  • HIMSS 2011 and New Press Release

    - by chris.kawalek(at)oracle.com
We're here at HIMSS 2011 in booth 1651. If you're at the show, tomorrow (Wednesday) is the final day for the exhibits, so come over and see all of the Oracle demos displayed on Sun Ray Clients. It's extremely cool! Also, we did a press release here at the show about caregiver mobility with Wolf Medical Software. Have a read here. Wolf Medical Software did a press release themselves, too. You can read their press release here.

  • Oracle Desktop Virtualization Press Release

    - by [email protected]
Even though Oracle has introduced new products (HW and SW) and pricing, and part numbers, modified licensing, and an EVP and an SVP have discussed openly where Oracle is going with Virtualization,  you may still have heard from "the other guys' that Oracle isn't going to be keeping the legacy Sun 'Desktop' portfolio.  I think that has soundly been addressed by the press release this morning.  Click here for the release. This is a great way to kick off Oracle's New (fiscal) Year.  As there are more announcements coming - I'll just say "Enjoy!, and "Stay Tuned".

  • Simulating Key Press event using Python for Linux

    - by user308827
Hi, I am writing a script to automate running a particular model. When the model fails, it waits for a user input (Enter key). I can detect when the model has failed, but I am not able to use python (on linux) to simulate a key press event. Windows has the SendKeys library to do this but I was wondering if there is a similar library for python on linux. Thanks!

  • While Mouse press event. Prototype JS or Javascript

    - by nahum
Hi, I would like to know if someone knows how to make a function repeat over and over while the mouse is press, I don't know how to make it work. I know in prototype you can take events like $('id').observe("click",function(event){}) $('id').observe("leave",function(event){}) $('id').observe("change",function(event){}) //etc... but is something like $('id').observe("whilemousepress",function(event){}) :P //I know there is not any event in javascript but I would like to emulate. thanks...

  • table row long press

    - by adoo42
I have a table which is built dynamically based on how much data is present, if at all. I want to be able to long press anywhere on a the table row to be able to get some options to delete or edit etc. Is this possible? Remember I need to do all this without setting any XML as its dynamically built. Is this relevant to what I want to achieve? ` @override public boolean onKeyLongPress(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { if (keyCode == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_BACK) { // do your stuff here return true; } return super.onKeyLongPress(keyCode, event); } ` any advice is appreciated.

  • Keyboard-shortcut key-press-detection sensitivity settings

    - by Juve
last week I switched from Ubuntu 10.10 to 12.04 and after setting up my keyboard shortcuts, e.g., CTRL+ALT+E for my favorite editor and CTRL+ALT+X for the terminal, I noticed that the behavior when pressing the appropriate keys changed somehow. I know this is very subjective and I am not 100% percent sure if I am suddenly just too lazy when using my keyboard, but here is what I noticed: To run your shortcuts, you usually press the modifiers first and in addition press the alphanum key. Now, if I hold the modifiers down very consciously and press the alphanum key afterwards everything works fine. However, I noticed that I may often release the modifiers a bit too early. In Ubuntu 10.10 (metacity/compiz) my keyboard shortcuts would still execute and my tools would pop up. This does not work anymore in 12.04. Nevertheless, I still believe the old behavior to be more intuitive and would like to have it back. I a nutshell: Is there a parameter to control the shortcut-key-press detection behavior? I already searched the ubuntu keyboard options and searched for "keyboard" in gconf-editor but could not find any hints so far.

  • Unsafe shutdown on power button press (Ubuntu Server 13.10)

    - by Sam Bloomberg
I have Ubuntu Server 13.10 set up on a machine, and whenever I press (not press and hold) the power button the machine doesn't safely shutdown (it instantly powers off), though it does flash the message "acpid: exiting" before turning off. If I instead run shutdown -h now, it goes through the usual cycle of stopping processes, unmounting filesystems, etc... Any ideas why this might be? I want the power button to safely shut down the system (unless I hold it down, of course).

  • Indicator menu require long press to open

    - by thor
I am using 11.10 on my laptop and have a following issue: If I single click on items in notification area (or indicators), like messaging menu, sound menu, calendar, a menu appears and disappears as soon as mouse button is released. I need to do a long press then move pointer to menu area to be able to select items in it. Any clues to fix it? P.S. This is a fresh install but my home folder (thus settings) were restored from previous Ubuntu installation.
