  • Looking for: C/C++ Regex library that supports Named Captures

    I'm thinking about writing a small application that will help me mass rename files. I currently use an application named 'RegexRenamer', which (I'm assuming) uses the .NET regex engine. The application is fine, but is sort of clunky. So what I'm looking for is a C/C++ regex library that I can build my custom program off of. Anything that is small and lightweight is preferred (.Net seems heavy). Thanks.

  • Using Entity Framework (code first) migrations in production

    I'm just looking into using EF migrations for our project, and in particular for performing schema changes in production between releases. I can see that generating SQL (delta) script files is an option, but is there no way of running the migrations programmatically on app start up? Will I instead need to add each delta script to the solution and write my own framework to apply them in order (from the current version to the latest) on bootstrap?

  • A continued saga of C# interoprability with unmanaged C++

    After a day of banging my head against the wall both literally and metaphorically, I plead for help: I have an unmanaged C++ project, which is compiled as a DLL. Let's call it CPP Project. It currently works in an unmanaged environment. In addition, I have created a WPF project, that shall be called WPF Project. This project is a simple and currently almost empty project. It contains a single window and I want it to use code from Project 1. For that, I have created a CLR C++ project, which shall be called Interop Project and is also compiled as a DLL. For simplicity I will attach some basic testing code I have boiled down to the basics. CPP Project has the following two testing files: tester.h #pragma once extern "C" class __declspec(dllexport) NativeTester { public: void NativeTest(); }; tester.cpp #include "tester.h" void NativeTester::NativeTest() { int i = 0; } Interop Project has the following file: InteropLib.h #pragma once #include <tester.h> using namespace System; namespace InteropLib { public ref class InteropProject { public: static void Test() { NativeTester nativeTester; nativeTester.NativeTest(); } }; } Lastly, WPF Project has a single window refrencing Interop Project: MainWindow.xaml.cs using System; using System.Windows; using InteropLib; namespace AppGUI { public partial class MainWindow : Window { public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); InteropProject.Test(); } } } And the XAML itself has an empty window (default created). Once I am trying to run the WPF project, I get the following error: System.Windows.Markup.XamlParseException: 'The invocation of the constructor on type 'AppGUI.MainWindow' that matches the specified binding constraints threw an exception.' Line number '3' and line position '9'. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'InteropLib.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found. at AppGUI.MainWindow..ctor() Interestingly enough, if I do not export the class from CPP Project, I do not get this error. Say, if i change tester.h to: #pragma once class NativeTester { public: void NativeTest() { int i = 0; } }; However, in this case I cannot use my more complex classes. If I move my implementation to a cpp file like before, I get unresolved linkage errors due to my not exporting my code. The C++ code I want to actually use is large and has many classes and is object oriented, so I can't just move all my implementation to the h files. Please help me understand this horrific error I've been trying resolve without success. Thanks.

    Hello I used the command "net user" to add a new admin user to windows like that: net user myuser11 myuser11 /add net localgroup Administrators myuser11 /add the problem that after restart windows I only see the icon of the "myuser" and the default windows "Administrator" login icon disappeared !! the "Administrator" files still exists and I can login as "Administrator" after ctrl+alt+del but I need of course to display the "Administrator" icon in welcome screen how I fix that ? I use windows xp sp3 thanks

    I'm using glob function for a autocompletion function. I'm showing you the problem because it's difficult to explain: matched = ~/.tcsh glob(matched, 0, NULL, &pglob); glob put all matched files in a char ** and when I print it I have: case[0] = .tcshrc case[1] = I should have .tcshrc~ in case[1], but nothing =S, I've seen a flag "GLOB_TILDE" like this " glob(matched, GLOB_TILDE, NULL, &pglob); But it doesn't change anything! Can someone help me?

