  • Blazing Keywords - The Google Blazing Keywords Review

Many people who are currently attempting different methods of online marketing in order to promote and build their business have heard that keyword research is extremely vital to the success of your online marketing. Unfortunately most online marketing companies do not properly teach their members how to effectively do their keyword research in order to get good results and because of that many people are left to look for services that promise to do this for them.

  • 10.10 freezing when sftp downloading

    - by aGr
My ubuntu 10.10 is freezing during downloading from my other computer on sftp. I thought it might be some nautilus issues so I tried it via command line and I got the same thing - after few minutes the whole computer freezes. Mostly the numlock led is blinking (I've heard somewhere that this means a kernel panic), but not in 100% cases. I dunno if that helps but here is a log from /var/log/message in the time that this happened. At least I hope so - it wasn't that big, when it happened before. But this looks quite "errorish", right? (isn't complete - see bottom) Jan 5 17:57:49 tomas-ntb kernel: imklog 4.2.0, log source = /proc/kmsg started. • Interview with Tomas Ulin at the MySQL Innovation Day

    - by Monica Kumar
MySQL Innovation Day held on June 5, 2012 was a great event for the MySQL engineers, users and customers to gather, share and network. I was able to get a few minutes with Tomas Ulin, Vice President of MySQL Engineering at Oracle, to ask him some questions. Here are the highlights of my interview with Tomas. Monica: This was the first MySQL Innovation Day, correct?  Why now, what was the strategy behind hosting this kind of event? Tomas: In the last year, we have rolled out an incredible number of MySQL events worldwide – some targeted at developers that are new to MySQL and others for the MySQL savvy. At the MySQL Innovation Day, our first event of this kind,, we had a number of our key engineers presenting lightning talks delivering previews of key new features as well as discussing roadmap. Our goal is to keep an open dialogue with the MySQL community. In fact, we are hosting a two-day conference, another first, for the MySQL community called MySQL Connect on Sept. 29-30 in San Francisco. If you attended the MySQL Innovation Day and liked what we did, you are going to love MySQL Connect. We’ll have a lot more of our engineers and many users and community members presenting hour long sessions and hands on labs. Our engineers will be presenting new MySQL features as well offer previews of upcoming enhancements. Monica: What's the big take-away from today's MySQL Innovation Day? Tomas: I hope the most important takeaway for attendees was to see that Oracle has been driving, and continues to drive MySQL innovation with a steady stream of new great GA and Development Milestone releases. Monica: What were attendees most interested in? What feedback did they have? Tomas: Feedback from attendees was incredibly positive and encouraging. In particular, they liked the interaction with the MySQL engineers and were also excited about the new early access features in MySQL 5.6 and MySQL Cluster 7.3. In addition, sessions delivered by MySQL users like Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter were very well received. For example, Pinterest talked about using MySQL to scale from 0 to billions of page views/month, Twitter talked about “Scaling twitter with MySQL” and Facebook discussed the many options to implement MySQL master failover solutions. The presentations are already available for download while some of the session videos will be made available on the MySQL Innovation Day web page shortly. Monica: How would you distinguish the use of MySQL vs. Oracle Database? What key factors should customers consider? Tomas: MySQL and Oracle Database complement each other. They are very different products, best suited to different use cases. Customers can choose world-class solutions from Oracle to fulfill a variety of needs. MySQL is a great choice for enterprise web-based, custom and embedded apps. Oracle Database is the leading choice for enterprise packaged applications such as ERP, CRM as well as high-end data warehousing and business intelligence applications. Monica: What are the highlights of the current MySQL 5.6 Development Milestone Release and early access features for MySQL Cluster 7.3? Tomas: MySQL 5.6 development milestone release builds on MySQL 5.5 by improving: Optimizer for better Performance, Scalability Performance Schema for better instrumentation InnoDB for better transactional throughput Replication for higher availability, data integrity NoSQL options for more flexibility We announced some new early access features in MySQL 5.6, including binary log group commit. We also announced early access features in MySQL Cluster 7.3 including support for foreign key constraints. Monica: How do people get these releases? Tomas: You can access development milestone releases by going to: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysqlThen select the “Development Release” tab. The MySQL Cluster 7.3 and other early access features can be downloaded at: http://labs.mysql.com Monica: What's coming up next for MySQL? Tomas: Our development team is working in overdrive, cranking out new features with community feedback. Don’t miss the MySQL Connect conference being held in San Francisco on Sept. 29 and 30th. My team and I will be there. I hope you can join us! Monica: Thank you for your time, Tomas. I look forward to seeing you at the MySQL Connect conference. To our followers, I hope you found this interview informative. I welcome your comments. Please stay tuned here for more updates on MySQL. Note: Monica Kumar is Senior Director of product marketing for Linux, Virtualization and MySQL at Oracle.

