• Problems with PHP System_Daemon and IMAP connection.

  I'm trying to create a PHP daemon that connects to an IMAP server and processes emails as they come in. I have it close to working, but the daemon keeps grabbing the original emails that it finds the first time the daemon is loaded. I believe the reason is because I'm opening the IMAP connection in the parent process. • Why does PHP overwrite values when I iterate through this array twice (by reference, by value)

  If I iterate through an array twice, once by reference and then by value, PHP will overwrite the last value in the array if I use the same variable name for each loop. This is best illustrated through an example: $array = range(1,5); foreach($array as &$element) { $element *= 2; } print_r($array); foreach($array as $element) { } print_r($array); Output: Array ( [0] = 2 [1] = 4 [2] = 6 [3] = 8 [4] = 10 ) Array ( [0] = 2 [1] = 4 [2] = 6 [3] = 8 [4] = 8 ) Note that I am not looking for a fix, I am looking to understand why this is happening. Also note that it does not happen if the variable names in each loop are not each called $element, so I'm guessing it has to do with $element still being in scope and a reference after the end of the first loop.

  I have some class C: class C (...) { ... } I want to use it to index an efficient map. The most efficient map is an Array. So I add a "global" "static" counter in companion object to give each object unique id: object C { var id_counter = 0 } In primary constructor of C, with each creation of C I want to remember global counter value and increase it. Question 1: How to do it? Now I can use id in C objects as perfect hash to index array. But array does not preserve type information like map would, that a given array is indexed by C's id. Question 2: Is it possible to have it with type safety?

• Basic PHP question for Drupal Views theming

  My PHP and programming knowledge is extremely basic, so this is probably a dumb question: I am theming a View in Drupal 6, and I want to add an id with a consecutive number to each item in the view (first item would have the id #item1, the second #item2, etc). I am customizing the style output (views-view-unformatted--MYVIEWNAME.tpl.php) and the row style output (views-view-fields--MYVIEWNAME.tpl.php), and I want to add a counter variable in the foreach loop in the style output tpl, and then use that variable in the row style output tpl, but the last one is not recognizing the variable. It does not give me any errors, but doesnt print the number. I understand this has probably something to do with variables visibility, how can I declare the counter variable in the style .tpl so I can the use it in the row style .tpl? Thank you

  hi all, i need to clone an entire treeview to implement Undo\Redo actions. i try in different ways but it appears that directly isn't possible. I mean copying the entire treeview, save that copy in a list. Then when the Undo action is requested decrement a specific counter of levels of undo and replace the actual treeview with the treeview that exist in the index positions of the list. if I do redo the same happens but lvls is incremented so i recover what come next. Every time that a modifications occurs in the treeview i need to save that copy and increment the lvl counter

  I am making an application in C# which uses a winform as the GUI and a separate thread which is running in the background automatically changing things. Ex: public void run() { while(true) { printMessageOnGui("Hey"); Thread.Sleep(2000); . . } } How would I make it pause anywhere in the loop, because one iteration of the loop takes around 30 seconds.   Hey all, I've got an HTML5 video on a page. When tested locally, Chrome, Safari, and Opera work beautifully. Firefox plays it, but doesn't loop as efficiently as the others. The real problem is when it's tested off a server. Firefox doesn't play the video, but recognizes there is one there. I was wondering if all that open ended three-different-ways syntax can be swung in Firefox's favor. Thanks! • PHP Possible Memory Leak

  I have a script that loops through a database for images to convert with gd & imagick. I unset or replace all variables and objects in between each loop. For each loop, get_memory_usage(1) reveals a concurrent amount of memory used by that script. Which is expected. But, when I run "top", the %MEM column reports that this script, (same PID), increments with several percentages for each loop. I destroy all images when I'm done with them, and when I run get_defined_vars(); only the standard globals and a few variables I have is set. Why is "top" % Memory Usage different than what PHP reports? After 10 loops, PHP has taken 20% percetage of the system memory. I run php 5.2.6 on Debian 5

  Hello, I recently heard of the jQuery datalink plugin and wondered if I should be using if for the following: I have a an inbox in my app that consists of the following: Inbox (index) - List of Items (list of mails) Inbox (show) Item Viewer (1 mail) Inbox Unread Counter The challenge I'm having now is a user can mark a mail as read/unread in either view which makes keeping the counter accurate challenging. Can datalink help with this? If so how? Also, I read that datalink requires forms is that true? Or can I bind the links to anything like 0 and anytime a mailitem changes from read to unread it would automatically update? Thanks

• Catching KeyboardInterrupt when working with PyGame

  I have written a small Python application where I use PyGame for displaying some simple graphics. I have a somewhat simple PyGame loop going in the base of my application, like so: stopEvent = Event() # Just imagine that this eventually sets the stopEvent # as soon as the program is finished with its task. disp = SortDisplay(algorithm, stopEvent) def update(): """ Update loop; updates the screen every few seconds. The trouble I'm having is, if I Ctrl-C in the Python console, the application throws a KeyboardInterrupt, but keeps on running. The question would therefore be: What have I done wrong in my update loop, and how do I rectify it so a KeyboardInterrupt causes the application to terminate?

(Persian digits uni06F0..uni06F9). the number of visitors is generated by blog service. and I want to convert its digits to Arabic.
