  • SSIS how to set connection string dynamically from a config file

    Hi, I am using sql server integration services(SSIS) in sql server business intelligent devolopment studio. I need to do a task --that is. I have to read from a source database and put it into a destination flat file.But the same time the source databse should be configurable. That means in the Oledbconnection manager connection string should change dynamically.this connection string should be taking from a configuration/xml/flat file. I read that i can use varaibles and expressions to change the connection string dynamically.But how do i read connection string value from a config/xml/flat file and set the variable? This part i am unable to do.Or is this the right way to achieve this.. Can we add web.config files to ssis project.? I am new to SSIs. Please provide some help with examles etc. and this is quiet urgent for me. Thanks SNA.

  • Visual studio 2003 web projects.

    Hi, I have a requirement to work on a VS2003 web project. I have VS2008,vs2010,vs2003 installed in my system Other System details are Windows Xp professional version 2 service pack 3. IIS 5.1 When i am trying to create a VS 2003 web project giving the localhost as path i am getting the following error. "visual studio noted that specified web server is not running under asp .net 1.1 version.You will be unable to run asp .net web applications or services". I have used aspnet_regiis commands as well as a tool(ASPNETVersionSwitcher.exe ) to swith versions and in iis also default web site asp.net version chosen as asp .net 1.14322. Still i am getting the error. same error i get ,if i point a virtual directory in the existing 1.1 .net web application and trying to open it. Please advise since i have to work on this project as soon as possible. Thanks SNA

  • SSIS(sql server integration service) xml data flow

    Hi, I have an xml file the content which i have to write to a Database table using ssis pacakge. I am using xml source nad oledb destination My issue now is this xml file generate multiple outputs .(event,produt,offer,form) etc. But i need to write all in one data row(more than one if 2 products are there for the event) in the database. But i do not know how to use this multiple outputs and make a single row for a event. I hav read numerous articles about this subject but not able to take a decision.what is the right way of doing this. 1) xml source ? (if i use this how do i merge the multiple outputs) 2) or a script task using xml objects read and write to the DB. or anything new ?   • SSIS FTP task connection error

    Hi, I have a FTP connection manager in SSIS. I have configured it with serevr IP, port number, user name, and password. It was working fine. But suddenly its stopped working. But i am able to login directly to the FTP web site directly .It was not working temporarily.But now its working with same login credentials. But my FTP connection manager in SSIS is unable to connect to the server. with following Error message "connection cannot be established.server name ,port number ,credentials may be invalid" What could be the reason? I have checked servername,port and login credentials all are same. Note: This is a ssl ftp website(https://xxx.xx.xx.com/) Some one please look into this isssue and provide a solution. Thanks SNA

  • ssis Connection manager password ("DontSaveSensitive")

    Hi, I have a SSIS package used the protection level as "DontSaveSensitive" So initially i have saved the oledb connection manager password as in a XML config file.And this worked fine for me. Now for business requiremnt i have stored the configuration in sql server. Including password. Initially it worked fine.But suddenly connection manager is not taking password from sqlDB. If i set an environment variable for the "password" it's working. My question is. 1) what is the solution for this.( i can only save the configurations in sql) 2) initially how it worked.I mean initailly from sql server the password was taking. Please give some clue.I am doing a lot of trial and error. Thanks SNA

  • Ajax in existing asp .net project.

    hi , I have a web page devoloped in visual studio 2008. I have 4 dropdowns and a repeater in the page.based on the selection(search criteria) from the dropdowns the repeater value will change. and one dropdown selection will bind values to the other dropdown also. Since the page is causing a lot of postback we decided to implement ajax here. I am yet to learn ajax. Can anyone tell what is the best way to do this .which ajax control replace dropdowns? i have already server side code written on all dropdowns. Please give me a good solution which i can implement in less time and reuse my code. Thanks SNA

  • Multiple controls with the same ID 'xxx' were found

    Hi, I have a enterprise application converted from VS2003 to vs2005 . The converted application, in one page i do edit and save i am getting this error. 'Multiple controls with the same ID 'hidWIPID0' were found But the same work fine in the code of vs2003 version without any error. Its a huge application with dynamic master pages and usercontrols etc..So i cant paste the exact code here. But the origin of the error is master page content control. eg: page code MasterPageStrategy:Content id="pnlMain" Error Multiple controls with the same ID 'hidWIPID0' were found View Source MasterPage:pnlMain:_ctl2:hidWIPID0 I Microsoft support there is an article explaining the same issue.But it applies to 1.1 version. I have already converted code in 2.0 version and the error appears in convertd code. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834608 someone please look into this issue and provide me a solution as it is very urgent.   • Performance on joins in linq

    HI , I am going to rewrite a store procedure in LINQ. What this sp is doing is joining 12 tables and get the data and insert it into another table. it has 7 left outer joins and 4 inner joins.And returns one row of data. Now question. 1)What is the best way to achieve this joins in linq. 2) do you think this affect performance (its only retrieving one row of data at a given point of time) Please advice. Thanks SNA.

    Hi All, I have a asp.net page which is checking a UNC path on a listbox item change event using Directory.exist method. This works fine in Internet explorer.   • SSIS 2005 How to add a zip task?

    Hi , I have a ssis 2005 project. I have to add a zipping task.ie, i have to zip a text file. But i have to follow DB standards of the ORG. strictly. 1) No 3rd party software in the DB server.Not even resourec kit tools 2) No exe's in the DB server. so i cant use(windows resource kit tools,7-zip, and a execute process task to invoke a c# exe.) please suggest me a way to achieve zipping in ssis without compromising the DB standards.Any zip task is available as an addin to SSIS 2005?
