• Failed to retrieve share list from server

  UBUNTU 11.10 NAUTILUS 3.2.1 We ARE able to see Windows PCs on our network from Ubuntu's NAUTILUS, yet we are NOT able to access their shares from NAUTILUS, even though they work fine with each other, i.e. each windows PC IS able access the other Windows PC's shares just fine. Please infer from this information the answers to any questions about our situation you may have. Note this is a default/pristine configuration, i.e. no changes have been made whatsoever. Our version of Ubuntu is: 11.10, NAUTILUS is 3.2.1 Linux tite-HP-630-Notebook-PC 3.0.0-15-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 20 17:23:00 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux A screenshot is available upon request. • CAMeditor v1.9 – thoughts and reflections

  We recently published the latest iteration of the CAMeditor tool on Sourceforge.net including more enhancements to the NIEM capabilities. This release represented an incremental improvement over the prior version with mostly bug fixes and patches. We’re now working on the full v2.0 release which will feature substantial improvements and new features in practically all areas.  Most importantly we are improving the dictionary handling and providing the ability to visually design new exchange schema directly from dictionary sets of components. In addition we are doing some interim release work on 1.9.x with patches and enhancements particularly to support running on Ubuntu and non-Windows platforms. And we are also providing an Ant script based deployment for the CAMV validation engine so you can do unit testing of batches of templates and XML instance samples using command line scripts. More updates will be forthcoming as we make early release versions available for testing purposes.

• Google Analytics goal funnel does not recognize virtual page views

  I have a setup wizard with 3 steps. Since I'm using AJAX each step uses a virtual pageview with an appropriate URL for each step (see below). The pageviews are being recorded in the Content section of Google Analytics but the Goal Funnel still shows zero for each step. I've tried advise on other forums such as... Make sure Goal URL is set to Exact match Make sure no steps or the Goal URL are a parent directory of any other steps. For example, don't track /wizard/ as a Goal/step and track /wizard/step2/. Not sure why this would be a problem since it is an exact match, but it shouldn't hurt so I tried it... Require (or don't require - tried both) the first step in the funnel ...but none of these seem to work. Thoughts? Goal Settings Exact match : "/wizard/setup-complete/" Funnel Step 1 : "/wizard/step1/" Step 2 : "/wizard/step2/" Step 3 : "/wizard/step3/"

• Printer Sharing Issue

  So I set up my printer on 12.10 to share via SAMBA. Windows 'sees' it, it will install it on windows (I have the printer driver installs but it asks for it in Windows default list.. ?), then I can print a test page to the ubuntu printer from Windows. But If I try to print something in Notepad/Wordpad it says 'Printing' but doesn't add it to the "See whats printing" list. If you do it in Google Chrome, however, it works. Any ideas?

• Ghosting Program for Ubuntu 12.10

  I am looking to figure out how to set up a mass backup system for a computer network (of about 25) and am looking for a ghosting program that makes an image of the entire system for backup/recovery purposes. While clonezilla would work.. you have to manually boot us the CD for it. I am looking for a program that runs INSIDE Ubuntu that sends a system image backup off to the network server at set times, then when needed could also be used to burn the clone back to the machine. Another words- automatically and the only time I have to do anything to it is when I need to burn a backup BACK to a 'crapped' machine. Any ideas?

• Ubuntu 12.10 WiFi Problems

  I have a 32 bit machine running Ubuntu 12.10 with WiFi on it. I have a WPA2 network at home, but if I leave the USB Adapter plugged in while it boots, it infinitely keeps asking for the network password but never connects. If I plug it in after boot, it will connect but then I can't access ANYTHING on the LAN or Internet because "the DNS servers are unreachable". Now, if I leave the computer on a while, I get lucky sometimes and it MAGICALLY decides to connect for a little bit, lock the machine though and the Internet's gone again. The weirdest thing, is when I am connected but can't get to the internet, I do a netstat or ifconfig wlan0, I do have an IP address and everything. It says I'm connected but its not. I have a Realtek RTL8188CU USB adapter.

  I am importing a file which has amount with different currency signs £12.10 $26.13 €12.50 I need to import and convert this into single currency. I am splitting the string as follows $parts = split(' ', preg_replace("/([0-9])/", ' ${1}', $amount, 1)); Couldn't make preg_split work with PREG_SPLIT_DELIM_CAPTURE $parts = preg_split("/\d/", $amount, 2, PREG_SPLIT_DELIM_CAPTURE); I have an array of currency sign to currency code $currencySymbols = array('£'=>'GBP', '$'=>'USD','€'=>'EUR') I need to 1. split the string into currency sign and value - if there is a better way then what i am doing 2. map the currency sign to currency code. Not able to map with $currencySymbols[$parts[0]] Any help will be appreciated. (PHP 5.2.6) using charset=utf-8 Many thanks

• JW FLV Player Javascript event

  When a user triggers a Javascript action, I want the JW FLV to seek back 5 seconds from the current location. I know how to send events using player.sendEvent('SEEK',seconds). But I dont know how many seconds to pass as JS does not know the current location. Can someone please help? http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/wiki/FlashEvents#Viewevents.