  • MySQL Connect: Interview with Tomas Ulin

    - by Bertrand Matthelié
The MySQL Connect conference is taking place September 29-30 in San Francisco. We asked a few questions about the event to Oracle’s VP of MySQL Engineering Tomas Ulin. Hi Tomas, to start with, what is MySQL Connect? A: MySQL Connect is a conference delivered by Oracle, with and for the MySQL Community. We’ll have over 60 technical breakout sessions, Birds-of-a-feather sessions and Hands-On labs running throughout the two days, plus the keynotes. So it’s a fantastic opportunity to learn a huge amount in only two days, and to network with Oracle engineers, users, customers and partners. When will the program be available online? A: The call for papers ended May 6 and we got an amazing response. The content committee has been working hard to build a great program, and the content catalog will be available by mid-June. Will Oracle MySQL engineers developing and supporting the products be there? A: Absolutely. And they’ll be available during the whole conference to answer questions. What do you plan to cover in your keynote? A: That’s a secret...:). Oracle is driving a lot of MySQL innovations and I will spend time on the latest developments, as well as help folks understand where we are going. What should attendees definitely not miss? A: We’ll have so many great sessions that the list could be long…but I also think the Saturday eve reception should not be missed. It’s always a lot of fun to meet so many MySQL users and have passionate discussions in a relaxed setting. What do you personally look forward to? A: Getting to meet the MySQL users and customers is probably most rewarding, as well as getting the chance to showcase the latest and greatest in our MySQL products. The development is so rapid that there are always new and exciting things to talk about. Oh, and I’ve also been told that there will be a game zone including Guitar Hero...:) In summary, why should people attend MySQL Connect? A: During two days, you’ll hang out with MySQL experts. You’ll learn a lot, you’ll meet the Oracle engineers developing and supporting the MySQL products, you’ll hear from customers using MySQL in a wide variety of applications and share your experiences with them, and you’ll have a lot of fun! Thank you Tomas! MySQL Connect registration is open – Register Now and you’ll save US$500 with the early bird discount! Interested in Sponsorship and Exhibit opportunities? • SQLBeat Podcast – Episode 4 – Mark Rasmussen on Machine Guns,Jelly Fish and SQL Storage Engine

    - by SQLBeat
In this this 4th SQLBeat Podcast I talk with fellow Dane Mark Rasmussen on SQL, machine guns and jelly fish fights; apparently they are common in our homeland. Who am I kidding, I am not Danish, but I try to be in this podcast. Also, we exchange knowledge on SQL Server storage engine particulars as well as some other “internals” like password hashes and contained databases. And then it just gets weird and awesome. There is lots of background noise from people who did not realize we were recording. And I call them out and make fun of them as they deserve; well just one person who is well known in these parts. I also learn the correct (almost) pronunciation of “fjord”. Seriously, a word with an “F” followed by a “J”. And there are always the hippies and hipsters to discuss. Should be fun.

  • Friends Don’t Let Friends Play with Portal Guns [Video]

    - by Jason Fitzpatrick
Many Portal fan films are sci-fi stories in their own right; this humorous video is simply focused on what happens when three guys get their hands on a portal gun. Jason Craft, the video’s director, explains: My interpretation of what a real POrtal gun would be like if one existed. Based on the video game, POrtal. I tried to match the game as close as possible. This was the most challenging project I have ever undertaken, consisting of 3D tracking, seamless camera cuts and 3D camera projection. ENJOY! We certainly wish our goofing around with friends videos came off this polished. For those of you wondering how he got such an awesome Portal Gun prop, it’s all CGI (you can check out his model here). [via Boing Boing] HTG Explains: What Is Windows RT & What Does It Mean To Me? • Blazing fast performance with RadGridView for Silverlight 4, RadDataPager and WCF RIA Services

In my previous post I’ve used almost 2 million records to the check the grid performance in WPF and I’ve decided to do the same for Silverlight 4 using WCF RIA Services. The grid again is bound completely codelessly using DomainDataSource and RadDataPager: <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <riaControls:DomainDataSource Name="orderDomainDataSource" QueryName="GetOrdersAndOrderDetails"> <riaControls:DomainDataSource.DomainContext> <my:NorthwindDomainContext /> </riaControls:DomainDataSource.DomainContext> </riaControls:DomainDataSource> <telerik:RadGridView Name="RadGridView1" IsReadOnly="True" AutoExpandGroups="True" ItemsSource="{Binding Data, ElementName=orderDomainDataSource}" /> <telerik:RadDataPager Grid.Row="1" PageSize="10" Source="{Binding Data, ElementName=orderDomainDataSource}" DisplayMode="All" /> </Grid> And the query again will return join between Northwind Orders and Order_Details: … public IQueryable<OrdersAndOrderDetails> GetOrdersAndOrderDetails() ...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Search files blazing fast

If you know there is a file somewhere on your machine, but you cannot find it with the default Windows Search Tools (that why they tend to call it Windows Search and not Windows Find ) then switch to a tool that really works. Go to http://www.voidtools.com/ to download your copy of Everything. The download is only small (350KB), it indexes fast (within 5 mins) and searches my complete computer even faster then I can type. I only blame David Carpenter for not spreading the word more aggressively and for not developing this earlier.

