• SQL server deadlock between INSERT and SELECT statement

  Hi! I've got a problem with multiple deadlocks on SQL server 2005. This one is between an INSERT and a SELECT statement. There are two tables. Table 1 and Table2. Table2 has Table1's PK (table1_id) as foreign key. Index on table1_id is clustered. The INSERT inserts a single row into table2 at a time. The SELCET joins the 2 tables. (it's a long query which might take up to 12 secs to run) According to my understanding (and experiments) the INSERT should acquire an IS lock on table1 to check referential integrity (which should not cause a deadlock). • Select Multiple Images Using GalleryView

  Hi guys, I was just wondering if Android had built in code so that I could select multiple images in a gallery-view and then have those images exported as filenames in a string array(ex /sdcard/~f1.jpg, /sdcard/~f2.jpg,...). I have the gallery code here, but I'm not sure what modifications need to be made. Any help is appreciated. • Jquery / PhP / Joomla Select one of two comboboxes does not get updated

  I am making a Joomla component wich has 3 comboboxes/selects on the page. One with languages and 2 with subjects. If you change the language the other two get filled with the same data (the subjects in the selected language) the name of the selectbox are different but otherwise the same. I get an error for one of the subject boxes (hence the url gets red), but there is no logic in wich one will give an error. In Firebug i get the HTML back for the one without the other and this one gets updated but the other one gives nothing back. If i right click in firebug on the one that gave the error, and do "send again" it will load fine. Is their a timing problem? I use a function for this that is okay because it makes al my selectboxes. The only place where there are problems with select boxes is on the pages that has 2 selects that need to change when a third one changed. My guess it is somewhere in the Jquery where this goes wrong. And i think it has to do with timing. But i am open for all sugestions. Thanx. UPDATE: No the ID and Name fields are different.   I have the following domain set up for persistence with NHibernate: I am using the PaperConfiguration as the root aggregate. I want to select all PaperConfiguration objects for a given Tier and AcademicYearConfiguration. This works really well as per the following example: ICriteria criteria = session.CreateCriteria<PaperConfiguration>() .Add(Restrictions.Eq("AcademicYearConfiguration", configuration)) .CreateCriteria("Paper") .CreateCriteria("Unit") .CreateCriteria("Tier") .Add(Restrictions.Eq("Id", tier.Id)) return criteria.List<PaperConfiguration>(); (Perhaps there is a better way of doing this though). Yet also need to know how many ReferenceMaterials there are for each PaperConfiguration and I would like to get it in the same call. Avoid HQL - I already have an HQL solution for it. I know this is what projections are for and this question suggests an idea but I can't get it to work. • Select image iphone simulator using phonegap camera api

  I'm new to Xcode and iPhone apps. I want to select an image from iPhone (camera or library) and send to php via ajax. http://wiki.phonegap.com/iPhone:-Camera-API I'm using the phonegap framework, Xcode iPhone SDK version 3.1.x. On clicking button it calls function with parameter 0 or 1, but it does not initialize camera or display the library. I used the same code as in the above link. it shows this error in debug console: 2010-03-25 23:36:02.337 PhoneGap[7433:207] Camera.getPicture: Camera not available. simulator dsnt have camera, but photos(from library) also not wokring! what might be the error? i think when using navigator.camera.getPicture first check for camera and if not break and shws error ~?

  I have the following array value $outData with several columns.   Hi There, I have a form that shows results from a database query, these results can have many other assets ajoined to them and I wanting to find a way of showing how many assets each elemement has. For example my table is of areas of england an other table has where the users live I current have this code, $this->db->select('*'); $this->db->from('places'); $this->db->join('users, places.place_id = user.place_id, left'); $this->db->get(); The issue I am having is getting the query to return the place name and the number of users living in that place, it is possible?

Is it possbile to do the same using IEnumerable<T>.Select(Func<T>) ?

• mySQL: Select WHERE causes error - why?

  Hi everybody, I have this query: SELECT `manufacturers`.*, `languages`.*, COUNT(`products`.`id`) AS productcount FROM (`manufacturers`) WHERE manufacturers.flushed = 0 JOIN `languages` ON `manufacturers`.`lang` = `languages`.`id` LEFT OUTER JOIN `products` ON `products`.`manuf` = `manufacturers`.`mid` GROUP BY manufacturers.id ORDER BY `languages`.`id` asc, `manufacturers`.`mid` asc; Without the WHERE row, everything works great, but with it, I get a Error 1064 (Syntax error) thrown in my face. I guess that it has something to do with the actual placement of the WHERE row in the query, so I tried to move it around, but without any luck. What can I do?

