• Is there any Google Adsense revenue if a visitor rolls over (hovers) on an ad unit?

  I have noticed an increase in interactive flash animations especilly on 300px wide adsense ads. Many of them ask the visitor to rollover to either reveal what the ad is about, show a clip, etc. So I wonder: the visitor is giving attention to this ad, is viewing its message -- without clicking on it. In essence, the ad agency's objective is accomplished without a click, which would be a significant money saver if PPC is considered. This seems very ingenious on their part, and I wonder how this is handled by Google. Shouldn't there be a fee for a publisher if visitors interact with ads, regardless of clicks? CTR becomes irrelevant in this context. Are you aware of anything being discussed in this respect?

• Unable to run jQuery Masonry in a Sencha Touch 2 app

  In my ST2 app I have on index.html <script id="jquery" type="text/javascript" src="resources/js/jquery-1.8.2.js"></script> <script id="masonry" type="text/javascript" src="resources/js/masonry-2.1.5.js"></script> as well as <script> $(document).ready(function(){ var $container = $('.x-list-container'); $container.imagesLoaded(function(){ $container.masonry({ itemSelector: '.x-list-item', }); }); }); </script> My front page on the app is a list so it wraps elements as such <div class="x-list-container"> <div class="x-list-item"></div> // 'x-list-item' is the block I want to float <div class="x-list-item"></div> ... </div> However once everything is loaded and I inspect .x-list-item there is no style positioning the div. I am experience with Masonry on regular web app but can;t make it work here. It's like Masonry isn't running at all. It is being loaded (checked on the network tab) and jQuery is being loaded (on network tab and tested using if (jQuery) {alert('hey there');. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? }

• Hiding a button on pushed view and showing it when back to list view

  When I load my list view it has several blog posts and a refresh button on the top left. If I tap on a list item a view is pushed with the contents of that specific post. When this view is pushed in, the refresh button is hidden. But when I tap 'Back' to the parent list view, I'd like the refresh button to show (un-hide) - but it remains hidden. Any idea how to make this work? • How do I fully reload my Sencha Touch App when tapping 'refresh'?

  My list view layout is similar to Pinterest, with absolutely positioned blocks. Unfortunately, this seems to require a full re-initialization at refresh. If reload only the store (as below) the new blocks are incorrectly positioned. How do I reload the app when the user clicks on refresh? • Need help setting up json array

  A database query returns several rows which I loop through as follows: foreach ($query->result() as $row) { $data[$row->post_id]['post_id'] = $row->post_id; $data[$row->post_id]['post_type'] = $row->post_type; $data[$row->post_id]['post_text'] = $row->post_text; } If I json_encode the resulting array ($a['stream']) I get { "stream": { "1029": { "post_id": "1029", "post_type": "1", "post_text": "bla1", }, "1029": { "post_id": "1030", "post_type": "3", "post_text": "bla2", }, "1029": { "post_id": "1031", "post_type": "2", "post_text": "bla3", } } } But the json should actually look like this: { "stream": { "posts": [{ "post_id": "1029", "post_type": "1", "post_text": "bla1", }, { "post_id": "1030", "post_type": "3", "post_text": "bla2", }, { "post_id": "1031", "post_type": "2", "post_text": "bla3", }] } } How should I build my array to get this json right?

• Is there a way of getting a file name and inserting into Matlab script?

  In a folder, I have both my .m file that contains the script and an imaging .dcm file that needs to be analyzed. Folder structure: Folder1/analysis.m Folder1/meas_dynamic_123.dcm My script (analysis.m) begins as follows: target =''; <== here should go the full path to the file + filename example: /Volumes/Data/Folder1/meas_dynamic_123.m txt = dir(target); // etc So I'm wondering if there is a way of when running analysis.m it will: automatically search the folder it's in, grab the full path + filename of file containing string dynamic in the name, insert its full path + name into target variable continue running the script Does anyone have any pointers on how to achieve this? Using ffpath?

• Windows Phone 7 Prototype 002: Animated Page Transitions + Writeable Bitmaps

  Motion is a key part of WP7 application development. Without motion, the WP7 UI is just a bunch of text. Not nearly as exciting. To delight users, you can add some transitions between pages.  The sample app includes some storyboards to animate between two pages. Other people have noted that you can just use the transitioning content control form the SIlverlight toolkit. Peter Torr also had a nice animating frame control in his mix demo code (his blog has some other great code samples for WP7 app dev). I took some of those concepts and the code from the TransitioningContentControl to make a new animating frame control. In this prototype, the frame takes a snapshot of the old content and the new content using writeable bitmaps and animates the snapshots and then replaces those with the actual page. The benefit is smoother animation on pages with lots of controls. Otherwise, if you have a large panorama, it might not animate that cleanly.  Like the other solutions based on the TransitioningContentControl, you can centralize all the animations in one place and not have to handle them on each individual page. Peters code also had a nice snippet for choosing the animation based on the navigation direction so you could just have a forward / backward animation and not have to do anything on each page. You could also probably add some more advanced transitions using pixel shaders or make an default no transition state if you wanted to have some specific animation on a page where individual  controls transitioned out differently like some of the WP7 shell apps. • Mix10 is in history, Windows Phone 7 is here!

  MIX10was really a fantastic conference for Telerik! We had great talks, many customers stopped by our booth and we've got a lot of great feedback for our Silverlight Controls. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your opinion! So now, that the MIX is over, there is one question left: What Telerik will develop for theWindows Phone 7? We had this question on the booth over and over again and it is no doubt that the WP7 development is a hot topic now. All we can sayat this momentis that Yes, we are looking into this and we actually have some of our controls already partially working with WP7 internally :) You know that the Silverlight version for WP7 is Silverlight 3 and it has some very good additions over it in order to support the phone hardware - like webcam, mic, accelerometer, etc. If you missed the conference and the sessions- here is a list of videos thatwill get you started: Building Windows Phone Applications with Silverlight, Part 1 Mike Harsh Building Windows Phone Applications with Silverlight, Part 2 Peter Torr The good thing isthat our controls will needvery few tweaks in order to be *compiled* against the WP7 Silverlight runtime.
