  • .net generate proxy classes problem (wsdl/svchost) by soapHeader

    - by Oguzhan
    I'm using a web service from .Net C# client application. My web service has a method which return generic list and in my client application I use Configuration Service Reference to change array to generic list.Its working correctly. But when I add a soapHeader to my web service Configuration Service Reference to change array to generic list its not working and return Array instead of generic list. public class Service1 : System.Web.Services.WebService { public Authentication authentication = new Authentication(); [SoapHeader("authentication")] [WebMethod] public List<string> HelloWorld() { List<string> result = new List<string>(); result.Add("oguzhan"); return result; } } public class Authentication : SoapHeader { public string username; public string password; }

  • PHP Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction

    - by Joe
    I am making my first SOAPclient and I am stuck with the Headers, I am getting a response and when I look at my request it has a soap:body but no soap:headers. The web service has needs 3 parameters 1.UserName 2.Password 3.errorMessage This is the code I have set up. $SOAPAction = 'http://localhost/DriveAwayPriceCalculation/PriceCalculation'; //Namespace of the WS. // $SoapHeaders = array('User123' => $UserName, 'Password123' => $Password, '' => $errorMessage); $client = new nusoap_client("https://test.com/CalculationWS.asmx?WSDL", false, $UserName, $Password, $errorMessage); $headers = new SoapHeader('http://localhost/DriveAwayPriceCalculation/PriceCalculation', true, $SoapHeaders); As I said I am just starting out in SOAP (and PHP) so if you could help, it would be great. Thanks

  • How to pass SOAP headers into python SUDS that are not defined in WSDL file

    - by chrissygormley
    Hello, I have a camera on my network, I am trying to connect to it with suds but suds doesn't send all the information needed. I need to put extra soap headers not defined in the WSDL file so the camera can understand the message. All the headers are contained in a SOAP envelope and then the suds command be in the body of the message. I have checked the suds website and it says to pass in the headers like so: from suds.sax.element import Element client = client(url) ssnns = ('ssn', 'http://namespaces/sessionid') ssn = Element('SessionID', ns=ssnns).setText('123') client.set_options(soapheaders=ssn) result = client.service.addPerson(person) Now I am not sure how I would implement this, say for example I have the below header: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:SOAP ENC="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-encoding" xmlns:p1="http://www.website.org/ver10/p/wsdl"> .<SOAP-ENV:Header> Using this or a similar example does anyone know hos I would get this passed into the soap command so my camera understands? Thanks

    - by Jay
    This is my code: <?php error_reporting(E_ALL); //new instance of soapClient pointing to Ebay finding api $client = new SoapClient("http://developer.ebay.com/webservices/finding/latest/FindingService.wsdl"); //attach required parameters to soap message header $header_arr = array(); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-MESSAGE-PROTOCOL", "SOAP11"); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-SERVICE-NAME", "FindingService"); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-OPERATION-NAME", "findItemsByKeywords"); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-SERVICE-VERSION", "1.0.0"); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-GLOBAL-ID", "EBAY-GB"); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-SECURITY-APPNAME", "REMOVED"); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-REQUEST-DATA-FORMAT", "XML"); $header_arr[] = new SoapHeader("X-EBAY-SOA-MESSAGE-PROTOCOL", "XML"); $test = $client->__setSoapHeaders($header_arr); $client->__setLocation("http://svcs.ebay.com/services/search/FindingService/v1");//endpoint $FindItemsByKeywordsRequest = array( "keywords" => "potter" ); $result = $client->__soapCall("findItemsByKeywords", $FindItemsByKeywordsRequest); //print_r($client->__getFunctions()); //print_r($client->__getTypes()); //print_r($result); ? And this is the error I receive: Fatal error: Uncaught SoapFault exception: [axis2ns2:Server] Missing SOA operation name header in C:\xampplite\htdocs\OOP\newfile.php:25 Stack trace: #0 C:\xampplite\htdocs\OOP\newfile.php(25): SoapClient-__soapCall('findItemsByKeyw...', Array) #1 {main} thrown in C:\xampplite\htdocs\OOP\newfile.php on line 25 It doesnt make sense, I have already set the operation name in the header of the request... Does anyone know what is wrong here?

