  • 12.04 Wacom Volito tablet pressed without touching tablet surface

    My tablet has worked okay in the past with older Ubuntu versions, and I think even with 12.04 a while back. Perhaps something has changed with the driver. Anyway my problem is the same as listed in this Ubuntu Forums thread, only the fixes in there don't seem to work for me. xsetwacom changes the value, but seems to have no effect on the tablet, and there is no entry in dconf-editor. Does anyone have any ideas? The tablet is basically unusable to me at the moment. It's an original Volito rather than the Volito 2 listed in the thread, but the problem is identical.

  • 12.04 tablet cursor jumps around when clicking

    After updating to 12.04 i had to re-install wizardpen-driver (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/TabletSetupWizardpen) to use my Trust tablet. But now when I change the Coordinate Transformation Matrix to anything else but the identity matrix, moving the pen moves the cursor normally, but when I click (or press with the pen) the cursor jumps to the edge of the screen, seemingly depending on how I edit the matrix. I know the tablet isn't broken since this behaviour doesn't occur if I leave the matrix as an identity matrix, and the tablet works perfectly on Windows. -L

    I'm totally lost. I've just built a new system and installed Ubuntu 12.04. It's my first time with Linux and getting into the terminal / command line for the first time since IBMDOS 5 and Windows 3.1 has been a steep learning curve. However, the interface works beautifully apart from it doesn't recognize my Hanvon Artmaster AM1209. I have sent diagnostics to Digimend and Favux was kind enough to advise that the tablet should be using the Wacom X driver as the Hanvon is actually a Hanwang and these should be supported. lsusb reports: ID 0b57:8501 Beijing HanwangTechnology Co., Ltd xinput list reports: ? Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ? ? Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)] ? ? PS/2+USB Mouse id=8 [slave pointer (2)] ? Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)] ? AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=10 [slave keyboard (3)] Favux suggested inspecting /var/log/Xorg.0.log for the tablet but I cannot see any mention of it, and that is as far as I have got. I've tried researching the problem but I am struggling with all the new terminology and the fact that I want the PC to be a means to an end and not the end in itself where I spend the rest of my days tweaking and testing rather than just using it. Hope there is some help out there.

  • Why is my Wacom Intuos tablet not detected?

    I need a little help trying to install a Wacom Intuos tablet, model number CTL-480/S. My installation of Ubuntu 13.04, 64bit, doesn't seem to be able to detect the device. I've tried an few different USB ports on my machine and get the same result. I believe there is an issue because when I open the System Settings app from the launcher and browse to the Wacom Tablet section under hardware, it reports that there is 'No table detected'.   • Thinkpad x201 Tablet - Touch doesn't work correctly under 12.04

    running 12.04 on my Thinkpad X201t. On the login screen the touch works fine, the mouse cursor appears where I touch the screen. After I logged in, it doesn't work anymore. If I touch the display, the cursor stays on the point where it was before, it doesn't jump to the touchpoint. I can move it, yes, but its chaotic. With the pen it works fine, but without the touch-function it's not enought for real tablet usage. So, would be glad if touch-function can be fixed. I'm very new to Linux/Ubuntu, so don't know where I can start. Haven't found anything in the system settings & Compiz so far, also no luck in google etc. Would be glad for help ;-). Of course I could go back to 11.04... but I would prefer to stay with the new system. Best, Joachim

  • Installing Ubuntu on an Asus Vivotab Smart Windows 8 32-bit processor tablet

    Good day, I just got an Asus Vivotab Smart with Windows 8 but the processor is actually a 32-bit type. I am kinda confused with the Ubuntu version to install (32-bit or 64-bit). I have read all the tips and guidelines on installing Ubuntu on a Windows 8 machine. I have disabled fast boot, quiet boot, secure boot, and still cannot boot from the usb. I tried this with Ubuntu 12.04.2, 12.10, and 13.04 (the 64-bit versions only). I am yet to try a 32-bit version but I'm reluctant since Canonical says only the 64-bit version was developed to handle the Windows 8 UEFI issues. Also, I have a boot-override field in my UEFI options which I think force-boots from the boot option one selects. I selected to force-boot from my pendrive containing Ubuntu, but the screen just blinks momentarily and nothing happens. Please help me to figure out how to load ubuntu on my machine. I don't really want the Windows 8......just Ubuntu on my tablet. Thank you.

    I recently bought a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch CTH460L. I installed doctormo's PPA, however, the pen functionality didn't work and the touch was very glitchy (when I touched it, it immediately double clicked and began to drag elements in the screen). I tried to configure it using the wacom-utility package in the Synaptic Package Manager (version 1.21-1) but that didn't work either. Then I followed this post (#621, written by aaaalex), and after some problems trying to restart Ubuntu (graphics related problems), the pen works fine (it could be better, though) but the touch functionality doesn't work anymore. Currently I have installed xserver-xorg-input-wacom (1:0.10.11-0ubuntu7), wacom-dkms (0.8.10.2-1ubuntu1) and wacom-utility. The Wacom Utility only displays an "options" field under "Wacom BambooPT 2FG 4X5" but no other option to configure it. What is the correct way to get this tablet working on Ubuntu 10.04?. By the way, currently I can't start Ubuntu properly when the tablet is connected (in that case, Ubuntu start in low graphics mode). I need to connect it later. UPDATE: I uninstalled xserver -xorg-input-wacom, and wacom-utility because one of them prevented Ubuntu to start normally. I only re-installed wacom-dkms 0.8.10.2-1ubuntu1. The pen is working but no touch functionality. The side buttons don't work either. Thanks in advance.

