• Error in tunneling service on VMC

  I've push an app to my CF on cloud_controller paas.azure4j.us with uri yamashowcase.azure4j.us . When I tried to create tunnel on service which binded to it an error occured like this : toriq@meruvian354:~$ sudo vmc tunnel yamashowcase-db Stopping Application 'caldecott': OK Redeploying tunnel application 'caldecott'. Uploading Application: Checking for available resources: OK Packing application: OK Uploading (1K): OK Push Status: OK Binding Service [yamashowcase-db]: OK Staging Application 'caldecott': OK Starting Application 'caldecott': OK Getting tunnel connection info: ..........Error: Expected remote tunnel to know about yamashowcase-db, but it doesn't I use vmc version 0.3.23 . Any solution for this ??

• MongoDB db.serverStatus() gives error when running using tunnel that is targetted to api.cloudfoundry.com

When I run the same in micro CF on my machine it works ok and gives me the expected output. P.S. I'm trying this to get to know the current connections on my application, written in node.js. Trying to debug some issues with connections to the DB. If there is any other alternative that I can use please suggest that as well.

• Windows 7 XP Mode disable time sync

  So I've tried the trick from Virtual PC 2007, adding the following section to the vmc configuration file: <components> <host_time_sync> <enabled type="boolean">false</enabled> </host_time_sync> </components> Later someone suggested VPC doesn't want the components level so added this instead: <host_time_sync> <enabled type="boolean">false</enabled> <frequency type="integer">15</frequency> <threshold type="integer">10</threshold> </host_time_sync> When I start up XP Mode (Microsoft Virtual PC) it completely ignores any of these two configuration changes and if I change the clock it's instantly reset to the host time again. I've also obviously disabled the Windows Time service but as it's not joined to a domain or set up with a source it shouldn't be involved anyway. I need to test an application over a few midnight passes and thought the XP Mode machine would be perfect, so I didn't have to mess with my workstation clock... is there any way to get the VPC guest to not sync time with the host? This is easy in Hyper-V ;p

• Booting Ubuntu as VM with KVM on Ubuntu 12.04

  I am trying to boot my very first VM using KVM. I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed, i made sure the BIOS had the right virtualization flag enabled for intel processor by running kvm-ok. I have researched this on google and all the instructions that i have found so far are outdated. for e.g. most instructions talk about booting a virtual machine with the following commands qemu-img create -f qcow2 foo.img 100G --- create a virtual disk for your VM kvm --name foo -m 1024 -hda foo.img -cdrom whatever.iso -boot d -- This runs kvm. This command line is incomplete. First you need to be root to run this. Second- it is missing option for the video device. When you run this command you get the following error "Could not initialize SDL(No available video device) - exiting" Googled this error and looked it up on stackover flow http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4841908/sdl-init-failure-reason-is-no-available-video-device The answer provided here does not work on Ubuntu 12.04 Googled this problem further and found out that i need to specify a video device so I finally ran the following command sudo kvm --name mymachine -m 8096 -hda myimage.img --cdrom ubuntu.iso -boot d -vga cirruss -k en-us -vmc :0 This was after I had created the myimage.img image on the drive. Now this command does not give me an error but it just hangs. Does anyone have clear instructions on how to run a VM using KVM on Ubuntu?

• "state is undetermined" when starting Grails app on CloudFoundry

  I have a Grails app that has been running on CloudFoundry for months. I updated the app from Grails 2.0.4 to 2.1.0 and also updated a few plugins I have been using. Now when I push the app to CloudFoundry and do the start, I receive the error: 'appname' state is undetermined, not enough information available. The tomcat Catalina log shows the NoClassDefFoundError below. I've read about issues with the Ivy cache but have not looked into that yet. I have updated vmc to the latest version (0.3.18).