  • WWSAPI and setting "soapenv:Header" values

    - by Ben Burnett
    I'm trying to connect to a web service from a C++ app using WWS. I got the base connection working just fine. My XML message has two parts though, a header (soapenv:Header) and a body (soapenv:Body). the generated functions only fill in the body. How do I set the Header information? I assumed it has something to do with WsSetHeader() or WsAddCustomHeader() but can't seam to find the right values to use in the parameters. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I've been googling and trying to research this now for several days and am finding many sources for basic help with WWSAPI, but nothing seams to go deeper into how to use it for more advanced applications. any good links or resources to find more advanced help on WWSAPI? Thanks, --Ben Burnett www.burnett.ws

  • gSOAP: How to send encrypted SOAP header

    - by Kangkan
    I want to send some info, like user credentials in the SOAP header from my gSOAP client to my WCF webservice. I wish I could send them in encrypted form. I am using GPRS to commuicate. As GPRS bandwidth is low, I don't want to use HTTPS. So I want to encrypt the header only. Is it possible? If yes, how? Please guide me.

How would I go about passing the header credentials to my web service call?

  • How do I add a header to a VB.NET 2008 SOAP request? [migrated]

    - by robokev
    I have a VB.NET 2008 program that accesses a Siebel web service defined by a WSDL and using the SOAP protocol. The Siebel web service requires that a header containing the username, password and session type be included with the service request, but the header is not defined in the WSDL. So, when I test the WSDL using the soapUI utility, the request as defined by the WSDL looks like this: <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:lov="http://www.siebel.com/xml/LOVService" xmlns:lis="http://www.siebel.com/xml/ListQuery"> <soapenv:Header/> <soapenv:Body> <lov:EAILOVGetListOfValues_Input> <lis:ListsQuery> <lis:ListQuery> <lis:Active>Y</lis:Active> <lis:LanguageCode>ENU</lis:LanguageCode> <lis:Type>CUT_ACCOUNT_TYPE</lis:Type> </lis:ListQuery> </lis:ListsQuery> </lov:EAILOVGetListOfValues_Input> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> But the above does not work because it contains an empty header that is missing user and session credentials. It only works if I manually replace <soapenv:Header/> with a header containing the username, password, and session type as follows: <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:lov="http://www.siebel.com/xml/LOVService" xmlns:lis="http://www.siebel.com/xml/ListQuery"> <soapenv:Header> <UsernameToken xmlns="http://siebel.com/webservices">TESTUSER</UsernameToken> <PasswordText xmlns="http://siebel.com/webservices">TESTPASSWORD</PasswordText> <SessionType xmlns="http://siebel.com/webservices">None</SessionType> </soapenv:Header> <soapenv:Body> <lov:EAILOVGetListOfValues_Input> <lis:ListsQuery> <lis:ListQuery> <lis:Active>Y</lis:Active> <lis:LanguageCode>ENU</lis:LanguageCode> <lis:Type>CUT_ACCOUNT_TYPE</lis:Type> </lis:ListQuery> </lis:ListsQuery> </lov:EAILOVGetListOfValues_Input> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> My problem is that I cannot sort out how to translate the above into VB.NET 2008 code. I have no problem importing the WSDL into Visual Studio 2008, defining the service in VB code and referencing the web service methods. However, I cannot sort out how to define the web service in VB such that the updated header in included in the web service request instead of the empty header. Consequently all my service requests from VB fail. I can define a class that inherits from the SoapHeader class... Public Class MySoapHeader : Inherits System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHeader Public Username As String Public Password As String Public SessionType As String End Class ...but how do I include this header in the SOAP request made from VB?