  • Blazing fast performance with RadGridView for WPF 4.0 and Entity Framework 4.0

Just before our upcoming release of Q1 2010 SP1 (early next week), Ive decided to check how RadGridView for WPF will handle complex Entity Framework 4.0 query with almost 2 million records: public class MyDataContext{    IQueryable _Data;    public IQueryable Data    {        get        {            if (_Data == null)            {                var northwindEntities = new NorthwindEntities();                var queryable = from o in northwindEntities.Orders                               from od in northwindEntities.Order_Details                                select new                                {                                    od.OrderID,                                    od.ProductID,                                    od.UnitPrice,                                    od.Quantity,                                    od.Discount,                                    o.CustomerID,                                    o.EmployeeID,                                    o.OrderDate                                };                _Data = queryable.OrderBy(i => i.OrderID);            }             return _Data;        }    }} The grid is bound completely codeless in XAML using RadDataPager with PageSize set to 50: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:telerik="http://schemas.telerik.com/2008/xaml/presentation" Title="MainWindow" mc...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Double root folder vs single root folder

    - by Tomas
On my Linux box, in bash, I have access to a "double root" folder denoted by two forward slashes: tomas:~ $ cd / tomas:/ $ ls bin/ cdrom@ ... tomas:/ $ cd // tomas:// $ ls bin/ cdrom@ ... The content of the folder and its subfolder is identical to the "normal" single slash root. The double slash does not go away when I access its subfolders. The annomaly does not repeat itself with three or more slashes; these are simple synonyms for the root: tomas:// $ cd home/tomas tomas://home/tomas $ cd /// tomas:/ $ cd //// tomas:/ $ What kindof place is it? Is it a bug? Can anyone explain the annomaly?

  • Finish long directory name with tab problem

    - by user1880405
I have simple problem that I have to long directories which I want to cd into, but I would like to know easy way. mosquito@mosquito-K56CB:~/Downloads$ ls | grep Guns Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction (Japanese Edition) 1987 Guns n' Roses - Use Your Illusion I 1991 Of course I can just copy the name and put it like this: cd "Guns n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction (Japanese Edition) 1987" But why when I write cd Guns then tab, it finishes line into: cd Guns\ n\'\ Roses\ -\ then by my understanding I should just start writing App.. with tab and it should finish whole name, but it does not. And hitting tab twice does not show me anything either. What I am missing here?

  • Ubuntu won't start

    - by Tomas
I've had Ubuntu installed, using WUBI, for some time now - a few months or so. It's worked fine until now, allowing me to login, use it's features etc... Two days ago, I turned on my computer and started Ubuntu. It loaded the GUI fine but just showed the loading screen and even after waiting 10 mins on this screen it still wouldn't show me the login page. I am enthusiastic about web design and development and all of my work, along with my portfolio is stored in Ubuntu. Cheers, Tomas EDIT: I am using 12.04 LTS.

  • JRockit R28 "Ropsten" released

    - by tomas.nilsson
R28 is a major release (as indicated by the careless omissions of "minor" and "revision" numbers. The formal name would be R28.0.0). Our customers expect grand new features and innovation from major releases, and "Ropsten" will not disappoint. One of the biggest challenges for IT systems is after the fact diagnostics. That is - Once something has gone wrong, the act of trying to figure out why it went wrong. Monitoring a system and keeping track of system health once it is running is considered a hard problem (one that we to some extent help our customers solve already with JRockit Mission Control), but doing it after something occurred is close to impossible. The most common solution is to set up heavy logging (and sacrificing system performance to do the logging) and hope that the problem occurs again. No one really thinks that this is a good solution, but it's the best there is. Until now. Inspired by the "Black box" in airplanes, JRockit R28 introduces the Flight Recorder. Flight Recorder can be seen as an extremely detailed log, but one that is always on and that comes without a cost to system performance. With JRockit Flight Recorder the customer will be able to get diagnostics information about what happened _before_ a problem occurred, instead of trying to guess by looking at the fallout. Keywords that are important to the customer are: • Extremely detailed, always on, diagnostics information • No performance overhead • Powerful tooling to visualize the data recorded. • Enables diagnostics of bugs and SLA breaches after the fact. For followers of JRockit, other additions are: • New JMX agent that allows JRMC to be used through firewalls more easily • Option to generate HPROF dumps, compatible with tools like Eclipse MAT • Up to 64 BG compressed references (previously 4) • View memory allocation on a thread level (as an Mbean and in Mission Control) • Native memory tracking (Command line and Mbean) • More robust optimizer. • Dropping support for Java 1.4.2 and Itanium If you have any further questions, please email [email protected]. The release can be downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jrockit/index.html

  • What is an elegant way to install non-repository software in 12.04?

