Whats common among Skype, Opera, OpenOffice in Ubuntu ? Whenever I open these applications I get logged off and shows back me the login screen. This started happening since the 10.10 upgrade.

installed VirtualBox 3.1.6 OSE in ubuntu 10 desktop.
installed ubuntu 10 server on a virtual machine in VirtualBox.
select "LAMP server" and "OpenSSH server" options during the ubuntu server installation.
leave network "adapter 1" of virtual machine as "NAT".

I'm emulating Ubuntu using VMWare and I've upgraded it to Maverick version.
When I boot the system I get this error (below the Ubuntu logo):
"an error occurred while mounting /mnt/hgfs"
So I have to click S to continue and the the OS seems to work well.