  • Parsing XML elements with dynamic namespace prefix in PHP

    - by BugKiller
    I have the following XML ( you can say SOAP request ) : <SOAPENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAPENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:NS="http://xyz.gov/headerschema" > <SOAPENV:Header> <NS:myHeader> <NS:SourceID>223423</NS:SourceID> </NS:myHeader> </SOAPENV:Header> </SOAPENV:Envelope> I use the following code and it works fine : <?php $myRequest ='<SOAPENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAPENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:NS="http://xyz.gov/headerschema" > <SOAPENV:Header> <NS:myHeader> <NS:SourceID>223423</NS:SourceID> </NS:myHeader> </SOAPENV:Header> </SOAPENV:Envelope>'; $xml = simplexml_load_string($myRequest, NULL, NULL, "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"); $namespaces = $xml->getNameSpaces(true); $soapHeader = $xml->children($namespaces['SOAPENV'])->Header; $myHeader = $soapHeader->children($namespaces['NS'])->myHeader; echo (string)$myHeader->SourceID; ?> The Problem I know the prefix ( SOAPENV + NS ) , but the clients could change the prefix to whatever they want, so they may send me xml document that has ( MY-SOAPENV + MY-NS) prefixes. My Question How can I handle this since the namespace prefixes are not static , how can I parse it ? Thanks

  • Can't connect to SSL web service with WS-Security using PHP SOAP extension - certificate, complex WSDL

    - by BillF
    Using the PHP5 SOAP extension I have been unable to connect to a web service having an https endpoint, with client certificate and using WS-Security, although I can connect using soapUI with the exact same wsdl and client certificate, and obtain the normal response to the request. There is no HTTP authentication and no proxy is involved. The message I get is 'Could not connect to host'. Have been able to verify that I am NOT hitting the host server. (Earlier I wrongly said that I was hitting the server.) The self-signed client SSL certificate is a .pem file converted by openssl from a .p12 keystore which in turn was converted by keytool from a .jks keystore having a single entry consisting of private key and client certificate. In soapUI I did not need to supply a server private certificate, the only two files I gave it were the wdsl and pem. I did have to supply the pem and its passphrase to be able to connect. I am speculating that despite the error message my problem might actually be in the formation of the XML request rather than the SSL connection itself. The wsdl I have been given has nested complex types. The php server is on my Windows XP laptop with IIS. The code, data values and WSDL extracts are shown below. (The WSSoapClient class simply extends SoapClient, adding a WS-Security Username Token header with mustUnderstand = true and including a nonce, both of which the soapUI call had required.) Would so much appreciate any help. I'm a newbie thrown in at the deep end, and how! Have done vast amounts of Googling on this over many days, following many suggestions and have read Pro PHP by Kevin McArthur. An attempt to use classmaps in place of nested arrays also fell flat. The Code class STEeService { public function invokeWebService(array $connection, $operation, array $request) { try { $localCertificateFilespec = $connection['localCertificateFilespec']; $localCertificatePassphrase = $connection['localCertificatePassphrase']; $sslOptions = array( 'ssl' => array( 'local_cert' => $localCertificateFilespec, 'passphrase' => $localCertificatePassphrase, 'allow_self-signed' => true, 'verify_peer' => false ) ); $sslContext = stream_context_create($sslOptions); $clientArguments = array( 'stream_context' => $sslContext, 'local_cert' => $localCertificateFilespec, 'passphrase' => $localCertificatePassphrase, 'trace' => true, 'exceptions' => true, 'encoding' => 'UTF-8', 'soap_version' => SOAP_1_1 ); $oClient = new WSSoapClient($connection['wsdlFilespec'], $clientArguments); $oClient->__setUsernameToken($connection['username'], $connection['password']); return $oClient->__soapCall($operation, $request); } catch (exception $e) { throw new Exception("Exception in eServices " . $operation . " ," . $e->getMessage(), "\n"); } } } $connection is as follows: array(5) { ["username"]=> string(8) "DFU00050" ["password"]=> string(10) "Fabricate1" ["wsdlFilespec"]=> string (63) "c:/inetpub/wwwroot/DMZExternalService_Concrete_WSDL_Staging.xml" ["localCertificateFilespec"]=> string(37) "c:/inetpub/wwwroot/ClientKeystore.pem" ["localCertificatePassphrase"]=> string(14) "password123456" } $clientArguments is as follows: array(7) { ["stream_context"]=> resource(8) of type (stream-context) ["local_cert"]=> string(37) "c:/inetpub/wwwroot/ClientKeystore.pem" ["passphrase"]=> string(14) "password123456" ["trace"]=> bool(true) ["exceptions"]=> bool(true) ["encoding"]=> string(5) "UTF-8" ["soap_version"]=> int(1) } $operation is as follows: 'getConsignmentDetails' $request is as follows: array(1) { [0]=> array(2) { ["header"]=> array(2) { ["source"]=> string(9) "customerA" ["accountNo"]=> string(8) "10072906" } ["consignmentId"]=> string(11) "GKQ00000085" } } Note how there is an extra level of nesting, an array wrapping the request which is itself an array. This was suggested in a post although I don't see the reason, but it seems to help avoid other exceptions. The exception thrown by ___soapCall is as follows: object(SoapFault)#6 (9) { ["message":protected]=> string(25) "Could not connect to host" ["string":"Exception":private]=> string(0) "" • Sending a Soap Header with a WSDL Soap Request with PHP

