Is WAP still in use?

I apologize if this question sounds too generic, but I am researching WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) and I am having a hard time finding recent news.

Do cell phones still use WAP or is it replaced by TCP/IP? I am guessing that since WiFi is supported in new cell phones, WAP isn't used anymore. Or did I misunderstand what is WAP?

Is any aspect of WAP used today? I supposed there is still Push Mail and MMS.

When I try to load a wap site with PHP HTTP request from my PC, host of the web site recognizes that I'm sending the request from a PC and redirects me to their actual web site and I can't load the wap site.
