Windows 7 installation on Lenovo T61: CD/DVD driver not found error

Did anyone here with Lenovo T61 previously running Windows XP experience this error during the Windows 7 installation process? If so, what's the easiest way to solve this problem? I tried using a USB thumb drive and an external hard drive to run the installation in addition to using a DVD. Thanks in advance.