    - by Josh Smeaton
    I'm extremely new to SOAP and I'm trying to implement a quick test client in PHP that consumes a ASP.NET web service. The web service relies on a Soap Header that contains authorization parameters. Is it possible to send the auth header along with a soap request when using WSDL? My code: php $service = new SoapClient("http://localhost:16840/CTI.ConfigStack.WS/ATeamService.asmx?WSDL"); $service->AddPendingUsers($users, 3); // Example webservice [SoapHeader("AuthorisationHeader")] [WebMethod] public void AddPendingUsers(List<PendingUser> users, int templateUserId) { ateamService.AddPendingUsers(users, templateUserId, AuthorisationHeader.UserId); } How would the auth header be passed in this context? Or will I need to do a low lever __soapCall() to pass in the header? Also, am I invoking the correct soap call within PHP?

  • How to add custom SOAP header in Spring WS using Axiom and XmlBeans

    - by java_pill
    I'm using Spring WS 1.5.8, XmlBeans for marshalling/unmarshalling and AxiomSoapMessageFactory. My app. needs a custom SOAP header. The data that needs to be in the SOAP Header is a XmlBean (i.e sessionContext in the code below). How can I construct the SOAP Header with this XmlBeans XmlObject element in it? I've mentioned the code of my WebServiceMessageCallback that I'm using and executing this code results in "'Content is not allowed in prolog.' error. Thanks, public void doWithMessage(WebServiceMessage message) throws IOException, TransformerException { SoapMessage soapMessage = (SoapMessage) message; SoapHeader header = soapMessage.getSoapHeader(); StringSource headerSource = new StringSource(XmlBeanUtils.getValue(sessionContext) ); transform(headerSource, header.getResult()); }

  • Help with SOAP request using PHP

    - by mptre
    I'm having a SOAP related problem in PHP. I'm trying to create arbitrary SOAP request using Nusoap_client class. The complete request including headers should look like the example below. Ofcourse the placeholders (string) should be replaced with actual values. POST /services/RecipeCouponAPI11.asmx HTTP/1.1 Host: example.com Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Content-Length: length SOAPAction: "http://www.example.com/services/GetCouponAll" <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <soap:Header> <RCAuthenticator xmlns="http://www.example.com/services/"> <UserName>string</UserName> <Password>string</Password> </RCAuthenticator> </soap:Header> <soap:Body> <GetCouponAll xmlns="http://www.example.com/services/"> <campaignCode>string</campaignCode> </GetCouponAll> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> I tried the following code with no luck. Seems like the request isn't formated correctly. Any ideas on how to get his working? <?php $client = new Nusoap_client('http://www.example.com/services/RecipeCouponAPI11.asmx'); $headers = new SoapHeader( 'http://www.example.com/services/', 'RCAuthenticator', (object)array( 'UserName' => 'username', 'Password' => 'password' ), false ); $client->setHeaders(array($headers)); $response = $client->call( 'GetCouponAll', array('campaignCode' => 'campaigncode'), null, 'http://www.example.com/services/GetCouponAll' ); ?> Thanks in advantage!

