• Improve Performance of char.IsWhiteSpace for ASCII inputs in .NET 3.5

  IsNullOrWhiteSpace is a new method introduced in string class in .NET 4.0. While this is a very useful method in string based processing, I attempted to implement it in .NET 3.5 using char.IsWhiteSpace() . I have found significant performance penalty using this method which I replaced later on, with my version. The following code takes about 20.6074219 seconds in my machine whereas my implementation of char.IsWhiteSpace takes about 1/4 less time 15.8271485 seconds only. • Saving contents of ApplicationState in ASP.Net (MVC)

  I have an internal app used to edit XML files on disk. The XML files are loaded into an object model which is stored in ApplicationState. I need to save this data. The one option is to do this every time the user changes some data. However, this seems a bit inefficient - writing the data out to disk each time a change is made. Instead, is it possible to be notified whenever the user closes their browser, plus just before the web server exits? Thus, the data would be saved each time a session ends, plus when the computer shuts down, etc. I thought that Application_End(), Application_Error() and Session_End() in Global.asax would provide this, but these methods don't seem to be called.

  We know that: In case of iterative solution: Alternating between the smallest and the next-smallest disks, follow the steps for the appropriate case: For an even number of disks: make the legal move between pegs A and B make the legal move between pegs A and C make the legal move between pegs B and C repeat until complete For an odd number of disks: make the legal move between pegs A and C make the legal move between pegs A and B make the legal move between pegs B and C repeat until complete In case of recursive solution: To move n discs from peg A to peg C: move n-1 discs from A to B. This leaves disc n alone on peg A move disc n from A to C move n-1 discs from B to C so they sit on disc n Now the questions are: How did we get this two solutions? Only by intuition? Or by logical/mathematical computation? If computation, how?
