• SSIS script task pre-compile script into binary code set to false

  If I set pre-compile script into binary code to true I get error saying "The task is configured to pre-compile the script, but binary code is not found." If I set this property to False then it works. Will it be a problem after I deploy package on production server? Please advice.

• Run SSIS package from SQL client

  I deployed my working package on server which is enterprise edition, SSIS installed on it. When I tries to run package by connecting to integration services engine from my desktop SQL client (which doesn't have SSIS installed) I get error "The task "Send Mail Task" cannot run on this edition of Integration Services. It requires a higher level edition." Does it mean that I need to login to the server (RDP) and then run the package? Also, when I schedule the package thru SQL agent it fails saying login time out but my windos auth login works for everything from connecting, deployment. Any clue?

• SSIS flat file insertion failure to rollback

  I have simple SSIS package which reads data from flat file and insert into SQL database. The file has 90K rows and sometimes because of bad data package fails but it insert the partial records before it fails. What I need is if insertion fails at any time between, no records should be inserted into DB, rollback everything. how can I put it in transaction?

• SSIS pckage run from file system

  Initially I deployed packages on SQL server but since my machine is not having SSIS installed I faced issue of version while executing the packages. Then I deployed packages to file system on server which has SQL server enterprise edition with SSIS installed on it. I access the folder on server where I have deployed packages from my system and execute the package but I get error saying "cannot run on this edition of integration services, need higher version." Do I need to rmote login (RDP) to execute package?

• sqL table is sorted by default

  I have simple SSIS package where I import data from flat file into sql table(MS sql 2005). File contains 70k rows and table has no primary key. Importing is sucessful but when I open sql table the order of rwos is different from the that of file. After observing closely I see that data in table is sorted by default by first column. Why this is happening? and how I can avoid default sort? Thanks.

  Is there anything similar to global variable in SSIS? I have 4 variables (FromAddress, ToAddress,...) which will be used in all packages (32). So if I can set them only once it will be very easy to use in all packages and will save my time. Please advise.

  I have simple package which reads data from csv file and loads into SQL table. File is located on another server and it is shared. I use UNC path in package. package is scheduled using sql agent job. Job worked fine for 1 week and suddenly started giving error "The file name "\\124.0.48.173\basel2\Commercial\Input\ACBS_GSU.csv" specified in the connection was not valid.   I know configuring the logging for individual packages thru BIDS. But the drawback I see here is I have to add connectionstring for each tasks and when I have to deplloy these packages on server I have to change log file connectionstring for all packages. Currently I have 32 pacakes and this seems to be time consuming. Is there any way where I can set up logging for all packages in one place?

• Can not connect to SSIS access denied

  I am facing an issue while connecting to SSIS thru Mangament studio. I'm able to connect to SQL engine, Analysis services but not able to connect to SSIS. I use windows authentication. I tried steps given at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337083(SQL.90).aspx but no help. On one of the forum I saw that one needs to restart the MSDTC service, Do I need to do that? bcoz my SQL admin said I need to justify it by assuring that it doesn't affect aything else. Moreover we didn't find way to restart the service, where I can do that? please help. Thanks.