  • Custom header using PHP soap functions

    - by Dees
    Hi, I am having a problem getting a custom soap header to work with PHP5. Can anybody guide me please. What I require is something like this <SOAP-ENV:Header> <USER>myusername</USER> <PASSWORD>mypassword</PASSWORD> </SOAP-ENV:Header> What I get is : <SOAP-ENV:Header> <ns2:null> <USER>myusername</USER> <PASSWORD>mypassword</PASSWORD> </ns2:null> </SOAP-ENV:Header> I would like to remove the namespace tags. The code I use to get this is: class Authstuff { public $USER; public $PASSWORD; public function __construct($user, $pass) { $this->USER = $user; $this->PASSWORD = $pass; } } $auth = new Authstuff('myusername', 'mypassword'); $param = array('Authstuff' => $auth); $authvalues = new SoapVar($auth,SOAP_ENC_OBJECT); $header = new SoapHeader('http://soapinterop.org/echoheader/',"null",$authvalues);

  • can't commit or rollback, MySQL out of sync error on .net

    Im having trouble with a stored procedure, I can't commit after I execute it. Its showing this error "[System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException] = {"ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Commands out of sync; you can't run this command now"}" The SP by itself works fine. does anyone have idea of what might be happening? .net code: [WebMethod()] [SoapHeader("sesion")] public Boolean aceptarTasaCero(int idMunicipio, double valor) { Boolean resultado = false; OdbcConnection cxn = new OdbcConnection(); cxn.ConnectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["mysqlConnection"].ConnectionString; cxn.Open(); OdbcCommand cmd = new OdbcCommand("call aceptarTasaCero(?,?)", cxn); cmd.Parameters.Add("idMunicipio", OdbcType.Int).Value = idMunicipio; cmd.Parameters.Add("valor", OdbcType.Double).Value = valor; cmd.Transaction = cxn.BeginTransaction(); try { OdbcDataReader dr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); if (dr.Read()) { resultado = Convert.ToBoolean(dr[0]); } cmd.Transaction.Commit(); } catch (Exception ex) { ExBi.log(ex, sesion.idUsuario); cmd.Transaction.Rollback(); } finally { cxn.Close(); } return resultado; } and this is the code for the stored procedure DELIMITER $$ DROP PROCEDURE IF EXISTS `aceptartasacero` $$ CREATE DEFINER=`database`@`%` PROCEDURE `aceptartasacero`(pidMun INTEGER, pvalor double) BEGIN declare vExito BOOLEAN; INSERT INTO tasacero(anio,valor,idmunicipios) VALUES(YEAR(curdate()),pValor,pidMun); set vExito = true; select vExito; END $$ DELIMITER ; thanks.

  • Speeding up a soap powered website

    - by ChrisRamakers
    Hi all, We're currently looking into doing some performance tweaking on a website which relies heavily on a Soap webservice. But ... our servers are located in Belgium and the webservice we connect to is locate in San Francisco so it's a long distance connection to say the least. Our website is PHP powered, using PHP's built in SoapClient class. On average a call to the webservice takes 0.7 seconds and we are doing about 3-5 requests per page. All possible request/response caching is already implemented so we are now looking at other ways to improved the connection speed. This is the code which instantiates the SoapClient, what i'm looking for now is other ways/methods to improve speed on single requestes. Anyone has idea's or suggestions? private function _createClient() { try { $wsdl = sprintf($this->config->wsUrl.'?wsdl', $this->wsdl); $client = new SoapClient($wsdl, array( 'soap_version' => SOAP_1_1, 'encoding' => 'utf-8', 'connection_timeout' => 5, 'cache_wsdl' => 1, 'trace' => 1, 'features' => SOAP_SINGLE_ELEMENT_ARRAYS )); $header_tags = array('username' => new SOAPVar($this->config->wsUsername, XSD_STRING, null, null, null, $this->ns), 'password' => new SOAPVar(md5($this->config->wsPassword), XSD_STRING, null, null, null, $this->ns)); $header_body = new SOAPVar($header_tags, SOAP_ENC_OBJECT); $header = new SOAPHeader($this->ns, 'AuthHeaderElement', $header_body); $client->__setSoapHeaders($header); } catch (SoapFault $e){ controller('Error')->error($id.': Webservice connection error '.$e->getCode()); exit; } $this->client = $client; return $this->client; }

