  • Latex Inverse search from a pdf in Okular to TexMaker

    - by Kayton
I am using TexMaker of Karmic Ubuntu with Okular. I use pdfLatex to compile and I view the PDFs in Okular. How can I configure Okular to inverse search with TexMaker? I have tried the following code: texmaker %f -line %l but it does not work. I have tried double clicking, ctrl+click, shift+click, ctrl+shift+click, ctrl+alt+click, alt+shift+click, still nothing. Perhaps I simply don't know what the action is to initiate the inverse search from within Okular. How can I configure Okular to inverse search with TexMaker?

  • Customizing Texmaker

    - by Gabriel Furstenheim
I use LaTeX a lot but I find quite obnoxious all the crappy files it leaves behind when you compile: .aux, .log... Fortunately TeXMaker has the option "clean" that deletes all of these. However, I don't like having to remember to click on it every time I'm going to close a document, ie I'd like a button that both closes a document and cleans all that stuff. Any hint as how to do it? I suppose if I knew how to access the program code I'd be able to do it as I'd just have to put together two options that already exist. Thanks

  • ubuntu-overlay-scrollbars set to false shows no arrows in several cases

    - by Willem van Gerven
I'm running 12.04, and prefer the more conservative style "normal" scrollbars over the overlay scrollbars. I have set them to false in the terminal: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface ubuntu-overlay-scrollbars false However after doing so, with some apps (e.g. Nautilus, Document Viewer) my scrollbars only view a vertical bar, but no arrows on the top and bottom to scroll up and down. With some programs these are shown though, for instance Gummi and Texmaker. It would make a big difference (for instance when having to scroll pdf documents containing several hundreds of pages) to have those arrows reinstated. Is there any way to make this work?

  • braces for Math in LaTeX

    - by Tim
Hi, Is there any convenient way to type in braces in Math in Latex? Especially when I have already typed in a lot of "(" and ")" instead of "\left(" and "\right)", how can I do a quick replacement? similarly for "{" and "}" and "[" and "]"? Is it important to make such changes? I am writing a thesis. Thanks and regards! BTW: I mainly edit latex file in Texmaker and I know how to use emacs.

  • reference suggestion in latex windows (multi-file structure)

    - by voodoomsr
There is some editor of latex that managed the labels for a multifile document?. I tried with TexMaker and LED, and they offers me suggestions about the labels present in the actual document and in the "Master" document but not the labels present in other files of the structure. I made a script to find those other labels but it will be real good that the suggestions covers all the file structure automatically. Finally i tried with Vim and Latex-Suite, this extension has that posibility but i have problem configuring the grep program despite having followed all the instructions found in their website and in the help files, :(. the structure is like this: document.tex mystyle.sty mybibliography.bib tex/file1.tex tex/file2.tex tex/... img/img1.png img/img2.png . . .

  • how to rollback/undo yum update on fedora after messing the fedora versions

    - by misteryes
I want to install texlive on my fedora 16 laptop with the following procedure: # yum remove tex-* texlive-* # cat > /etc/yum.repos.d/texlive.repo <<EOF [texlive] name=texlive baseurl=http://jnovy.fedorapeople.org/texlive/2012/packages.f17/ enabled=1 gpgcheck=0 EOF # yum update; # yum install texlive after yum update, I notice that my laptop is fedora 16, while I used 2012/packages.fc17/ so I modify /etc/yum.repos.d/texlive.repo to use 2011/packages.fc16 and do yum update again however, there are many errors [root@kitty esolve]# yum update Loaded plugins: auto-update-debuginfo, langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/leigh123linux/cinnamon/fedora-16/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404 - Not Found : http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/leigh123linux/cinnamon/fedora-16/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml Trying other mirror.
