• linking error in zxing while trying to use it in my project iphone

  Hi, In My Project i need bar-code scanning. so i use zxing library but i m heaving some linking error and its getting me crazy. error is Undefined symbols: • Embedded ZXing - what am I missing?

  Hi all, Sorry if this has been answered before, but I am trying to make an application that will include the ability to scan barcodes on Android. I'm looking at using ZXing as the library, however, I want to embed the scanner in my application so that the user doesn't have to have the ZXing barcode scanner installed to use my application. From the description of ZXing, it sounds like this is possible. I've gotten as far as building ZXing, linking it into my project in Eclipse, then creating a new reader instance. However, I'm lost when it comes to starting the barcode reader and implementing the callbacks. IMO, this is when the documentation here gets hazy. If someone could explain how to use ZXing properly, that would be of great help. Cheers!

  Hi I'm trying to add zxing to my project (add a button which calls the scanner upon press). I'm developing a Java application, and one of the things it needs to do is encode a byte array of data into a QR Code and then decode it at a later time. • Android - Barcode Scanning, Options? Zxing?

  I want to create an application for Android that will be able to scan barcodes, get the information contained within the barcode and then be able to use that information in some way. I have no idea how to create a barcode scanner so I went Googling and it seems Zxing is the most commonly used way to implement a barcode scanner in an app. Some Links: http://code.google.com/p/zxing/ http://awalkingcity.com/blog/2008/08/25/qr-codes-made-easy-in-android/ http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2050263/using-zxing-to-create-an-android-barcode-scanning-app However the samples I found on zxing involved having to prompt the user to go to the market and install the zxing barcode scanner so that my app can then call the barcode scanner when its needed and the barcode scanner will then return the info to my app. While this would be a good starting point for me I was wondering is there any other options that would allow me to have a barcode scanner embedded in my own application without having to prompt the user to download a secondary application?

It is showing only the camera view but it is not scanning the barcode. The image would come from a mobile phone or webcam, so resolution may be quite poor and not well aligned. I'm specifically interested in something that could be used from ruby on rails, but answers for other languages are welcome. Open Source solutions preferred.
