering the network. I can easily see the PC number and the name of the user. However, in Windows 7, this seems to have been thrown out of the window and replaced with fields that I do not need and in my case always display the same info. "Name", "Category", "Workgroup", "Network Location" In my case the Name column gives the PC number (XP10) etc and all three other columns display identical useless information. So I can’t see who is using XP10. When I am in “help desk” mode, I would naturally ask the user’s name and use my remote desktop client to view their screen. The user isn’t aware of their PC name, so I am finding it impossible to match the user name with a PC number. Any ideas how to overcome this "by design" change to Windows 7?

    Hi, My textmate suddenly stopped recognizing comments in code and the shortcut for commenting out code (Command + /). I have found Comments in the Bundle Editor for HTML, but it doesn't look like I can set an activation key for it or anything. Does anyone have any experience with this part of TextMate? cheers!

  • getting comments on facebook is limited to 50?

    Hi, strangely , lately when I'm trying to retrieve comments with the old facebook api I can get only the latest 50. And I didnt see any paging option there. And it doesnt matter if I use stream.getcomments or directly FQL . The weird thing is that using the same fql with the new api gives me all the comments. got a clue?

So I would be able to see the stream of incoming revisions and mark which of them I already reviewed.