• Select a subset of foreign key elements in inlineformset_factory in Django

  Hello, I have a model with two foreign keys: class Model1(models.Model): model_a = models.ForeignKey(ModelA) model_b = models.ForeignKey(ModelB) value = models.IntegerField() Then, I create an inline formset class, like so: an_inline_formset = inlineformset_factory(ModelA, Model1, fk_name="model_a") and then instantiate it, like so: a_formset = an_inline_formset(request.POST, instance=model_A_object) Once this formset gets rendered in a template/page, there is ChoiceField associated with the model_b field. The problem I'm having is that the elements in the resulting drop down menu include all of the elements found in ModelB table. I need to select a subset of those based on some criteria from ModelB. At the same time, I need to keep the reference to the instance of model_A_object when instantiating inlineformset_factory and, therefore, I can't just use this example. Any suggestions?

• SQL SELECT: "Give me all documents where all of the documents procedures are 'work in progress'"

  This one really has me stumped. I have a documents table which hold info about the documents, and a procedures table, which is kind of like a revisions table for each document. What I need to do is write a select statement which gives me all of the documents where all of the procedures have the status "work_in_progress". Here's an example procedures table: document_id | status 1 | 'wip' 1 | 'wip' 1 | 'wip' 1 | 'approved' 2 | 'wip' 2 | 'wip' 2 | 'wip' Here, I would want my query to only return document id 2, because all of its statuses are work_in_progress. I DO NOT want document_id 1 since one of its statuses is 'approved'. I believe this is relational division I want, but I'm not sure where to start. This is MySQL 5.0 FYI.

  I have an XML document which looks something like this: <meadinkent> <record> <comp_div>MENSWEAR</comp_div> <sty_ret_type>ACCESSORIES</sty_ret_type> <sty_pdt_type>BELTS</sty_pdt_type> <pdt_category>AWESOME_BELTS</pdt_category> </record> <medinkent> I want to useXPath to select nodes which match all four elements and I'm having trouble getting the boolean syntax right. I'm trying this to match the first two just as a test: "/meadinkent/record/comp_div[.='" & comp_div & "'] and /meadinkent/record/sty_ret_type[.='" & sty_ret_type & "']" Which is failing, saying no nodes are returned. • Returning Index in Enumerable Select

  I have a List<MyClass> with 2 items which have a SequenceNumber property. If I use this code below the returned index is 0 not 1: var test = TrackingCollection .Where(x => x.SequenceNumber == 2) .Select((item, index) => new { index, item.SequenceNumber }); Is this because that refers to 0 as the index in my new anonymous type or is it some zero index based weirdness that I just need to increment. What I'm after is to return the index in TrackingCollection where the sequence number is 2 or 887 or any other correct index in the original collection...

• problem with Chrome form handling: input onfocus="this.select()"

  I'm using the following HTML code to autoselect some text in a form field when a user clicks on the field: input onfocus="this.select()" type="text" value="Search" This works fine in Firefox and Internet Explorer (the purpose being to use the default text to describe the field to the user, but highlight it so that on click they can just start typing), but I'm having trouble getting it to work in Chrome. When I click the form field in Chrome the text is highlighted for just a split second and then the cursor jumps to the end of the default text and the highlighting goes away. Any ideas on how to get this working in Chrome as well?

  Consider the following table: Orders OrderId Date CustomerId 1000 2012-06-05 20:03:12.000 51 1001 2012-06-16 12:02:31.170 48 1002 2012-06-18 19:45:16.000 33 When I extract the Order data using FOR XML: SELECT OrderId AS 'Order/@Order-Id', Date AS 'Order/ShipDate', CustomerId AS 'Order/Customer' FROM Orders WHERE OrderId = 1000 FOR XML PATH ('') I get the following result: <Order Order-Id="1000"> <ShipDate>2010-02-20T16:03:12</ShipDate> <Customer>51</Customer> </Order> The problem is, the ShipDate value in the XML file needs to be in the format M/DD/YYYY H:mm:ss PM. How can I change the output of the ShipDate in the XML file to the desired format? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• select time (HH:MM:SS.mmm) in javascript

  I would like the user to select the time in javascript and to avoid selecting the wrong time. How should i do it? Is there some kind of javascript or jquery widget? or should i show the format and allow users to write it in (and i guess check it with regex)? i think these should be valid 1 (1s) 1:5 (1m 5s) 1.5 (1s, 500 milliseconds. not to be confused by the above) 1:2:02 (1h, 2m, 2 seconds) 1:2:2 (1h, 2m, 2 seconds) 1:2:20 (1h, 2m, 20 seconds) I dont want the user to be confused. How can i avoid this?
