• Reasons to store users' data in LDAP instead of RDBMS

  It is often said that using LDAP is a good way to store data about users. That's beacause users' "directory" is hierarchical and it changes rarely. But in my opinion that doesn't exclude using RDBMS. What might be reasons to use LDAP? I guess that storing multi-valued fields or adding custom fields in LDAP might be easier but it can be done in database too (unless you have many records)

• Is author name in SVN changelog reliable for tracking authorship?

  In multi-user environment it's sometimes very useful to know the real author of each changeset in the SVN repository. I see there's "Edit author" in Tortoise SVN. Does this mean that anyone can do whatever and then just change the author name on that changeset so that the change is attributed to another user? Can a real changeset author be identified?

  I'm writing a C++ app. I have a class variable that more than one thread is writing to. In C++, anything that can be modified without the compiler "realizing" that it's being changed needs to be marked volatile right? So if my code is multi threaded, and one thread may write to a var while another reads from it, do I need to mark the var volaltile? [I don't have a race condition since I'm relying on writes to ints being atomic] Thanks!

This form just includes text fields. I guess the options are UITextFields, or perhaps a UIWebView, with the fields as part of an html form?   I tried to edit a service file in /etc/systemd/system/aria2.service [Unit] Description=start aria2 Wants=network.target Before=network.target [Service] Type=oneshot ExecStart=/usr/bin/aria2c --enable-rpc --rpc-listen-all=true --rpc-allow-origin-all -c -D [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target Then run "systemctl enable aria2" & "systemctl start" and there is no error. But I can't grep 'aria2c' in process list after reboot. Who can give me a sample service file for it? Thanks