    - by Tomas
Perhaps I missed something when Canonical removed the "Create launcher" option from the right click menu, because I've really been missing that little guy. For me, it was the preferred way to install software that comes not in a .deb, but in a tar.gz, for example. (Note: in that tar.gz I have a folder with the compiled files, I'm NOT compiling from source) I just downloaded the new Eclipse IDE and extracted the tar.gz to my /usr folder. Now, I'd like to add it to my desktop and dash so it can be started easily. Intuitively I would right click the desktop and create a launcher. After this I'd copy the .desktop to /usr/share/applications. However, creating a launcher is not possible. My question: How would you install an already compiled tar.gz that you have downloaded from the internet? Below are a few things I've seen, but these are all more time-consuming than the right click option. If you have any better ideas, please let me know. Thanks! Manual copy & create a .desktop file: manually Simply extract the archive to /usr. Create a new text file, adding something along the lines of the code block below: [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Type=Application Terminal=false Exec="/usr/local/eclipse42/eclipse" Name="Eclipse 4.2" Icon=/home/tomas/icons/eclipse.svg Rename this file to eclipse42.desktop and make it executable. Then copy this to /usr/share/applications. Manually copy & create a .desktop file: GUI fossfreedom has elaborated on this in How can I create launchers on my desktop? Basically it involves the command: gnome-desktop-item-edit --create-new ~/Desktop After creating the launcher, copy it to /usr/share/applications.

Hello, I have created anonymous(everyone account) "hidden" shares on Windows 2003 to let our ASP.NET application access it from another server without credentials. Is it possible to install some sort of SIP server/gateway/proxy (on a linux server), that would register those 4 accounts and I would be able to connect to it as if it was 1 account? (With dialing rules, etc.) 3 of the accounts have incoming numbers. Thanks. Tomas.

Here is my code: public class CameraActivity extends Activity { private Camera mCamera; private CameraPreview mPreview; private static final String TAG = "CameraActivity"; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.camera); // Create an instance of Camera mCamera = getCameraInstance(); // Create our Preview view and set it as the content of our activity. mPreview = new CameraPreview(this, mCamera); FrameLayout preview = (FrameLayout) findViewById(R.id.camera_preview); preview.addView(mPreview); Button captureButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button_capture); captureButton.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Log.v(TAG, "will now take picture"); mCamera.takePicture(null, null, mPicture); Log.v(TAG, "will now release camera"); mCamera.release(); Log.v(TAG, "will now call finish()"); finish(); } }); } private PictureCallback mPicture = new PictureCallback() { @Override public void onPictureTaken(byte[] data, Camera camera) { Log.v(TAG, "Getting output media file"); File pictureFile = getOutputMediaFile(); if (pictureFile == null) { Log.v(TAG, "Error creating output file"); return; } try { FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(pictureFile); fos.write(data); fos.close(); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { Log.v(TAG, e.getMessage()); } catch (IOException e) { Log.v(TAG, e.getMessage()); } } }; private static File getOutputMediaFile() { String state = Environment.getExternalStorageState(); if (!state.equals(Environment.MEDIA_MOUNTED)) { return null; } else { File folder_gui = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory() + File.separator + "GUI"); if (!folder_gui.exists()) { Log.v(TAG, "Creating folder: " + folder_gui.getAbsolutePath()); folder_gui.mkdirs(); } File outFile = new File(folder_gui, "temp.jpg"); Log.v(TAG, "Returnng file: " + outFile.getAbsolutePath()); return outFile; } } After clicking the Button, I get logs: "will now take picture", "will now release camera" and "will now call finish". The activity finishes succesfully, but the Callback function was not called during the mCamera.takePicture(null, null, mPicture); function (There were no logs from the mPicture callback or getMediaOutputFile functions) and there is no file in the location that was specified. Any ideas? :) Much thanks!

  • .NET command line argument bug?

    - by Tomas
    Hello, I am trying to read command lien argument but it seems there is some kind of bug in .NET. The parameter which I pass to my console application /i "C:\Projects\PC\trunk\Simulator\PDF-Source\PDF-Source\bin\Debug\ConversionFiles\dummy.pdf" /o "result" CommandLine variable return three arguments, but I pass four and values of these arguments messed up. /i = true "C:\Projects\PC\trunk\Simulator\PDF-Source\PDF-Source\bin\Debug\ConversionFiles\dummy.pdf" = true /o = "result" As you see only the last argument is parsed corectlly. Is this bug? regards, Tomas My code static void Main(string[] args) { Arguments CommandLine = new Arguments(args);
