I'm authenticating via PHP:
// the php facebook api downloaded at step 3
require_once("facebook-client/facebook.php");
// start facebook api with the codes defined in step 1.
$fb=new Facebook( 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX' , 'a3eaa49141ed38e230240e1b6368254a' );
$fb_user=$fb->get_loggedin_user();
var_dump($fb_user);
And the session is created in PHP. I want to use hte facebook javascript client library from here on out. How do I do this?
Hello,
Are there any equivalent Javascript functions for Python's urllib.quote() and urllib.unquote()?
The closest I've come across are escape(), encodeURI(), and encodeURIComponent() (and their corresponding un-encoding functions), but they don't encode/decode the same set of special characters as far as I can tell.
Thanks,
Cameron
Is it possible to trigger for example flash uploading button via javascript?
For example I have made empty image wrappers and by clicking on them, they trigger flash button to open as select window.
Thanks!
I have a window.open call in a page, whose window itself is opened by a window.open call.
So there are 2 windows already on the screen
Now On the next window.open call:
IE7 opens a new window
Firefox opens a new tab in the topmost parent window
Chrome opens a new tab in current window
Is it possible to make this behaviour same in all three browsers. (preferably like #3)
Edit :
my call is rly simple
javascript:window.open("Attachment.aspx?docid=42")
What's the best way of checking if an object property in JavaScript is undefined?
Sorry, I initially said variable rather than object property. I believe the same == undefined approach doesn't work there.

Microsoft have published Reactive Extensions for Javascript.
It should make asynchronous (and event based) web-ui programming easy.
There are currently a video and some tutorials.
But how cool UI could I really make? Do you know any good demos or code examples using rx.js?
I have trouble with changing round bracket tag in Javascript. I try to do this:
var K = 1;
var Text = "This a value for letter K: {ValueOfLetterK}";
Text = Text.replace("{ValueOfLetterK}", K);
and after that I get:
Text = "This a value for letter K: {ValueOfLetterK}"
What can be done to make this work? When I remove round brackets it works fine.
I'm looking for a javascript library that will let me store data in a client side database and in the back ground automatically sync the database back to the server's database
preferable something that supports a variaty of engines in the same way jStore for jQuery does

How would I work out the difference for two Date() objects in JavaScript, while only return the number of months in the difference?

i need to fetch a url with javascript/jquery and not php.
i've read that you could do that if you got a php proxy, but that means that it is still going through php. cause then it's still the ip of the server that is fetching it.
could one fetch the url entirely with only front-end, and thus fetch it with the client's ip?
This is probably a nub question, but I don't understand why this works:
<script type="text/javascript">
alert(foo);
function foo() { }
</script>
This alerts "function foo() { }", but I expected the alert to be evaluated before the function foo was defined. Can someone explain what I don't understand about parse/evaluation order or point me to a resource that does?
Thanks in advance,

I need to be able to reset an input field back to its original color after it has been possibly changed via javascript to a different value. The problem is I do not want to hard code the value obviously in case the stylesheet changes. I would like to use the default color used on the page.
Is resetting the color like this fine, or is there a better way to do this?
$('#theinput').css('color', '');
I've been doing a little JavaScript (well, more like jQuery) for a while now and one thing I've always been confused about is where I should put my scripts, in the <head> tag or in the <body> tag.
If anyone could clarify this issue, that'd be great. An example of what should go where would be perfect.

What is the best way to perform client-side form validation using Javascript (with minimal code duplication) when using JSR 303 bean validation on the server side? I'm currently using Spring 3 and the Hibernate Validator.
