  • How to handle HTTPStatus Response 201 with AS3 / Flash / SWFUpload

    Hey all. I'm using SWFUpload on a Rails site to allow for MP3 Uploads direct to Sound Cloud. To avoid having to first upload a large file to my server and push to Sound Cloud, I'm hitting their API directly via SWFUpload, passing necessary OAuth token data. Everything works - EXCEPT - Flash can't handle the HTTP response code that Sound Cloud's API returns (201). This ALWAYS triggers an unhandled IO Error with Flash. Even though SWFUpload allows me to override that in the JS, it breaks any response data (the URI to the uploaded file). Does anyone know how I could somehow intercept the 201 code so that I can make it a 200 code for flash? I'm at a loss at how I can avoid this IO Error. I've tried try/catch statements around everything and have even recompiled SWFUpload to try new things to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This used to work for me but is now not working anymore and I can't figure out why. I have in-app purchase setup in my app. I confirmed that I have a correct set of product identifiers, matched by corresponding in-app purchase items in itunesconnect. The call goes out to Apple view [productRequest start], but I never get a response back, despite setting the delegate to myself. What am I missing?   • is there a way using Ruby's net/http to post form data to an http proxy?

    I have a basic Squid server setup and I am trying to use Ruby's Net::HTTP::Proxy class to send a POST of form data to a specified HTTP endpoint. I assumed I could do the following: Net::HTTP::Proxy(my_host, my_port).start(url.host) do |h| req = Net::HTTP::Post.new(url.path) req.form_data = { "xml" => xml } h.request(req) end But, alas, proxy vs. non-proxied Net::HTTP classes don't seem to use the proxy IP Address. my remote service responds telling me that it received a request from the wrong IP address, ie: not the proxy. I am looking for a specific way to write the procedure, so that I can successfully send a form post via a proxy. Help? :)

    As you may know we have got a new ActionResult called FileResult in RC1 version of ASP.NET MVC. Using that, your action methods can return image to browser dynamically. Something like this: public ActionResult DisplayPhoto(int id) { Photo photo = GetPhotoFromDatabase(id); return File(photo.Content, photo.ContentType); } In the HTML code, we can use something like this: <img src="http://mysite.com/controller/DisplayPhoto/657"> Since the image is returned dynamically, we need a way to cache the returned stream so that we don't need to read the image again from database. I guess we can do it with something like this, I'm not sure: Response.StatusCode = 304; This tells the browser that you already have the image in your cache. I just don't know what to return in my action method after setting StatusCode to 304. Should I return null or something?

I tried implementing my pages' custom error messages using his method, yet there are some problems I can't quite explain. a) When I provoke a 404 Error by entering in invalid URL such as localhost:3001/NonexistantPage, it defaults to the ServerError() Action of my error controller even though it should go to NotFound(). Thanks! *EDIT : * I can directly navigate to my views through the ErrorController by accessing /Error/NotFound or Error/ServerError. The views themselves only contain some text, no markup or anything. As I said, it actually works in some way, just not the way I intended it to work. There seems to be an issue with the redirect in the web.config, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Basically I want my rest client to know that there is some error on the backend and along with it send a JSON error data structure like this. {"error" : [ {"code": "1001", "desc": "Some error description"}, {"code": "1002", "desc": "Some other error description"} ] } This is using the following java stack = Java 6/JAX-RS/Jersey/Tomcat If not, then is there a way to send a custom response code along with JSON data. Basically looking from JAX-RS API it looks that you can only send JSON data along with 200 OK?? Any thoughts?? I am guessing RESTEasy would be the same, right??

Also like to mention that User have a field "Websites they Like" where they enter websites of their interest. So if they like stackoverflow, they may end up writing www.stackoverflow.com which will be considered a relative link without http. Also my requirments are such that i cant prompt user to enter http or https before there urls

    I have a website which is fully running on Https. For some reason i did get the task to find a way to convert a url for example: http://www.domain.com/a/e-nc/youless to a https version of it, without losing HTTP POST header such as the POST values which are in it. So i thought (not even sure) let's try to make a reversed proxy in apache and see how that works. Anyway after a lot of struggling i came to the point to ask it here. So to be speicific my goal is: Convert the http://www.domain.com/a/e-nc/youless to https://www.domain.com/a/e-nc/youless without losing the POST conditions.   • JQuery.ajax success function returns empty

    I have a very basic AJAX function in JQuery: $.ajax({ url: "http://www.google.com", dataType: "html", success: function(data) { alert(data); } }); But the data is always an empty string, no matter what url I go to... Why is that? I am running this locally at http://localhost:3000, and am using JQuery 1.4.2. If I make a local response, however, like this: $.ajax({ url: "http://localhost:3000/test", dataType: "html", success: function(data) { alert(data); } }); ...it returns the html page at that address. What am I missing here?

