  • [validate plugin] custom rule error

    hi i have added a rule to my form but i can't understand why it does not work!! http://www.pipelabitta.it/form/ This is an example page: the rules is that the check box must be checked and there must be a valid date. From firefox console i can see it returns true or false as i need but the validation does not get triggered. Why is that? Thanks Vitto

  • absolute positioned element not getting 100% height

    hi here's my code (a bit simplified) <div id="wrapper" style="width:960px; margin:0 auto; position: relative;"> <img src="img/bg/wrapper.jpg" alt="" width="960" id="bg" style="position:absolute; top:0; left:0; z-index:0; height:100%;" /> <some more div></div> </div> here's my problem: if i give my image 100% height it works correctly in firefox/chrome (it stretches all allong its wrapper) while in explorer it inherits the page height!! causing an overheighted page. I tried with height=inherit but in firefox/chrome image doesn't stretch at all, in explorer the problem remains the same. Height=auto: the same as above in F/C + explorer doesn't stretch too.   • Change XAMPP's htdocs web root folder to another one

    I'm trying to change the XAMPP's web root default directory /opt/lampp/htocs to another one like /home/me/Dropbox/public_html without success. I've edited the file /opt/lampp/etc/httpd.conf # old line: DocumentRoot "/opt/lampp/htdocs" DocumentRoot "/home/me/Dropbox/public_html" #...etc... # old line: <Directory "/opt/lampp/htdocs"> <Directory "/home/me/Dropbox/Work/public_html"> # # Possible values for the Options directive are "None", "All", # or any combination of: # Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks SymLinksifOwnerMatch ExecCGI MultiViews # etc... I've did this as said in this article: Using Ubuntu One to synchronise htdocs? Then I've restarted Apache and I've got a permission error 403 on every page I've called with the web browser. So I've changed folder and files permission to 755. I've did this as said in this article: What file permissions should I set on web root? The problem still remains the same, I have the 403 error on every page I try to reach with the web browser. I have the same problem on a Mac using XAMPP. So everythig works fine if the folder remains the original /opt/lampp/htocs. How can I change it correctly?

    Hi, I'm trying to make a SELECT on three relational tables like these ones: table_materials -> material_id - material_name table_props -> prop_id - prop_name table_materials_props - row_id -> material_id -> prop_id - prop_value On my page, I'd like to get a result like this one but i have some problem with the query: material prop A prop B prop C prop D prop E wood 350 NULL NULL 84 16 iron NULL 17 NULL NULL 201 copper 548 285 99 NULL NULL so the query should return something like: material prop_name prop_value wood prop A 350 wood prop B NULL wood prop C NULL wood prop D 84 wood prop E 16 // and go on with others rows i thought to use something like: SELECT * FROM table_materials AS m INNER JOIN table_materials_props AS mp ON m.material_id = mp.material_id INNER JOIN table_materials_props AS p ON mp.prop_id = p.prop_id ORDER BY p.prop_name the problem is the query doesn't return the NULL values, and I need the same prop order for all the materials regardless of prop values are NULL or not I hope this example is clear!

  • Converting an input text value to a decimal number

    Hi, I'm trying to work with decimal data in my PHP and MySql practice and I'm not sure about how can I do for an acceptable level af accuracy. I've wrote a simple function which recives my input text value and converts it to a decimal number ready to be stored in the database. <?php function unit ($value, $decimal_point = 2) { return number_format (str_replace (",", ".", strip_tags (trim ($value))), $decimal_point); } ?> I've resolved something like AbdlBsF5%?nl with some jQuery code for replace and some regex to keep only numbers, dots and commas. In some country, people uses the comma , to send decimal numbers, so a number like 72.08 is wrote like 72,08. I'd like avoid to forcing people to change their usual chars and I've decided to use a jQuery to keep this too. Now every web developer knows the last validation must be handled by the dynamic page for security reasons. So my answer is should I use something like unit (); function to store data or shoul I also check if users inserts invalid chars like letters or something else? If I try this and send letters, the query works without save the invalid data, I think this isn't bad, but I could easily be wrong because I'm a rookie. What kind of method should I use if I want a number like 99999.99 for my query?

  • Useful ways for multilanguage navigation and static content on your site?

    Hi, I have a big site running under Apache and PHP and in few mounths I should consider to add some different language version of it, but I'm not sure about the right way (or ways). My problem it isn't the user data, because I can use db tables with different languages (en, de, it, etc.) so I want concentrate my answer on navigation and static content. For now I can't use gettext because I don't have a dedicated server and I can't reboot it every time I want, but surely will be a future choice. So my main problems are these: In the site, I have classical XHTML elements like the menus, lists, div and various static texts in various pages (should be perferct for gettext, but I need a alternative) The other part of the sites has XHTML elements which are dynamically created via AJAX and jQuery, and here I haven't any idea of what can I do... So does exists some example I can see in some link to solve it (or some useful tecnique)?

    Hi, I'm trying to create an honeycomb with as3 but I have some problem on cells positioning. I've already created the cells (not with code) and for cycled them to a funcion and send to it the parameters which what I thought was need (the honeycomb cell is allready on a sprite container in the center of the stage). to see the structure of the cycle and which parameters passes, please see the example below, the only thing i calculate in placeCell is the angle which I should obtain directly inside tha called function Note: the angle is reversed but it isn't important, and the color are useful in example only for visually divide cases. My for cycle calls placeCell and passes cell, current_case, counter (index) and the honeycomb cell_lv (cell level).     Hi, I'm trying to use some rule on my project to remove www from the beginning of the URL but I've some problem. my server structure is: domain.com/beta_folder domain.com/beta_folder/page+type domain.com/beta_folder/page+type/content+name domain.com/beta_folder/page+type/content+name/edit domain.com/beta_folder/page+type/content+name/etc. domain.com/beta_folder/.htaccess //here is where my htaccess is beta_folder is the site folder, and content+name are content vars, created to retrieve pages from the database. the site works perfect with this rules RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^(page\+type/)([a-zA-Z0-9_+-]+)[/]?$ page_folder/page.php?varname=$2 My intention was to remove www, so I've added this rule but it isn't effective RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com$1 [R=301,L] RewriteRule ^(page\+type/)([a-zA-Z0-9_+-]+)[/]?$ page_folder/page.php?varname=$2 My problem starts if I digit www in front of my domain name: this works http://domain.com/beta_folder/page+type/content+name if i write http://www.domain.com/beta_folder/page+type/content+name the rewrite rule redirect me at http://www.domain.compage+type/content+name if i remove the www rules, the problem still active unfortunately, I can't make a public test for my domain basically, if I write http://www.domain.com/beta_folder the rules sends me to http://domain.com/ where I'm wrong?
