• Hide from google while developing

  I will be building a (wordpress) web site. While I am developing, other team members will be pushing content. I'd like to have it hidden from google while under development. It will be hosted on godaddy. I have thought of not pointing the domain name to it until live and using "preview dns", or buying a static IP during development. Or hosting dev site in a sub-directory ("/dev/") until ready and then moving it up a level. If in the dev directory I'd add htaccess or robots.txt to not crawl. Is any of this a bad idea? Will google penalize for any of this - like search by IP and then associate that with the domain later on? Any better ideas?

• Programmatically Add Controls to WPF Form

  I am trying to add controls to a UserControl dynamically (programatically). I get a generic List of objects from my Business Layer (retrieved from the database), and for each object, I want to add a Label, and a TextBox to the WPF UserControl and set the Position and widths to make look nice, and hopefully take advantage of the WPF Validation capabilities. This is something that would be easy in Windows Forms programming but I'm new to WPF. How do I do this (see comments for questions) Say this is my object: public class Field { public string Name { get; set; } public int Length { get; set; } public bool Required { get; set; } } Then in my WPF UserControl, I'm trying to create a Label and TextBox for each object: public void createControls() { List<Field> fields = businessObj.getFields(); Label label = null; TextBox textbox = null; foreach (Field field in fields) { label = new TextBox(); // HOW TO set text, x and y (margin), width, validation based upon object? // i have tried this without luck: // Binding b = new Binding("Name"); // BindingOperations.SetBinding(label, Label.ContentProperty, b); MyGrid.Children.Add(label); textbox = new TextBox(); // ??? In use, if i mouseover "Three", the dropdown stays out forever. if i mouseover "A", dropdown will stay out forever, but if I mouseover "B" or anything lower, the menu will close on me. if you uncomment "// alert(timeout);" it gets there for B, (and A) but timeout will have a value. why is this? i thought clearTimeout would null the timeout variable?

• Perl Hash Slice, Replication x Operator, and sub params

  Ok, I understand perl hash slices, and the "x" operator in Perl, but can someone explain the following code example from here (slightly simplified)? sub test{ my %hash; @hash{@_} = (undef) x @_; } Example Call to sub: test('one', 'two', 'three'); This line is what throws me: @hash{@_} = (undef) x @_; It is creating a hash where the keys are the parameters to the sub and initializing to undef, so: %hash: 'one' = undef, 'two' = undef, 'three' = undef The rvalue of the x operator should be a number; how is it that @_ is interpreted as the length of the sub's parameter array? I would expect you'd at least have to do this: @hash{@_} = (undef) x length(@_);