  • Overwriting TFS Web Services

    - by javarg
    In this blog I will share a technique I used to intercept TFS Web Services calls. This technique is a very invasive one and requires you to overwrite default TFS Web Services behavior. I only recommend taking such an approach when other means of TFS extensibility fail to provide the same functionality (this is not a supported TFS extensibility point). For instance, intercepting and aborting a Work Item change operation could be implemented using this approach (consider TFS Subscribers functionality before taking this approach, check Martin’s post about subscribers). So let’s get started. The technique consists in versioning TFS Web Services .asmx service classes. If you look into TFS’s ASMX services you will notice that versioning is supported by creating a class hierarchy between different product versions. For instance, let’s take the Work Item management service .asmx. Check the following .asmx file located at: %Program Files%\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010\Application Tier\Web Services\_tfs_resources\WorkItemTracking\v3.0\ClientService.asmx The .asmx references the class Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Server.ClientService3: <%-- Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. --%> <%@ webservice language="C#" Class="Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Server.ClientService3" %> .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } The inheritance hierarchy for this service class follows: Note the naming convention used for service versioning (ClientService3, ClientService2, ClientService). We will need to overwrite the latest service version provided by the product (in this case ClientService3 for TFS 2010). The following example intercepts and analyzes WorkItem fields. Suppose we need to validate state changes with more advanced logic other than the provided validations/constraints of the process template. Important: Backup the original .asmx file and create one of your own. Create a Visual Studio Web App Project and include a new ASMX Web Service in the project Add the following references to the project (check the folder %Program Files%\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010\Application Tier\Web Services\bin\): Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Server.dll Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Server.dll Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Server.dll Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.QueryLanguage.dll Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Server.DataAccessLayer.dll Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Server.DataServices.dll Replace the default service implementation with the something similar to the following code: Code Snippet /// <summary> /// Inherit from ClientService3 to overwrite default Implementation /// </summary> [WebService(Namespace = "http://schemas.microsoft.com/TeamFoundation/2005/06/WorkItemTracking/ClientServices/03", Description = "Custom Team Foundation WorkItemTracking ClientService Web Service")] public class CustomTfsClientService : ClientService3 {     [WebMethod, SoapHeader("requestHeader", Direction = SoapHeaderDirection.In)]     public override bool BulkUpdate(         XmlElement package,         out XmlElement result,         MetadataTableHaveEntry[] metadataHave,         out string dbStamp,         out Payload metadata)     {         var xe = XElement.Parse(package.OuterXml);         // We only intercept WorkItems Updates (we can easily extend this sample to capture any operation).         var wit = xe.Element("UpdateWorkItem");         if (wit != null)         {             if (wit.Attribute("WorkItemID") != null)             {                 int witId = (int)wit.Attribute("WorkItemID");                 // With this Id. I can query TFS for more detailed information, using TFS Client API (assuming the WIT already exists).                 var stateChanged =                     wit.Element("Columns").Elements("Column").FirstOrDefault(c => (string)c.Attribute("Column") == "System.State");                 if (stateChanged != null)                 {                     var newStateName = stateChanged.Element("Value").Value;                     if (newStateName == "Resolved")                     {                         throw new Exception("Cannot change state to Resolved!");                     }                 }             }         }         // Finally, we call base method implementation         return base.BulkUpdate(package, out result, metadataHave, out dbStamp, out metadata);     } } .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; background-color: #ffffff; /*white-space: pre;*/ } .csharpcode pre { margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .rem { color: #008000; } .csharpcode .kwrd { color: #0000ff; } .csharpcode .str { color: #006080; } .csharpcode .op { color: #0000c0; } .csharpcode .preproc { color: #cc6633; } .csharpcode .asp { background-color: #ffff00; } .csharpcode .html { color: #800000; } .csharpcode .attr { color: #ff0000; } .csharpcode .alt { background-color: #f4f4f4; width: 100%; margin: 0em; } .csharpcode .lnum { color: #606060; } 4. Build your solution and overwrite the original .asmx with the new implementation referencing our new service version (don’t forget to backup it up first). 5. Copy your project’s .dll into the following path: %Program Files%\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010\Application Tier\Web Services\bin 6. Try saving a WorkItem into the Resolved state. Enjoy!
