Does smartermail store the parsed email messages in a sql database I could access directly?

All emails sent from the server are displaying Cyrillic letters as weird characters, for example: ÐœÐ¾Ð¶Ð½Ð¾. Regular alphabet letters are properly rendered. So deleted some old backups we don't need, but can't track down where about 30GB seems to be taken up.
