• How to remove Analog and Webalizer from my WHM?

  Hello! Really simple question, we had some issues analog, and decided to turn it off since noone is using it. Now, in "Statistics Software Configuration" page in WHM we have disabled all statistics software, but we want to completely remove every trace of analog and webalizer. We have logs for about 2 years in them, but, like i said, we never used them(using google analytics) so why leaving something that have a lot of data if we are not gonna use it... So how to remove analog and webalizer from whm and how to prune every data they generated? Thanks!

• DNS Server Spoofed Request Amplification DDoS - Prevention

  I've been conducting security scans, and a new one popped up for me: DNS Server Spoofed Request Amplification DDoS The remote DNS server answers to any request. It is possible to query the name servers (NS) of the root zone ('.') and get an answer which is bigger than the original request. By spoofing the source IP address, a remote attacker can leverage this 'amplification' to launch a denial of service attack against a third-party host using the remote DNS server. General Solution: Restrict access to your DNS server from public network or reconfigure it to reject such queries. I'm hosting my own DNS for my website. I'm not sure what the solution is here... • cPanel WHM virtualhost sample

  Hi, Could anyone possible post a virtual host sample from a working httpd server, if possible with the most features enabled (like suPHP, suExec, php directives such as engine on off and others) ? The reason is that i wanted to see how it is formarted, and built per vhost... it's been a long time i dont use cPanel nor have it available so i can't really get it, i've been googling for it but havent found it at all. • All subdomains routed to same DocumentRoot, apache config

  You've seen it done on sites like basecamphq.com where you would have username.basecamphq.com I'm wanting to do a similar thing, any subdomain is routed through to the same index.php file. so username1.example.com will request /home/some/path/to/www (in here is index.php) and username2.example.com will request the same file I have it working locally, but my server uses cPanel. What would be your guess at the apache conifguration?

  Possible Duplicate: Can you help me with my capacity planning? I'm planning to start my own high-performance server and then use collocation services for keeping it up and running. I'm planning to USE it for processing videos and keeping big video site up! (using FFMpeg, MENcoder and etc.) I just need recommendations on whether listed hardware is good enough and will work together well and fast enough. Do I need anything else (missed something). I remember about CPU coolers though! ;) I'm planning to use SSD drives so please tell me if it's going to work just as regular HDDs (but much faster)? Are they going to be used as RAID (is this possible for SSDs)? Here is what I would like to get: Intel ® Server System SR1600URHSR (Urbanna) or Intel® Server System SR1695WBAC 2 x Intel Xeon X5650 4 x 16Gb DDR-III 1333MHz Kingston ECC Reg (KVR13R9D4/16) 3 x (or maybe 4x) 480Gb SSD Intel 520 Series (SSDSC2CW480A3K5) Which server system would be better? Is listed hardware new/good enough and worth buying it at the moment? Should I probably take a look at something slightly more expensive but more up to date and powerful, may be? After all as software I would like to use CentOS 6 64 bit + WHM/CPanel? Any other suggestions on maybe cheaper and same/more powerful server management system but WHM? What most important points to keep in mind when starting/maintaining your own server?

  Recently my sites index.php code was replaced some malacious javascript virus code. I really don't know how did that entered into that page. Today when i tried to download that file via ftp then antivirus gave me the warning. So it means it was not entered from my computer. Is there any way to install some antivirus on VPS server with centos 5 , cpanel/whm so that those code should not be allowed to add. also what is mod_security . will it be helpful.

• On WHM/cPanel how can you tell which packages are in use?

  I want to find out a) which packages are currently in use, and b) which accounts are using them, so I can do some housekeeping. If I go to 'Show Reseller Accounts', it'll list all the accounts by reseller and I can see which accounts use which, so I could go the longhand route of counting through them one by one, but I wondered if there's a way of getting a simple listing. NB: I've seen that if I go to 'Edit Reseller privileges & nameservers' for one of my resellers, I'll see a 'Package limits' table which has a 'Current' column that shows exactly what I'm looking for... but it's for that reseller only, and I don't get this table for resellers that have no package limits (e.g. me).

• How to defend agains botnet http requests

  I have a server with WHM + CPanel and 5 of my costumer got infected with zbot. This means that the domains they have are constantly receiving requests to certain destinations. I tried to use mod_security but seems that it can't filter every requests... I don't really know why? I still see in the access log the connection comming in and it's consuming a LOT of bandwidth and server load Those accounts have already been clean so all of those requests go to error 404 (the ones catched on mod_security I am dropping the connection). Is there anymore ways to defend against this requests?