  • SubSonic error: db.tables with a ~ in the name result in a "Character is not valid" error

    I renamed a database table and added a ~ character to the table name (my way of notifying it is a backup of something). After generating the SubSonic files, my Visual Studio gives a "Character not valid" error on file "AllStructs.vb" When looking into this file the following line of code was generated; Public Shared ReadOnly DbTable1~old As String = "dbtable1~old". I assume this character has to be filtered out of the db.table names when generating the SubSonic names?

  • SaveFileDialog problem (C#) (VS2008)

    Hi all, I am having an issue with SaveFileDialog for some reason. All I want to do is extract data from a text box line by line and write it to a text file, then save that text file to the desktop. The first bit of code works fine (though it doesn't save to the desktop). The second bit of code is what I want to use, but when it creates the text file the text file is empty. What did I do wrong in my second bit of code?   • A shortest path problem with superheroes and intergalactic journeys

    You are a super-hero in the year 2222 and you are faced with this great challenge: starting from your home planet Ilop you must try to reach Acinhet or else your planet will be destroyed by evil green little monsters. To do this you are given a map of the universe: there are N planets and M inter-planetary connections ( bidirectional ) that bind these planets. Each connection requires a certain time and a certain amount of fuel in order for you to cover the connection from one planet to another. The total time spent going from one planet to another is obtained by multiplying the time past to cover each connection between all the planets you go through. There are some "key planets", that allow you to refuel if you arrive on those certain "key planets". A "key planet" is the planet with the property that if it disappears the road between at least two planets would be lost.(In the example posted below with the input/output files such a "key planet" is 2 because without it the road to 7 would be lost) When you start your mission you are given the possibility of choosing between K ships each with its own maximum fuel capacity. The goal is to find the SHORTEST TIME CONSUMING path but also choose the ship with the minimum fuel capacity that can cover that shortest path(this means that if more ships can cover the shortest path you choose the one with the minimum fuel capacity). Because the minimum time can be a rather large number (over long long int) you are asked to provide only the last 6 digits of the number. For a better understanding of the task, here is an example of input/output files: INPUT: mission.in 7 8 6 1 4 6 5 9 8 7 10 1 2 7 8 1 4 14 9 1 5 3 1 2 3 1 2 2 7 7 1 3 4 2 2 4 6 4 1 5 6 3 7 On the first line (in order): N M K On the second line :the number for the starting planet and the finishing planet On the third line :K numbers that represent the capacities of the ships you can choose from Then you have M lines, all of them have the same structure: Xi Yi Ti Fi-which means that there is a connection between Xi and Yi and you can cover the distance from Xi to Yi in Ti time and with a Fi fuel consumption.   • Can I use MSBUILD to investigate which dependency causes a source unit to be recompiled?

    I have a legacy C++ application with a deep graph of #includes. Changes to any header file often cause recompiles of seemingly unrelated source files. The application is built using a Visual Studio 2005 solution (sln) file. Can MSBUILD be invoked in a way that it reports which dependency(ies) are causing a source file to be recompiled? Is there any other tool that might be able to help?

    I am receiving the error noted below. I have built/rebuilt the files sevaral time. I have alson renamed the file the file in the *.exe The NetworkAssociation.exe file is in the debug folder. Any help would be wonderful Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debub target 'c:\NetworkAssociation\NetworkAssociation\Bin\Debug\NetworkAssociation.exe' is missing. Please build the project and retry, or set the OutputPath and AssemblyName properties appropriately to point at the correct location.

    I seem to see such errors quite often in our SVN 1.6 repo. We got these quite a lot while we used to just work on /trunk so I don't think it's due to merge/branching confusion. It seems that a cleup and marking the conflict resolved always works, but it's a little concerning to see errors in your version control system when you're just adding/updating/deleting files. What causes it?

    I am creating a secure document portal for a client. One of the things that they are worried about is having someone upload a document with a virus. One solution that might work is to enforce that they only upload pdf files. My question is two fold: Most importantly, is a pdf document virus proof? How can you determine in a *nix environment that a file is a pdf, besides just looking at the extension. Thanks! Jonathan