    I have a somehow complicated problem I am trying to solve. I've used the following .htaccess directive to enable some sort of Pretty URLs, and that worked fine. For example, http://myurl.com/shop would be redirected to http://myurl.com/index.php/shop, and that was well working (note that stuff such as myurl.com/css/mycss.css) does not get redirected: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond ${REQUEST_URI} !^(index\.php$) RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^/?(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] But now, as I have introduced SSL to my webpage, I want the following behaviour: I basically want the above behaviour for all pages except admin.php and login.php. Requests to those two pages should be redirected to the HTTPS part, whereas all other requests should be processed as specified above. I have come up with the following .htaccess, but it does not work. h*tps://myurl.com/shop does not get redirected to h*tp://myurl.com/index.php/shop, and h*tp://myurl.com/admin.php does not get redirected to h*tps://myurl.com/admin.php.     I have multiple notes with class=.note and unique id each inside a div. On click of edit I grab the id, show hidden form #noteditor and hide all notes. I am using the load function to get the response (using codeigniter so url does work) and input result in the editorfrorm Textarea id = upnote... Firebug response looks ok and I have tried to inject into a div and this works fine, BUT getting this injto the text area is causing me some headaches. There is also the chance that i am going around this a convoluted way due to my limited knowledge...     I took Jeff's Re-write rules from this post and the HTTP to HTTPS conversion works great. However, going back to HTTP is giving me problems because of the ReturnUrl= in the URL (I'm using webforms).   • Windows Phone 7 HttpRequest Unable to see true Error Code and response details

    I have to call a somewhat broken API from a Windows Phone 7 application. The API returns a 302 error and a cookie to the authentication request. I've tried every way I've been able to find in the MSDN documentation for using ClientHTTP instead of BrowserHTTP (registering the prefix, using the call to explicitly create a ClientHTTP using Request), but the 302 is getting translated to a 404 and I'm not seeing the cookies on the response. I've tried a WebClient, I've tried an HttpRequest and it is always the translated error message. If I allocate a CookieContainer for the HttpRequest, I get a null argument exception when the client stack is parsing the returned message. I can see that the response is coming back as expected via Fiddler.

    For instance, what I have right now is the following: Page.Response.Redirect("Default.aspx", false); Needing to hardcode the string just seems odd to me. The Default.aspx page is already in my project. So is there a way to do the redirect something like the following: Page.Response.Redirect(Default.aspx, false); Where Default.aspx is just the web form. I'd think that this way it would be obvious if there was a problem such as you deleted the web form but didn't update the redirects. Is this possible? Or is there another way entirely I should be looking at this? I suppose I could do something with a static property on the class, but I am wondering if there is a built in thing for this?

    Hello. I've generated the web service client in eclipse for the OpenCalais WSDL using the "develop" client type. Actually I was following this post so not really going in detail. Now when I get the results this way: new CalaisLocator().getcalaisSoap().enlighten(key, content, requestParams);, I get the String object, containing the response XML. Sure it's possible to parse that XML, but I think there must be some way to do it automatically, e.g. getting the response object in the form of some list whatsoever?

  • Tool for response time analysis on JBoss server?

    I am running a pretty high traffic cluster of JBoss servers serving REST requests and I am interested in tools reading the access logs in Tomcat format (with %D parameter) to provide a detailed analysis of the response time on a per-call basis. Ideally this tool would generate a chart showing the progression of the response time throughout the day, hour per hour, then a weekly view with averages on the day, and monthly with average on the weeks (CACTI style). I've looked for such tools and couldn't find anything. Is any of you guys aware of something close to that before I start writing my own? I haven't looked into CACTI extensions yet, but that be an option?