  • Wacom consumer tablet driver service may crash while opening Bamboo Preferences, often after resuming computer from sleep

    One of the ExpressKeys on my Wacom Bamboo Capture graphics tablet is mapped to Bamboo Preferences, so that I can quickly access the tablet settings and view the battery level (I have the Wireless Accessory Kit installed). However, when I connect the tablet to the computer, in wired or wireless mode, and attempt to open Bamboo Preferences, the Wacom consumer tablet driver service may crash, most often when I try to do so after resuming the computer from sleep. There is usually no direct indication of the crash (although I once did get Tablet Service for consumer driver stopped working and was closed), only that the cursor shows that the system is busy for a split second. When this happens, the pen no longer tracks on the screen when in proximity of the tablet (even though it is detected by the tablet itself); however, touch continues to function correctly. To recover from this condition, I need to restart the tablet driver services. I got tired of having to go through Task Manager to restart the service every time this happens, so I ended up writing the following command script, with a shortcut on the desktop for running it with elevated privileges: net stop TabletServicePen net start TabletServicePen net stop TouchServicePen net start TouchServicePen Is there something I can do to prevent these crashes from happening in the first place, or do I have have to deal with this issue until the driver is updated? Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Tablet drivers are up to date.   • Tablet pen loses pressure sensitivity after screensaver

    Tablet: Genius MousePen 8x6 System: Windows 7 64-bit The question says it all. When I first boot up my machine, the tablet works fine, with pressure sensitivity functionality. However, if I leave the machine long enough for the screensaver to start up, when I return, the tablet works just like a mouse, and does not respond to changes in pen pressure. Unplugging and replugging the device does not fix the problem. Disabling and enabling the device in device manager does not fix the problem. When I try to use the tablet config tool -before- screensaver, the pressure config works fine. It gives you a little area where you can draw to test out the pressure. When I try to use the same tool -after- screensaver, the moment I click on that drawing area, the config tool freezes.

  • Quickly open Windows Mobility Center in Windows 8 "tablet" mode

    I am using a Surface Pro (2013). I would like to know if there is a quick way to open the Windows Mobility Center desktop program. I like to use this program because it is easy to manipulate during the "tablet" (non-keyboard, no-mouse) mode. This program has multiple ways to be started, according to From How to Open and Use Mobility Center in Windows 7 and Windows 8: (Windows 8) Press Windows key + X and select Mobility Center Open the Control Panel and select "Windows Mobility Center" Open the Run dialog and type "mblctr.exe" and press Enter key. None of these are quick and easy when in "tablet" mode. I would ideally like to swipe from right screen edge into to open the Settings pop up and select one icon that opens the Mobility Center. Alternatively, another way I would like to have implemented would be to touch the Windows icon on the tablet screen outside of the viewing area and touch an "app" to launch the Mobility Center. Alternatively, it would be nice to have a Live Tile App that duplicates this functionality.

    Usually my Wacom Bamboo tablets screen area (Area which cursor can go using tablet) is as set - One (1280x1024) monitor. However, when I run any Adobe Product, such as PhotoShop or Illustrator (CS5 or CS4), and it is the active window, my screen area reduces to around 400x400, effectively making itself absolutely useless. If another program is the active window, it works fine. Running Windows 7 32-bit, with up-to-date tablet drivers. Does anyone know a fix for this?

The Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 driver seems to be customized by HP !! If you install the laptopvideo2go.com/ drivers on Xp(after MS nags that it can't verify the publisher of the driver) , it shows the blue screen of death. Is there a way to debug the BSOD ?

    My friend is a Skin specialist (Tricologist) and she has a computer with WinXP in her office. She asked me if I can recommend a hardware which would enable her to write on a graphics tablet that would appear on the screen. Her requirement is thus: There is a prescription paper, a sheet of paper (A4 size) which has a letter head (With the title of the Clinic, Doctor's name etc). The exact image of the paper is available on the Computer. She takes the pictures of the patient's head with a camera and pastes the photo over the sheet of paper. So the top half of the prescription paper will have the photo of the patient's head. In the second half, she wants to write the medication required. I have heard of Bamboo graphics tablet and I saw video in Youtube. But I am not sure if it would be the right solution for her. Can anyone please advise me on this?

    I have a macbook pro and an iPad 2. I tried to use iPad 2 for work when I am out of the office but this is not very comfortable since one has to sync documents, not all Os X Lion apps exist for iPad 2 and so on. I think a solution would be a single tablet device that at the office can be connected to some dock station and then I have the equivalent of my macbook, but when I am out of the office I can touch the screen and used the same applications while on the road. As far as I know the iPad 2 does not and will not allow this. Therefore I wonder if you could recommend me another hardware/tablet/etc that could work this way now as of March 2012.

    I have LENOVO X200 Tablet and I ran the BIOS Update and the computer won't start after the BIOS update. When I ran the BIOS update utility it ran everything fine and asked to restart the computer but it wont start screen is blank. I unplugged the power and took of the battery and put them back and still not starting. Now it has [Power On] indicator light on and screen is not starting. I tried pressing F1 button while trying to start the computer but it doesn't do react to anything. Please help how I can start my Tablet.     Hello, i am in China now, and when i saw an USB digitizer (resistive), i bought it, thinking that i could be used as a mouse. When i connect it to my windows 7 rc1 laptop, the system properties says "pen input available" But, nothing happens when i touch the panel... i installed the bundled drivers, in chinese only, and NOT in unicode (so the text is garbled) When i install the driver, i get access to a special key on the tablet, "switch from pen input to mouse", and the driver will move the pointer according to the position on the tablet. (but no click) If i use the "pen mode", the computer will use a special chinese IME that is very awkard, i want to use the microsoft ime, and be able to draw/take notes on the screen There are "generic" drivers? Or just a plain mouse driver that will click when i press on the surface The tablet name is "qiancai"
